Long shot here, was wondering if Huawei has something that will allow an existing backup file created by Samsung smartswitch to be restored somewhat to the Honor 8. I just ordered this phone and was asking, cheers.

Hello everyone,
It is possible to downgrade to Android 8.1 from Android 9 on Samsung A9 ?
I updated it to version 9 and it is very confusing to use as design changes are looking really bad.
If i restore original samsung 8.1 version what program do you recommend for full data backup so i don't loose any data/applications/pictures on my phone ?
Thanks.
Apps are linked to google account, they can be re-downloaded. As for data from the applications you'd afaik need elevated permissions to access that data or a custom recovery. Pictures you should be able to easily back them up to your PC. Generally you can always downgrade but you may be nagged about updating. Also if you had a custom recovery and restored data to an older version, it may or may not cause issues.
I can't give you full insight because the last device I've used relating to samsung was their note/note pro, and the s6. I just thought I'd toss what I do know here.
Is it still possible to go back to an earlier version of Android?
It used to be possible to do so by flashing the bootloader from an earlier version of Android.
A guy called freeza used to make bootloader packages back in the galaxy note 4 days.
Is it still possible?

For Samsung phones, likely yes, maybe with some hacks. For Xiaomi phones, no and never.

No idea about Samsung phones (looking at Knox).
But it is definitely possible to go back on Xiaomi phones and it is pretty easy to do so, don't spread misinformation.
You need authorized EDL I think? It can be bypassed? Or again test points?

On my Poco F2 Pro (Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro) it is as simple as flashing a fastboot ROM in a bootloader, can even change regions that way.
Ok Mi A3 can not downgrade, idk why K30P can
If your phone is a Huawei device, you may take advantage of a PC utility, HiSuite, in order to downgrade your device with ease.

Yes, sure, but Huawei never have Android 11(EMUI 11 is still Android 10) so his phone is probably not a Huawei.

I have gone back to android 10 from 11 with ODIN.
Hi,
I have a mi10t lite 5G and a Poco X3 NFC
My Poco X3 NFC bootloader has been unlocked and TWRP installed.
My mi10t lite 5G, has not been unlocked. It's brand new on Android 10, MIUI version 12.0.2 (I have to option to update it)
What I wanted to ask is, if I install all the apps I require on my mi10t lite 5G from the playstore and some side loaded apps e.g tubemate, bsplayer, etc is it possible to transfer all of this data (including any settings for the apps/system) on another Xaiomi phone aka the Poco X3 NFC?
I'm just worried as I know if I go down the route of unlocking my mi10t lite 5G i will have to wipe it by default anyway which means I will lose everything.
If so, how can I create a backup just in case I need to wipe the mi10t lite 5G or Poco and want to restore the apps/settings back on the devices please?
Do I need to log in to my Mi Account for the mi10t lite 5G and then start installing apps, adjusting settings etc and then do a cloud backup or something?
Thanks very much.
Yes, cloud backup (google) is the only true solution. Using Helium it might be possible to backup some apps, but that depends on the apps. System settings to move for another device? May some google parts but Device specific prob. none.
Everything else simply does not rly work on A10+ or requires root. Imo it would be worth to wait for unlock as you have far more options (not just on backup).
Ok cheers, I guess I am going to also unlock the mi 10 t lite and root it
If your phones using the same OS (in this case MIUI 12), so most likely you can backup whole apps and it's data and restore it across the phone. I did it in LineageOS 10 several times.
But, if you restore it to the different OS version (MIUI 12 to MIUI 11), the chance to let you restore the same data would be lower. And if you restore it to the different base OS (MIUI to Lineage), the chance to let you restore the installed app would be lowest.
I just want to say the the possibility is there, but you need to try and did it to see if it meet with your needs or not
Happy trying!
Cheers.
I currently have a rooted Poco X3 and an out if the box mi10t lite 5G
I want to put my Poco X3 on arrow OS though or may leave it for now not sure.
I need to backup my Poco X3 via titanium or something
Alright just to update
Poco X3 is rooted:
Need to backup this for apps+data+settings if possible best software for this? I've heard titanium backup as my device is rooted but I'm sure titanium is way old and outdated now.
I looking to put my Poco on Lineage OS as I love did this on my Samsung s8 yesterday as love the way it looks/features

I have a P40 Pro that is currently running EMUI 11 ELS-NO4 11.0.0.130 (C792E3R3P3) that got there by utilizing Googlefier. The Play Store stopped working at the same time Huawei's Firmware Finder stopped supplying firmware leaving me stuck on the current firmware with a basically non-functioning P40 Pro. I have tried all the routes to downgrade (as far as i know) to no avail.
I just come across one of my original phone backs that up I created when I first purchased the phone thinking I could recover my phone by utilizing that backup. I am on a MAC with HiSuite, plugged it in and fired it up but Hisuite does not recognize the backup.
So, the question is... how the heck do I get that backup file to work? I don't see any kind of particular identifier to tell me what version/firmware it is.
Dear all,
Recently, Huawei rolled out an update of their P30 Pro from EMUI 11 to EMUI 12 (based on their much touted Harmony OS). After the update, my Samsung Gear S3 is unable to receive notifications from the phone.
Removing and re-installing the following software for the Gear S3 does not work:
Galaxy Wearable
Gear S Plug-in
Samsung Accessory Service
Watch Plug-in (for Samsung Pay)
Has anyone experienced similar issues, please?
The only solution for me was to temporarily rollout back to EMUI 11. Thanks!
Same problem here
This is just terrible. A perfectly fine watch rendered unusable because of a software update.
Hello,
indeed, EMUI 12 ruined Galaxy Wearable.
Temporary solution: roll back to EMUI 11 using HiSuite.
Guess we have to wait or change the phone or watch :-(.
If anyone has any new info, let us know.
Thank you!

I have running so many Apps wich i dont want to re-install and re-configure e.g. banking. Are These Apps After restoring useable? Thanks for your answer

I made a back-up too and restored it after the downgrade to EMUI 11.
However, definitely you have to re-configure banking apps.
Depending on the app, the back-up doesnt't save username, password, device id ...
OK that's what i wanted to know. Thanks
