Hi,
I have a mi10t lite 5G and a Poco X3 NFC
My Poco X3 NFC bootloader has been unlocked and TWRP installed.
My mi10t lite 5G, has not been unlocked. It's brand new on Android 10, MIUI version 12.0.2 (I have to option to update it)
What I wanted to ask is, if I install all the apps I require on my mi10t lite 5G from the playstore and some side loaded apps e.g tubemate, bsplayer, etc is it possible to transfer all of this data (including any settings for the apps/system) on another Xaiomi phone aka the Poco X3 NFC?
I'm just worried as I know if I go down the route of unlocking my mi10t lite 5G i will have to wipe it by default anyway which means I will lose everything.
If so, how can I create a backup just in case I need to wipe the mi10t lite 5G or Poco and want to restore the apps/settings back on the devices please?
Do I need to log in to my Mi Account for the mi10t lite 5G and then start installing apps, adjusting settings etc and then do a cloud backup or something?
Thanks very much.
Yes, cloud backup (google) is the only true solution. Using Helium it might be possible to backup some apps, but that depends on the apps. System settings to move for another device? May some google parts but Device specific prob. none.
Everything else simply does not rly work on A10+ or requires root. Imo it would be worth to wait for unlock as you have far more options (not just on backup).
Ok cheers, I guess I am going to also unlock the mi 10 t lite and root it
If your phones using the same OS (in this case MIUI 12), so most likely you can backup whole apps and it's data and restore it across the phone. I did it in LineageOS 10 several times.
But, if you restore it to the different OS version (MIUI 12 to MIUI 11), the chance to let you restore the same data would be lower. And if you restore it to the different base OS (MIUI to Lineage), the chance to let you restore the installed app would be lowest.
I just want to say the the possibility is there, but you need to try and did it to see if it meet with your needs or not
Happy trying!
Cheers.
I currently have a rooted Poco X3 and an out if the box mi10t lite 5G
I want to put my Poco X3 on arrow OS though or may leave it for now not sure.
I need to backup my Poco X3 via titanium or something
Alright just to update
Poco X3 is rooted:
Need to backup this for apps+data+settings if possible best software for this? I've heard titanium backup as my device is rooted but I'm sure titanium is way old and outdated now.
I looking to put my Poco on Lineage OS as I love did this on my Samsung s8 yesterday as love the way it looks/features

Hey all,
I am almost done with my waiting time for unlocking the bootloader. I am not sure if I should be flashing Xiaomi.eu or not. My aim from this is that I want to remove everything from MIUI that track and harvest data. I do not care if I continue to have MIUI or move to any other ROM.
Anyway, I noticed that my Mi 10 Ultra keeps running the following apps:
- Analytics.
- GetApps.
- Mi Browser.
- AI Call Assistant (what is that? Why do I need a call assitant?)
- NetworkLocation (What is that? Is it collecting any data?)
I have already stopped all the permission and uninstalled all the updates of those apps from the settings. They still manage to download themselves on my stock ROM and continue to function!
Anyway, I did not find any ROM to install other than Xiaomi.eu to be honest. But, it still has Analytics. But, they gave it a different name. The only good thing is that they claim that they have removed all bloats and they decreased the data collection to its minimum.
Moving on, I have tried ([ADB DEBLOAT] MIUI 12.0.8 List). I did not filter ones I want to remove. I just removed everything mentioned. My phone showed a loading screen which says Just a Sec. I waited for a while and then restarted the phone because, it did not move anywhere from there. So, I have decided to restart and... My phone was locked. It was locked for a day and then I was able to unlock it after I did a hard reset.
I do not want to go through that again. So, I am waiting for my bootloader to unlock before doing anything to my device.
So, here are my questions:
1- Is there no Custom Rom that is compatible with Mi 10 Ultra other than Xiaomi.eu? What are my options here?
2- If I installed Xiaomi.eu. What are things that I should be removing? And do I have to sign in to Mi account again after unlocking the bootloader?
Thanks in advance,

I think currently there are no custom ROM for Mi 10 Ultra yet, only official china rom and EU rom atm.
I am running the 20.9.24 weekly EU rom currently, the rom removed almost all china exclusive app (mi wallet and etc). You probably do not need to remove anything. Yes, you need to login to MI account again.

Thank you. But, what if I did not login to Mi Account again?

It'll be fine. You can choose NOT to login to Mi Account after installing EU ROM.
Hi all,
I have a Poco X3 NFC on 12.0.8 (MIUI Global) purchased in the UK.
Android version 10
What I have currently done today:
Unlocked the bootloader
Installed TWRP
What I should do next:
?????
I have a few questions below please:
Am I now allowed to log out of my mi account and take the sim out (the phone will stay unlocked?)
Can I use the same sim to do the same unlock bootloader process on another Xiaomi device now that my Poco X3 has been unlocked if I use a new Mi account?
Should I root the phone? If so how do I do this please?
How can I get the system launcher (on other Xiaomi phones such as Redmi Notes 9 Pro, Mi 10T lite 5G, etc) as I am not a fan of the default Poco launcher as I do not like how you swipe up and it shows all the apps (unless there is a way to change that function to something else?)
If I install a custom rom such as Arrow OS can I revert back to the default rom/Android version easily aka in the rom we initially get when we purchased the phone if something goes wrong?
If I install a custom rom do I have to backup everything up (how can I do this) before moving to another rom? I am just worried about having to re-install all my apps that I have downloaded from the Playstore or other sideloaded apps.
Which rom is best for you guys or do you prefer the default for now?
Really not sure what to do with the phone atm it's literally just sitting here after being unlocked and TWRP installed.
Thank you
I don't have this phone but the sim has nothing to do with unlocking the bootloader. You don't even need a sim card to unlock a bootloader.
I was under the impression that TWRP required a rooted phone so I'm not sure how you got it installed.
There are several 3rd party launcher's, Nova and lawnchair come to mind.
It asked me to use my mobile data to unlock the bootloader so a sim is needed. TWRP is installed on the device and my device is not rooted. Think I may get the phone rooted now.

Back to your original intention, what do you want to achieve to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP?

Yes, you are allowed to do so. And your phone will stay unlocked.

Yes, you can. I use the same simcard to unlock all of my Mi Phone.

If you're just use your phone as basic daily phone. NO need to root.
If you want to play further with Android, YES, you should root it. The best option for me is to use Magisk.

To install launcher, just search on google play, you could install it directly as another app.
I bet you're willing to keep all the apps in homescreen instead of using android drawer. IF so, yes, please install another launcher.
But if you just want to put all the shortcut of your apps to homescreen, you could enable ‘Add installed apps to the Home screen automatically’ in launcher setting.

What are you referring with easily? It's not easy to install a custom rom, as well as install the stock rom. But it's possible, just google it.

You could use google cloud backup to backup installed app from playstore.
For sideloaded apps, you could use 3rd party app (I use Titanium Backup) to backup the app and even the data. But, the chance to restore the app between OS (MIUI to custom rom) is low. And restore the data is lower, even more you can crash that particular app by doing so (just delete the data if you face it).

Subjective for each person. I can't refer anything for it.

I'm not sure if ARB protection is active as my friend wants to flash custom ROM. He's unfortunately on Android 11 so I can't risk his phone.
I've done it and nothing bad happened. Just had to format data afterwards to exit the bootloop. Went from V12.0.6.0.RJGEUXM (A11) to V12.0.7.0.QJGMIXM (A10) to be specific. The A11 one was missing a few switches in the settings menu that I use. I belive there's no Xiaomi ARB protection on POCO X3. You can also read this if you're not convinced yet.

I informed more yesterday about ARB and i thought that authorized account is something that only certified Xiaomi servicers could use. But that's not the case. Thanks for confirmation.
Did you flash a recovery / zip ROM or a fastboot one? A have just received an X3 NFC with Android 11 / MIUI 12.0.6 , and realized in 5 mins that Android 11 is not my cup of tea. It screws up my Nova + Fluid NG combo like hell - hate it.

My friend didn't flashed it yet as he has trouble with laptop recognizing Poco X3, hence no unlocked bootloader.

No worries, in the meantime flashed 12.0.8 using MiFlash - now everything runs fine.
After updating form crDroidAndroid-11.0-20210422-surya-v7.5 to crDroidAndroid-11.0-20210422-surya-v7.5 has a poco x3 complete killed, can not flash any custom neither stock rom whats happen to this phone ?
Experienced/advanced user here, but on old Sony and Samsung mobiles. Poco X3 NFC and PRO are my first Xiaomi devices. And I'm just about to unlock and flash them.
On (old) Samsungs for instance is HIGHLY advisable to do and safe store backups of critical partitions like EFS, first 100MB of device memory, BEFORE playing hard with custom stuff. Just because sometimes things goes wrong by themselves and can loose IMEI, brick. With the backups can circumvent lot of unexpected bad things.
Another fundamental thing to keep in mind on Samsung is to keep modem and bootloader (firmware) versions in sync, otherwise may have WiFi / Bluetooth / Data connection problems.
Well, now back to Xiaomi (Pocos X3 specifically): do you experienced guys on Xiaomi have some similar suggestions? What and how to do it?
For instance:
- backups in order to restore IMEI?
- backups in order to restore DRM (Widevine L1)?
- procedures to avoid other critical problems? (I already know about ARB, anti rollback)
- how to do above, which tutorials/tools are the best to backup/restore for instance? (dd commands? any apk? I'm afraid we should not consider custom recoveries trustful, because TWRP/OrangeFox are all unofficial and early development for Pocos X3)
Thanks in advance!
I've bricked my device twice, to the point where nothing would boot up besides emergency download mode and everything was fine.
I know accidents can happen, but you can root and perform a manual EFS backup, luckily Xiaomi devices aren't the cluster f### Samsung/Sony devices are so your chances of screwing up that partition are very slim unless you're intentionally trying to do so.
Install a reliable recovery, a reliable ROM and you can't go wrong.
I don't think this device has ARB because I've downgraded and upgraded from version to version, region to region so many times now and nothing stopped me, so long as you keep the bootloader unlocked while you're not playing with ROMs (and even so Mi Unlock can still unlock your bootloader regardless due to the account/device token registered).
Xiaomi updates the modem's firmware per build so it's best to use an up-to-date custom ROM based off the latest build for optimal results.

Pretty much what @Yepi69 said.
Sadly, due to novel encryption features, nandroid backups are somewhat hit and miss -- what is known to work was compilled a while back by @jeryll in this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/4233377/...
