Recovering firmware on A P40 Pro from a backup. - Huawei P40 Pro Questions & Answers

I have a P40 Pro that is currently running EMUI 11 ELS-NO4 11.0.0.130 (C792E3R3P3) that got there by utilizing Googlefier. The Play Store stopped working at the same time Huawei's Firmware Finder stopped supplying firmware leaving me stuck on the current firmware with a basically non-functioning P40 Pro. I have tried all the routes to downgrade (as far as i know) to no avail.
I just come across one of my original phone backs that up I created when I first purchased the phone thinking I could recover my phone by utilizing that backup. I am on a MAC with HiSuite, plugged it in and fired it up but Hisuite does not recognize the backup.
So, the question is... how the heck do I get that backup file to work? I don't see any kind of particular identifier to tell me what version/firmware it is.

Having trouble upgrading your phone?

I almost resorted to unlocking the bootloader of my Huawei Mate 9
So my friend and I swapped phone. I gave him my Huawei P9 and he gave me his Mate 9. The unit's stuck on EMUI 5 / Android 7. I know that later updates have been around for quite some time now. First, I tried searching for updates through the system updater-- didn't work. I flashed firmware through "dload method" which also failed miserably. Then I read that you can "force" an update thru TWRP. As a preparation, I downloaded HiSuite to backup some data on my PC. I sh*t you not, the app immediately detected an update. The app allowed me to update the phone (a series of updates though) to the latest version. So if you're facing the same predicament, try this out.
Download HiSuite for PC, install, connect your Huawei phone, and the application will then guide you on how to set things up. On successful connection, an option (HiSuite on PC) may detect an update for your phone. The app will download the update and install it on your phone. You may choose not to update too.
Tried same. Nadda. Still stuck on Android 7 and Emu 5

Mate 30 Pro install GMS Help

Hi everyone. I had reset my phone settings and to my dismay, my google playstore and stuff are wiped as well. I had downgraded my firmware 3-4 times and the last one I can get from HiSuite is 10.0.0.217
- I had tried using Lzplay method, but when I click google playstore sign in button, it does not work
- I had tried using Hisuite proxy but it always mention unable to connect to Hisuite, asking me to check firewall (I had allowed those app to go through in fact)
- Tried Googlefier but playstore just auto close when I press on it.
- I do not have USB thumb drive to flash a lower version of EMUI for my mate 30 pro
- Tried Dualspace but still looking to sideload GMS
Is there by chance any way I can solve this issue? Thanks in advance
I had managed to resolve it using factory restore (I learned the hard way of using proxy to flash the oldest version but eventually factory restore does the trick)
Thank you so much for @bender_007, microG & EloYGomeZTv for the awesome guide

Anyhow. I'm replying to my own comment for future readers. I was able to downgrade my Mate 30 Pro to 10.0.0.134. Unfortunately, googlefier wouldn't work. The worst part is that if you downgrade from 11 to 10, your phone completely looses USB connection to PC and you loose fast and super fast charge. Normal charge was slower than a turtle. So, I went back to 11.0.0.188 (the version I was at before downgrade) to get fast charge and USB working again. Needs to be the same version you were at to get it working again. I'll live without Google. But my next phone, unless HUAWEI has Google, I'm switching to a different brand. I need working notifications. Hope info helps.

Trying to get GMS to work on P40 Pro ELS-LGRP4

So, I have run into a few roadblocks on my quest to get GMS working on my brand new P40 Pro.
Roadblock #1:
Although I am able to download the firmware from pro-teammt as suggested, I am unable to extract the package on to my device. After a little bit of research, I believe Huawei blocks the extraction of "update.app". I could be wrong. But this is where im having issues.
I do not have a card reader so I am currently unable to try this way.
I have tried downloading a third party extractor, no beans.
Roadblock #2
Moving on to method 2. Using the HiSuite proxy to do it for me, I have all of the firmware information, The proxy starts great. HiSuite loads and installs the "HiSuite 10.0.0.510 OVE" on to my phone. Here's where the problems start.
The HiSuite it installs on my phone is incompatible with this device, I have researched and have come up empty on how to resolve this. Which means I am officially stuck.
Someone, please help me, I've been at this for hours now, it's hurting my soul.
Same Here, no way to downgrade my P40Pro ELS-LGRP4 (C185E2R6P3), tried all possible ways, maybe no support available for my device.. Already Hurt my soul..

Wear OS on Huawei P40 Pro?

Hey guys,
I'm using my Huawei P40 Pro for a while, now. Everything worked fine, I basically never needed GMS / Google or I could find good workarounds. Now, I've bought a Suunto 7 Smartwatch; their customer support told me it should be fine and working. But the "official" Wear OS app tells me my phone is not supported and I need to get a Chinese version. After installing said Chinese version, I can connect my phone to the watch, but right after connecting (when retrieving data from the phone), Wear OS (Chinese) tells me to install the "official" version from Google Play Store when being outside of China (which I obviously am; in Austria).
So, I've also tried to do a rollback / downgrade of EMUI (currently installed EMUI 12), but the "official" downgrade via HiSuite does not work, the option does not exist. I was hoping to use the Googlefier method, down on EMUI 10.
I've tried Gspace and microG, but nothing works.
Can you help me out?
I basically just need Wear OS working with my watch.
Thank you very much!

P40 pro downgrade - different device

Hi, just got my P40 pro and decided to install GMS. I've read a couple of guides and started...
Downgraded to EMUI 10 and lost USB connection. My device name changed from ELS-N29 to ELS-NX9. Did OTA updates up to EMUI 12 but still got NX9 as device name. Tried downgrading again via Hisuite and got error message Update Failed.
Shame that none of the widely available guides addressed any of the problems I have encountered, had to specifically look for them to see all the warnings related. I've noticed there are other ways to install GMS but downgrading still seems like the easiest option. Why ELS-NX9 though, and why Hisuite won't proceed?
First time downgraded directly to 10.1.0.154. Used correct files (C432, ELS-N29, R5). Now I am trying to follow THIS guide, but got error message from Hisuite.
What am I doing wrong? How to become ELS-N29 again (if it changes anything) and how can I install GMS and go back to EMUI12 the most hassle-free way? Got quite a bit of experience with flashing, using recoveries etc, so I thought it's gonna be sweet-as-pie job....

You used old tutorials. I think you can find many things on my thread here.
I'll try downgrading to EMUI 11 using Hisuite without Proxy then. I've seen your thread about fixing USB connection etc, but other people said over there that their device became N29 again after some OTA updates. Mine didn't.
I also wonder why my device originally was N29, but ny box says it's an NX9...
If I manage to downgrade to 11 through vanilla Hisuite, will I be able to follow the video I've linked above? It seems pretty straightforward, and If I only seen it before OTA upgrading...
Does my device being NX9 actually make any problems? Or it was just wrong Hisuite/random error then?
Edit: okay, I rhink I see now. So right now I should downgrade to the lowest thing Hisuite will let me, then Hisuite proxy to lowest 11 version, then I should be able to continue as per video. Correct?
EDIT: Okay, not correct, I won't be able to downgrade from 11.0.0.260 any further without OTG according to your guides. Don't have one at the moment.
I've also found this thread. Could I simply stay on EMUI12/HarmonyOS (whichever I have if there's any difference) and install GMS this way? If yes, I'd like t repeat previous question - does my device being ELS-NX9 now instead of originally ELS-N29 affect anything at all? Regards and cheers
Yet another edit: how is it possible that I downgraded from EMUI12 to 10.1.0.154 directly in the first place? Used newest Hisuite with Proxy. According to all guides, including yours, this should not be possible?
