Huawei ID - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Hey guys,
So I've been using my honor 8 for quite a while and I' enjoying it. But yesterday I thought that I have to factory reset my precious Honor. I made backup copy for my apps in HiSuite, and then I was finally ready to factory reset. Although everything went perfect, one problem is driving me crazy... I can't login to Huawei ID... It says something like service in you'r location is not available. Sorry for inconvenience. And well before I did factory reset I've been logged into Huawei ID since I got my Honor 8, I even updated to EMUI 5.0 through HiCare app. So maybe any of you guys know who can be causing this problem? Thanks!
EDIT: Just thought maybe I have to include information about my Honor 8. It's FRD-L09C432B360

I updated my phone to Nougat and since then HiCloud not allowing me to activate Find my Phone option.. It is missing in HiCloud

My honor ID is also playing up.
When I try to register my number it didn't give me the option to use the+44 that I need in the UK.
It keeps coming up saying that hicare is available in my country and to register but I have done all of this.
It was fine Before I updated and factory reset

The best way would be waiting for HUAWEI to release a stock Englist ROM and flash that...
All the chinese variants comes with preloaded chinese apps, I think you should be able to uninstall them easily from Settings > Apps. I never really tried a chinese ROM, so don't know if they are uninstallable, but most of us gets bloats in our /cust partition, from which we can uninstall them.

Some of the default apps can be uninstalled, but I am hoping that at some point there is an English version of the rom for FRD-AL10 released.

Yes, maybe, if some dev makes it.
I get the same Huawei ID location error on Europe Honor 7. I don't think its anything to do with the rom being Chinese.

There is a EU rom here for FRD-L09.
Try it on your own risk.

Thanks for this. I downloaded it, but I will wait to hear if someone else has flashed it on a FRD-AL10 first! Right now the phone is too new and I don't want to risk bricking it.
EU ROMs works on EU variants only, don't try it on Chinese variant, unless you debrand it.

Dude, did you read the article?!
Not sure if there is EU version ROM for FRD-AL00?

Nougat update is here UK and maybe other countries

Good day all I have two Honor 8s both with UK B131 firmware. Been checking updates for Android 7 but not luck.
So I updated my Huawei ID software to 2.4.1.304_OVE one one deviceand then checked for firmware update of my OS and low and behold the new update is there. 2.38GB and downloaded.
I check once again with my other device which l had not updated the Huawei ID, each time I checked for new OS it came back No Update.. So I once again updated my Huawei ID to the one above once installed I checked for new updated. The new update was there did the download and installed reboot and it's all good to go...
So give it a try if you still not seeing new update each time you try..
??
Now to try out the Twin app...
Things I have notice that has been fixed in Android 7
World clock now list County and city for La Réunion - Saint-Denis. Had to use Mauritius settings in the past.
Glad to hear that. Can you provide screenshot of baseband version, security patch level date and kernel version?
Thanks in advance!
PS: Huawei ID update available here too, FRD- L09

Would you have the APK?
@Nyssa1104, thank you, sir. This is the same version which i already received couple of days ago. It is from 18.01.2017. I wonder will the OTA update from 6.02.2017 be pushed soon.....

No its not from play store. Go to the Huawei ID once open in the menu Check for updates.. This is what I did and it will show the new Huawei ID update and just download and install no need for reboot.. There after checking check for New OS..
Just a address note I have since done this to two more Honor 8s (4 now) and they all update to. Android 7 this way.. Maybe there is a trigger in the new Huawei ID software?

I got my Honor ID update but no OS update here.
I'm in the UK maybe it will turn up later

Did you updated the 06.02.2017 OTA? If you did, does the Android security patch still on 1 December 2016? Thank you sir
@fnudaniel83, i'm still on the software from the 18.01.2017. I will wait before update, because from 7am to 20 pm i have 6 hrs SOT and 40℅ battery left at my usage. The phone is very responsive and fast. I mean i am very, very glad.
My posts in all the topics, related to the Android 7.0 are provoked by the same questions as yours- is there any real differences in versions, or Huawei are shocked by themselves and they dont know what they doing? [emoji23] [emoji23]
You are welcome!

Yeah I'm currently on the current frd-L04c567b60 Android 7 date 03.01.2017 updated via firmware finder. I'm having issues with Bluetooth won't connect to my car system, so I'm hoping there's a new update that will fix that.

Ebay bought Mate 8 not updating..?

So I bought a (supposedly) sealed Mate 9 on ebay as a Christmas present to myself, and it's great! but i'm not getting any updates.. its an MHA-L29, Build no MHA-L29C432B182-log.
I'd previously been onto Huawei on facebook with an update query on my Mate 8, so I queried them about this phone with the same question. This was what I got back:
Hi Fred,
Thank you for getting back to us.
We have tried checking the IMEI numbers of your Mate 9 device in our system and although on the consumer website we were prompted with the information that the device is intended for China, while running them through our other software tools we were unable to gain access to any type of information.
For this reason we won't be able to provide any details related to the current Build Number available for the device, or any other details related to the updates intended for it.
Should any other questions arise, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards, Huawei
So it seems it's a China model and not a European one. Do I somehow flash it with a Chinese rom? If so - which one?!
Any help much appreciated!
Fred
I wont be much help on this subject, but you would certainly rebrand to a different region. There are a few threads around for that, Then use the region you want.

So, it is definitely Chinese model.
1. Huawei didn't tell you much info, just point to China.
2. Model that is selling in Europe can't have log suffix in build number. This is ROM for test purpose with logging and sending info to Huawei. Chinese sellers flashed it by inadvertence.
Don't look on it was sealed. It is too easy to seal box again.
Well, you can stay at C432 region, but I recommend flash release version like B198 using Firmware Finder.
Otherwise you can return to Chinese region ( C00 )
In this case you must get unlock code and unlock bootloader. Turn "oem unlock" in developer settings and remember that option is on world ROMs only.
Then you will able to rebrand.
Thanks for the input so far guys,
Would there be any benefit in putting a Chinese rom on? Am I right in thinking that China versions are getting Oreo at the moment? I'd rather not go through using the tool and rebranding (did it before with my Mate 8) so I think i'll try to work out the firmware finder app!
Thanks

I believe the Chinese versions are somewhat limited and cannot access some Google apps and services.

Good morning all,
I used the Firmware Finder to update to MHA-L29C432B198 and all good! Now I guess I just wait for the Oreo update to hit this region version. It needed a reset of course, so I had a fun evening of rebuilding and signing into all my apps while at the same time completely rebuilding my media centre pc which had refused to boot.. yay. Good times.

Well, even if you updated, you're still "out of region". So chances are you won't get any update to Oreo.
Oreo builds for C432 are named MHA-L29 8.0.0.xxx (C432) in Firmware Finder, same with MHA-L09.
So you could try updating to Oreo through FF.
Thanks, I'll keep checking the finder app. I'd rather stay on the c432 chain as I'm in England if that makes a difference. Is Oreo still in beta for 432? So far they all say not approved for installation.

So recently I have got an update on the device and as soon as I updated the device the Huawei ID stopped work , so can someone please help with this case
Guys, try to login now, it worked for me. Guess they fixed the issue ?

I never could get that to work. BUT, I have an L29 USA version, and considering how Huawei was kicked
out of the USA by our stupid government, not surprised.
