Does anyone have this problem with Whatsapp on Gear S2 normal not 3G version.
On some contacts when I press show all message when I get message its normal I see last message even this contact have more then 100+ messages I see lets say last 20 messages normal , but on some other contacts, where I have 100+ messages when I get message from them I see notification with message what they sent but when I press show more or read all message from that contact it start to load old messages and don't show me last 5 days messages, today is 28.12.2015. on 2 contact I see messages from whatsup till 25.12.2015. and older but can't show me messages from last 25.12. till today ???

Well I just turned on notification for Whatsapp and when someone send me whatsup message I can replay from notification or click view all message from sender , but on few contact view all message have problem because don't show last 10-20 or xx message.
I have the same problem and it's very annoying. If anyone has a solution let us know!

I have the same problem. I think it's a bug. Also when I get a picture in WhatsApp, sometimes I can see the picture and most times cant. Don't understand why.
I've just noticed that if I restart the watch i can see the same notification (that didn't work before) correctly

I am having very strange problem with whatsapp notifications. Although i receive notification on my Gear S2 but the problem is its always the latest notification from the contact. For eg: if a contact sends me hi, how are you, see you at 4 as 3 different messages i only receive "see you at 4" notification on gear s2 which is kind of annoying . Does anyone else have noticed this problem. Is there any way we can see all messages from that contact on gear s2 without going to phone?

i've a s7 edge + gear s3 frontier, i've been using the s3 frontier since Marshmallow but last week, when i've updated my phone to Nougat the notifications have changed.
What happens now is that i can see only the last message of an app, let's say that for instance i've a conversation composed by more than one message as follow:
"hi"
"hello"
"goodbye"
Before nougat if i clicked on the notification i was able to see the entire conversation on my gear s3 however now i can see only the last message that i've received (in the example above i see only "goodbye").
Are you experiencing the same behavior?

Yes it is a behavior change on Nougat and soon more apps will move to this direction when Nougat becomes popular.
However, the behavior depends on the apps you use. Some display the first e.g: whatsapp. Some display the last e.g: Telegram. Which app are you using?

In telegram and whatsapp for example i can see only one message, in MM i was able to see one message but if i clicked on the notification i was able to see the entire conversation, will there be an update to solve this?

I'm afraid there won't be official updates to solve this issue as the notifications work just fine on the phone and android wear. You can, however, use a third-party app in the store to solve this issue. For Whatsapp, you can use Whats History. For Telegram, you can try Tlgram History. I developed both apps. Recently I got my xperia xz dual sim and directly updated it to Nougat.. So dont know how it is on 6.x
I noticed something weird. Basically with whatsapp notification sounds so far. When i get a whatsapp message, sometimes the notificatiom tone works normally and sometimes it is cut.. I mean sometimes i hear just the first part of it.. Did anyone see this problem?

I don't use WhatsApp, but I noticed another weird notification glitch. And this may seem different to yours, unfortunately.
I have an app (my local ISP's) which, very rarely, pops a notification regarding an offer or a service update. And when that happens, the notification sound is different (something I did not set as it is not customisable) and, worse, it JUST DOES NOT STOP! It keeps buzzing and buzzing and buzzing. Dismissing the text from the drop-down does not shut it either, and I am forced to restart the device. This didn't happen with any other app, though (and most of those pop up notifications way more often).
Likewise, another annoying bug I noticed was that the phone/system update notifier became a constant presence in the drop-down even if THERE WAS NO UPDATE on offer from Sony.
Full resets did not help and, anyway, I decided to move on. Cashed in on an attractive offer and traded it for a Google Pixel earlier today.
I hope you find a solution to yours, a_k_gano.

Did you try reinstalling WhatsApp?
On that note, I noticed notification and ringer sounds to "cut" abruptly when I tried listening to them while, for example, choosing a tone (be it notification, alarm or ringer). I am referring to the sounds menu under Settings. Come to think, this comes closest to what you have described and no, I didn't find a solution to that either.

this happens to me randomly... when i receive a notification, sometimes it cuts and sometimes it works normally... mainly happens with whatsapp or this is what i noticed so far. I reinstalled whatsapp, I did factory reset to the phone... but no progress so far.
I can say.. for two days after the 7.1.1 SW update, the problem stopped happening
Oh good! I did get an alert on my email that a new update is ready. But I don't have the phone, traded it up for a Pixel.
This is 7.1.1 and not 7.1.2?

After updating to Tizen 4, unread messages are not stored on S3. I get a message and can view it ad hoc on the watch. So far so good. But if I can't read the message right now, it won't be saved. On Tizen 3 I could swipe to the right and there were all accumulated messages, mails etc.. With Tizen 4 there is - despite received messages - "no notifications...choose apps you want to notify".
The fact that unread messages are no longer stored is a deal breaker for me. It's a bug or feature?

In the messages and email apps you can see all your phone's messages and emails, however, not just notifications. I guess none from other apps, though.
For sure. If you use the standard apps the message is saved. But the yellow point which shows you missed notifications is not there anymore and the leftside notifications menu is still empty. So i've got no chance to read missed insta, fb, wa, twitter notifications anymore. That ist anoying. Can i switch back to tizen 3? Cause with this issue the watch is useless for me.
I have the same problem, is this a tizen 4 issue or a muss configuration on the user?
For me the notifications just popping up on the watch for 1sec and the watch vibrates, than it's gone and I don't have this orange dot anymore from tizen 3.

Did not find a solution.... I have reseted the watch x times, deleted data from the phone app, synct my settings with one of my colleagues, but it's not working for me. My colleague has tizen 4 as well, but it's working for him.
I found a very simple solution, and surprisingly it worked!
You just have to reboot the watch (lower button pressed until you see the message "reboot").
I just don't understand why a simple reboot does the work and a full reset of both the watch and the phone app doesn't .....
Please let me know if it also works for you!

Hello All
Ive got the GW4 46mm BT classic paired with a Note20U both up to date , woke up this morning after watch been fine for a week and put my watch on but no notifications coming thru to the watch did quick restart on both no go.
Reset the watch and only some notifications come thru no email or texts tho whatsapp is ok , checked settings nothing has changed.
Uninstalled galaxy gear app and reset watch still the same missing certain notifications even tho they are ticked .
Watch is set to show even if phone is open.
Any ideas ?
You may need to turn on notifications for the specific apps in the wearable app. I had to do this as I was getting no notifications for any apps.

I've checked all the settings and all ticked . Emaids via the Samsung app now work but texts messages have now stopped showing on the watch even tho notification is ticked !!!

As I never had this problem with the old generation watch I got before (Gear S3 running Tizen), I think we have just to wait for the 1st product OS update.
Youth problems are common on first releases. I hope first OTA will fix this annoying problem.

Same here. Text messages and phone calls appear fine. WhatsApp is a hit and miss, sometimes pops up, sometimes just silently shows the notification dot.
In general, regardless of this bug, notification management on this watch is a mess, very poor user experience.
Some things I noticed:
1. If you're driving with Android Auto, it's impossible to respond or take action on a notification on your watch. Anything you click on (such as 'Delete' on an email notification or 'Mark as Read' on a text message) seemingly registers on the watch but the notification persists and no action is taken.
2. The notification indicator is useless if you have the watch set to wake up the screen when you get a notification. Basically it wakes up the screen to display the notification and from that point on it's considered 'read' so the indicator won't appear, even if you didn't actually look at it. They should've had an option to show the indicator while you have uncleared notifications.
3. Multiple notifications from the same app require you to click on a tiny number icon at the bottom of the notification. Inconvenient. (Think when you have multiple WhatsApp messages from different contacts).
4. Looking at a notification screen gives you no indication of whether or not you have other notifications, you have to try to swipe left to check.
5. To clear a notification while it's open -- you either have to click 'back' to the main notification screen and then swipe up or scroll all the way down to find the 'clear' button -- which sometimes isn't there and you have to click on 'More...' first. How about just allowing me to swipe to dismiss it after reading it?!
They'e put a lot of emphasis on health, but given very little thought about the basics.
I can only confirm and complain that I get 0 notifications from Whatsapp even though I've checked all the notifiation settings multiple times. Also even though I've got the wear os version of telegram installed, the telegram notifications I get are standard notifications that can't show e.g. pictures or voice messages.
It was working fine when I got it on tuesday. It even worked fine after the "day 1 OTA". And now I get nothing at all. Tried everything from granting more permissions to the Watch4 Plugin or disabling battery optimization and stuff. Restarted both devices a lot. It just stopped working. I am glad I am not the only one...

An update for you mine started getting notifications texts,Samsung emails etc . Gmail shows randomly but no vibrate or sound on Gmail other notification have this ,
I don't have a clue whats changed to fix this I already had OTA just woke up a few days ago and they were working phone was upstairs watch downstairs overnight ?!?

Weird... well I guess I have to wait. lol
Update from me as well. I turned off both phone and watch and turned them back on together after a few minutes. I don't know why it works but it does.
Edit: Nvm it worked for like one notification and then it stopped working again...
Restarting both devices helped me.
I played around with a bit more. Restarting both devices helps...for a while. As soon as the watch reconnects to the phone (i.e. you move too far from your phone) it stops working. Very annoying still.

I'm has been fine since it started working last week had few disconnects while walking away from phone but coming back in to range and its reconnects fine and notifications a work .
It does repeat whatsapp messages that I previously read and gmail still not vibtrate of sound ,

I have the impression that all the notifications work fine now: Gmail, WhatsApp, Nuki, telegram, Smartthings, messages, Gtask.
Hope it will stay ok.
Mean reason for me is having phone on silence but I can see notifications on watch.
Btw the watch 4 classic is a real beast.
What version of plugin do you have?
I still have no gmail vibrate.
