Stylo 2 Plus Nougat T-Mobile Keep Root? - LG G Stylo Questions & Answers

T-Mobile started rolling out 7.0 a couple of days ago for the Stylo 2 Plus. I started to get update last night but the update stopped when it hit my custom recovery, TWRP.
Has anyone isolated the ROM from the whole package as a flushable. Zip? I definitely don't want to loose root or custom recovery.

Which version
If you have the K550, it is not nougat, was version R. So doesn't matter! Ha.... but srsly, it is not nougat. LG is still lying to us, telling us we are getting Nougat. Don't know if I even want it now. Thinking of going to Moto g5.
Btw, this is the G Stylo forum, not the Stylo 2 plus.

Will i Still Get System Updates if i Root my LG G Flex 2 ?

I am planning to root my G flex 2 ...
My doubt is that if i do so Will i still get System Updates or will they discontinue to give updates ....
Please guide me !!!!
OTA updates, sadly, no. You can root and unroot though, there are many threads on the forum. Look for them..

So if i rooted my flex 2 ,how will i know whether a OTA update is available ????
I have a Lenovo Tab ,which i rooted .In that i still get OTA updates ...
Like that why cant i get OTA updates in my g flex 2 ??
Different companies have different policies, for example Sony are quite happy for you to unlock your bootloader (voiding your warranty) and LG Won't allow us to unlock our bootloader. And to be honest I've always found out about new OTA updates on XDA way before my carrier get the update. If getting the latest ROM is such a big issue for you I'd suggest you remove root as I don't see LG changing their policies any time soon. And if your wanting Marshmallow when it comes out you can only root it with an unlocked bootloader at the moment, something we don't have.
According to news, LG will soon release marshmallow update to G Flex 2 .
So, mine is a AT&T model H950 ,running lollipop also rooted.
If I want to install the update what should I do next?
Please explain as I am not a expert,Just a newbie .
Will unrooting help ?
I rooted my phone using Kingoroot which also has a unroot option.

Buy New LG G3 (ATT) - Yes or No? Lolllipop bugs?

Howdy folks,
I was going to buy a new ATT LG G3 (D850) to replace an aging Galaxy S3. At $250 it seems a good deal.
Then I read the bad news about how lollipop 5.0 push screwed things up? Should I stay away from this due to Lollipop 5.0 issues?
[I generally don't put custom roms due to lack of time, but if there is one that's bug free/stable I can consider that]
Thanks
I would recommend go for newer phone than older model. Try LG G4 or Samsung phone as your new phone.
As far as lollipop issues in LG G3, I didn't find any issue in my phone, I was very much happy.
Hope this helps.
I just got a new g3 from someone off CL. Definitely worth it. Took me 5 mins to root and put resurrection mm on here. Phone flies and no major bugs that hinder me from loving this phone
While I would recommend a new model (for LG the G4 or V10), the G3 is not a bad model for $250, especially if new. In regards to Lollipop, there are some minor bugs, but no more than I have seen on any other model in my opinion. I have not really noticed any bugs
It depends on what you want to do with your phone. What I mean by that is so you want custom roms? Or at least want to root and install a custom recovery?
Idk about ATT but I'm on Verizon and a lot of there phones have locked bootloader or no way to loki hack and install a custom recovery so that's one reason I still have my g3 after a little over a year and have not bought a g4 [emoji14]
So I say if that's what you want do some research and see what ATT phones can do that.
Also would be using a contract update or just buying it straight out, if it's a contract try to get something newer if you using a contract not the g3 is a great choice I'm running cm 13 and love my g3

Well I have had my verizon G3 since August of 2014 so it's been rooted ever since I got it . But from what I have seen on forms. You should be able to downgrade the software from the latest to older ones then root and install twrp. Unless the latest update blocks that

Rollback/downgrade to 5.1 (H81010o) from 6.0?

Thanks to this whole phone slowdown and DIE/bootloop fiasco, I've had to get a replacement G4 from AT&T through warranty. They sent me a 506 with 6.0 installed... so kind.
Anyway, I have no intention on using an unrooted Android again. I've heard that one can downgrade the G4 from 6.0 back to 5.1 or Lollipop period but no one has actually said HOW. Could someone help? I already have my old H81010o stock image file if that'll help.
Here's how I did mine the other. However, I'm not sure what an mine is. Its a U.S. AT&T h810 that came with H81020n.

[Completed] Android 6.0 Marshmallow: Will my phone get it?

So I was wondering if my phone is "young" enough to get the marshmallow update and after a lot of googling I could not get a clear answer...
I own the LG Optimus G Pro E986 and it is almost 2 years and 9 months since the manufacture date and its current OS is Jellybean...
I searched on some sites and found out that LG will allow the marshmallow update on LG G phones first, if I remember correctly, but is LG still updating Optimus G Pro phones? Is there still a way I can get marshmallow? If not, I guess I will install lollipop and would appreciate if you could suggest a good ROM for my device!
Thanks

Hello,
This forum is for newbies finding their way around XDA Developers, it isn't a development forum.
You may head over to Optimus G Pro Android Development and find an appropriate ROM for yourself.

Stylo 2

Hy, just wondering if there's anything for the LG stylo 2, meaning about recovery ,root, and hopefully roms?. Thanks

Boost is billing the neutered version of the LG G Stylo as the Stylo 2. And if you have already updated to 6.0 there is no current way to root or rollback to 5.1.1.

I'm currently living in México. It just came out last weekend. It came already with M 6.0.1. I'm guessing that I will have to wait for a while. Thanks for getting back to me.

Theres hardly any ROMs for the original Stylo so who knows. Seems we got left behind.

I think Nemo is confused. As was said earlier there Stylo 2 just came out. It came with 6.0.1 The G Stylo came with 5.1.1 and could be up or down graded as you saw fit and if you were willing to do the work of restoring kHz's etc.
These value phones seem to get left behind quite a lot. I think the G Stylo only had ...2 custom roms? Both Lollipop. When the 2 came out I jumped on it. This far nothing really can be done to it. People are working on root, and I've been doing my own searching for it. It looks to be a sleight ways away tho. Just be patient and enjoy the phone as it it. It's still pretty good

Actually I am not. Now there is a real Stylo 2 but Boost marketed a cut down version of the Stylo with 1gig of Ram and an 8gig rom as the Stylo 2 at the time of the previous post. And once you had 6.0 on it any tampering beyond basic file maintenance popped some form of tamper seal that made your phone brick with a 1003 error. So no you could not roll back because Boost never released a kdz and with a tamper proof bootloader we could not generate one. The T-Mobile and Metro version could be unlocked, rooted, and romed. That one had 2 gigs of ram and a 16gig rom. So no not confused you are just late to the party. (Also I owned the phone op and I were speaking of, hard to be 'confused' when starin at it.') The one you are speaking of was just released this month to the prepaid markets.
Sad to read no rom for the LG stylo 2
yup, it's 2017 and still literally nothing. guess this phone is "left out" and no one seems to have this phone to experiment on it and root it.
