So I was wondering if my phone is "young" enough to get the marshmallow update and after a lot of googling I could not get a clear answer...
I own the LG Optimus G Pro E986 and it is almost 2 years and 9 months since the manufacture date and its current OS is Jellybean...
I searched on some sites and found out that LG will allow the marshmallow update on LG G phones first, if I remember correctly, but is LG still updating Optimus G Pro phones? Is there still a way I can get marshmallow? If not, I guess I will install lollipop and would appreciate if you could suggest a good ROM for my device!
Thanks

Hello,
This forum is for newbies finding their way around XDA Developers, it isn't a development forum.
You may head over to Optimus G Pro Android Development and find an appropriate ROM for yourself.

I have an LG Optimus Elite, running Android 2.3, and I was hoping to upgrade it to a higher OS, particularly 4.0, if possible. I'm a noob at this kind of thing, so perhaps someone could help me out?
And yes, I have rooted my Android and have tried updating the phone through official updates, and there were none.
Thanks plenty!
so i'm an advanced PC user, have jailbreak'd and installed custom OSs on iDevices but didn't didn't really used android smartphones much. i got a Moto g 2nd gen last year which was updated to android lollipop 5.0.2 2 months ago and looking forward to root it. so here are some questions:-
1. will i be able to get OTA updates?
2. is there some way to revert if something goes wrong while flashing a new Rom?
3. can i break my phone forever?
4. rooting my phone will make it slower?
5. if i can not receive OTA updates after rooting can i get back to stock and start receiving OTA updates again?
so thats it. thanks!

Hello everyone,
I am wondering if there is any confirmed source, the way, to update my Lg g pro 2 to the 6.0 marshmallow ? I found many sites with "working, no bugs" versions but Im little bit worry about to use it in my phone. My device is not rooted, it is not branded, just clean lg soft version 32gb.
Can anybody show me proper checked source to update my phone ? Is it possible without flashing ? If I have to flash it then no problem I just need a tip, step by step what to do, where do I have to click, what kind of tools do I have to use etc.
I'm kinda new fish in this pool so, try to help me instead of laughing at me, Thank you.
Those are spam sites.if update comes xda will be the first to know and hoping custom 6.0 will be out
Hy, just wondering if there's anything for the LG stylo 2, meaning about recovery ,root, and hopefully roms?. Thanks

Boost is billing the neutered version of the LG G Stylo as the Stylo 2. And if you have already updated to 6.0 there is no current way to root or rollback to 5.1.1.

I'm currently living in México. It just came out last weekend. It came already with M 6.0.1. I'm guessing that I will have to wait for a while. Thanks for getting back to me.

Theres hardly any ROMs for the original Stylo so who knows. Seems we got left behind.

I think Nemo is confused. As was said earlier there Stylo 2 just came out. It came with 6.0.1 The G Stylo came with 5.1.1 and could be up or down graded as you saw fit and if you were willing to do the work of restoring kHz's etc.
These value phones seem to get left behind quite a lot. I think the G Stylo only had ...2 custom roms? Both Lollipop. When the 2 came out I jumped on it. This far nothing really can be done to it. People are working on root, and I've been doing my own searching for it. It looks to be a sleight ways away tho. Just be patient and enjoy the phone as it it. It's still pretty good

Actually I am not. Now there is a real Stylo 2 but Boost marketed a cut down version of the Stylo with 1gig of Ram and an 8gig rom as the Stylo 2 at the time of the previous post. And once you had 6.0 on it any tampering beyond basic file maintenance popped some form of tamper seal that made your phone brick with a 1003 error. So no you could not roll back because Boost never released a kdz and with a tamper proof bootloader we could not generate one. The T-Mobile and Metro version could be unlocked, rooted, and romed. That one had 2 gigs of ram and a 16gig rom. So no not confused you are just late to the party. (Also I owned the phone op and I were speaking of, hard to be 'confused' when starin at it.') The one you are speaking of was just released this month to the prepaid markets.
Sad to read no rom for the LG stylo 2
yup, it's 2017 and still literally nothing. guess this phone is "left out" and no one seems to have this phone to experiment on it and root it.
Hi, I have got a LG G Pro 2 F350K model running on stock Android 4.4.2. I would like to change the OS from Korea version to international one and at the same time, upgrade the OS to at least Android 6.
I have never done it before and I want to choose the safe upgrade option. Not keen to have the latest android.
Could somebody please guide me ? I need step by step guide or somebody to walk me through the upgrade.
thanks.
anybody?
its depends on which file extention of firmware do you have.
if you have .kdz, use LG Flash Tool 2014
if you have .tot, use LGFlashTool 1.8
or you can try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2665209
how to use it? just search G2 forum or G3 forum.
this G Pro 2 forum is dead.
only a bunch of people searching for an updated ROM.
