I have an LG Optimus Elite, running Android 2.3, and I was hoping to upgrade it to a higher OS, particularly 4.0, if possible. I'm a noob at this kind of thing, so perhaps someone could help me out?
And yes, I have rooted my Android and have tried updating the phone through official updates, and there were none.

I got the LG optimus M and well.....it's pretty crappy....BUT I can make it less crappy, of course that means rooting it, which cannot be done due to the 2.2.1 update it comes with. TL;DR Is there a way to downgrade form 2.2.1, without bricking my phone?
I currently have the LG Vortex, Android 2.2, and it seems as though Verizon has an update out -$Link to verizon forums - PM me for link& - According to them i need to come here. The update is fairly big, involves an OS update as well as other enhancements. But when i attempt to run the update it fails, and i cant help but think its because of my rooted phone (z4). Am i just S.O.L for the update or can i do it another way?
If you rooted and then removed stock apps, you are SOL for the OTA. To get the OTA, the update program looks to match to the original stock apps (City ID, VZ Navigator, etc) If you removed any stock apps, the update will fail.
Try heading over to the Vortex forum and look through the ROMs there. Chances are there is a CWM flashable zip version of it that will let you get past this problem.

afaik no optimus phone is compatible with the lg vortex
Dear Sirs,
This will be my first time to root my Phone LG Optimus 3d. Please can somebody help me by giving me guide on how to root my phone easily. I also need to know which rooting software would be compatible to my LG-P920, it is running on Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 and software version LGP920-V20f-APR-24-2012 and which firmware would be the best to install after rooting.
I am doing this because i'm already tired of waiting for the ICS update from LG. By the way i will be using windows 7 through VMware Fusion on my mac (is it okay?).

Hello there. I have a 1 year old SIM-free LG G2 which seems to be stuck with 4.4.2 forever. LG could not say when Android 5.0 is coming and i'm fed up waiting and quite frustrated. Tried the LG Mobile Support Tool but for some reason the software don't support Mac computers.
I consider myself just below "expert" level when in terms of experience an Android device. Is there a simple and easy way to flash an Android 5.0 ROM to my G2 using my Mac? (so i can take advantage of the new features and stuff)

So I was wondering if my phone is "young" enough to get the marshmallow update and after a lot of googling I could not get a clear answer...
I own the LG Optimus G Pro E986 and it is almost 2 years and 9 months since the manufacture date and its current OS is Jellybean...
I searched on some sites and found out that LG will allow the marshmallow update on LG G phones first, if I remember correctly, but is LG still updating Optimus G Pro phones? Is there still a way I can get marshmallow? If not, I guess I will install lollipop and would appreciate if you could suggest a good ROM for my device!
