Weird situation here. I got myself a black 128gb Verizon Pixel XL activated on Sprint. Everything works great. Enhanced features on the Google messenger app works just fine. Just today, I got my wife a white 128gb Google version regular Pixel. It as well is activated on Sprint. Obviously some apps needed updated in the play store including Google messenger. So she is on the newest version of messenger and when I try to setup enhanced features, it acts as if it's going to turn on but then goes back to the previous settings screen. Anyone else experiencing this with the rcs enhanced features on Google messenger? Don't get why it works on my phone but not hers. I've already tried uninstalling it, force closing the app, clearing cache and data. All are no go to fix it.
Update: nevermind, after 24 hours, enhanced messaging started working on her Pixel. not sure what the issue was.

Hello,
When I was stock, I could turn off my background data and I would not get all the annoying updates from ebay or yahoo mail. Now I have rooted and running Eclipse build v2.3, everything seems to be running good, Except I constantly get updates from yahoo mail and ebay apps. I have background data turned off (even when I open google play, it says to enable background data).
Anyone have any idea how to stop this? Thanks!
Besides deleting my YMail app, any way to turn off email notifications? Do I need to post this question somewhere else? Thanks!
I've found a few threads to this problem but since they're a little older and no solution was found yet I thought I'd give it another shot.
My phone is a XT1032, retail bought in Germany. Kitkat 4.4.4, no root and just a few apps from the Playstore, nothing special at all.
It seems that ever since I switched from the built-in Motorola (?) Messaging app to Google Hangouts my texts get sent twice, meaning a few people complain about getting them twice even though Hangouts shows just a single message. My settings are changed to use Hangouts as my default messaging app, and I'm using Hangouts (as Messaging before) with read receipts turned on.
To get on to this weird behaviour I changed my default app back to Messaging plus uninstalled all Hangouts updates. And now it works fine.
I'd rather use Hangouts, though. Any suggestions?
I hope this'll be fixed in Lollipop...
Nope it's a long problem... try deleting Google framework cache
Thanks for your response. I tried it out, but it didn't work. I keep using Messaging for now and set my hopes in Lollipop.
Running full stock 6.0.1, and I just got this phone last Friday. I noticed over the weekend that certain apps are not showing notifications, specifically ESPN and USA Today. I tried signing out/in to the apps again, and uninstalling/reinstalling the apps, but I'm still not getting notifications. I got them on my other devices, so I know the issue is not server-side, and stuff like Gmail/Facebook/etc work just fine, so I know it's not a global issue. Anyone seen this issue before?
Looks like the issue was some incompatible setting from my OP3 when I transferred data by touching the backs of the phones during the initial setup. Rooted the phone this morning, which wiped it, and now all my notifications are working.
Hey All, my google assistant on my pixel 2 stock rooted June patch on verizon is having odd behavior. It seems that localized commands will work such as, "hey google, what is the weather" or "okay google, turn off mobile data".
When i ask something that requires assistant to go out to thew web for results, it will recognize the command but then it will show the three dots as if it's searching but never return results. Another strange thing is that when i ask it to call my voicemail, it will do the same thing but if i turn off mobile data, it will make the call .
i've tried clearing google app data and cache. i've also taken the SIM out and put it back in but the issue persists.
anyone else ever experience this? any suggestions?
i re-downloaded and re-flashed the system image. issue persists.
Fixed it. Needed to uninstall the Google app updates. I updated again via the n play store and it continued to work
Hi,
Google Messages (both the beta and the standard version) keeps crashing. On my Fold 1st gen, I never had any issue...
For now I reverted back to Samsung messages but the RCS doesn't work (even though the setting is there) so I'd rather go back to Google Messages...
Anyone else having the same issue?
I tried clearing both the Google Play Services and Google Messages storage, doesn't make a difference as after a few seconds I get the Android message that Messages keeps crashing.
For what it's worth, I was able to fix my issue by installing the Google app "Carrier Services" which was missing from my Fold2 and is apparently used by the RCS protocol of Google Messages...
Now it's all good
