[REQUEST] Sleep app standelone - Samsung Gear S3

Hi!
I just bought a Gear S3 and I want to have the smart sleep feature. I tested Sleep as Android, but it isn't a standalone app and it drains my battery a lot.
I just bought G'Night app but I can't seem to remove the HB sensor cause I don't need it. And I can't put the time for example between 6:10 and 6:40.
Anyone have an alternative? Did anyone test this app? Does it get updated regularly?

Is there a reason why you can't use the SHealth sleep monitoring feature?

If I'm not mistaken, s health can't wake me up when it is the good time in the morning depending of how I sleep. Sleep as Android or gnight watches that and wakes you at the correct time in your cycle (I sleep very bad :/ ).
I contacted the maker of gnight but no response (HB sensor, s health sync, time to wake).

battery drained 30 percent overnight? normal?

Hello, my battery was at 60 percent last night and this morning it is now at 30. I went in and looked at the battery data and Google plus was at the top of the list at 33 percent. Suggestions?
It's not normal, turn off location when you're not using it.
Uninstall it

Plug it in when you go to bed? That ways it's 100% when you wake up.

Haha, I'm trying to find the cause of the problem and why other people don't experience these issues.

No need to list all your apps when you know Google+ is the culprit
There is an option within settings to sync photos over Wi-Fi only and while on charge, much more efficient unless you really need to backup all the time
Additionally for general gains, you could use another app to turn off data/Wi-Fi or toggle airplane mode overnight, unless you need it syncing while you sleep

Google+ isn't syncing photos because all of my photos are synced.
It was probably syncing something overnight though right? Worth having charging setting anyway
Ironic that an official Google app will have
e such a high wakelock...
Perhaps try something like greenify?

No because I flashed back to stock a couple days ago to reapply mods and haven't taken any pictures yet.. I have greenify so i'll watch my battery level and then use greenify if I need to. Still weird though. I also totally shut off location now (was on battery saving) so I'll see what happens overnight this time.
install wake lock detector thank me later

usual stuff:
hotword detectionn/off?
wifi scanning even when its offn/off?
rogue app?
higher up you can
install a wakelock detector and check which apps does the "batman"
would have been helpful if you had at least attached the screenshot of the battery stats.
Best hope: Install a wake-lock detector. Check for app.

Google+ will sometimes cause small wakelocks on my phone overnight as well. Although, it doesn't appear as bad as yours. If it doesn't "sync" overnight, I only lose 1-2% that night. If it does sync, it shows that it kept the phone awake for about 10min. But even then, I'll only lose about 5-7% that night (definitely not 33%). I, too, have it back up my pictures over WiFi. This wakelock is random. Sometimes it happens during the day, and sometimes at night. I doesn't really seem to correlate with me taking pictures that day or not.

A genuine query... how much battery does the hotword detection use? Has anyone noticed a difference on/off?

It's only draining when you're at a home screen so while it's not consistent it will decrease SoT slightly. It only saves you from making 1 screen tap on the mic icon so the trade off is questionable.

Is it set to only sync when plugged in and on Wifi?
This time it went from 89 to 49, probably because in the morning I started getting notifications. Anyways Google plus is no longer on the battery list. Attached are screenshots of anything I think might be useful.
Press on 1013, does it give more information?

Sleep tracking / time control / night profile

Hello,
the missing sleep tracking ist terrible, it seems the last update changed nothing.
Is there an app allready?
Is there a possiblity to do a night profile (without gesture for screen on)?
Greetings, vastl
For sleep tracking I really suggest G'Night app. I have it for about a month and it's really good. Worth the 3 dollars it cost. Today the app got an update and added monitoring you're heartbeat and improve stat and graphs. The only minus is that you can't export the data out of the watch.
Sleep as android is great if you don't mind the battery drain and know how to install it. Its significantly better than gnight and its only $2 more. There's tons of settings and the data is stored on your phone so you can see much much more information.
As for a "night" profile, do not disturb turns off gestures and vibrations. Drag down from your watch face and tap the middle button. Just keep in mind you have to enable and disable it manually. There's no automation, which kinda sucks.
Agree it sux big time it is not implemented in an official way.
This is a functionality every smart-band out there have!
Is there not a app that uses just your watch? I don't want to lay my phone on my bed. I actually just want to track how often I wake up like on the fitbit.
I heard the makers of sleepbot are making an app for S2 Gear also.

That would be. G'night. Just make sure you also turn on airplane mode to get it to work well

I am using DnD mode. Whats difference between both? Airplane doesnt wake up at all?
OK here is my question for those of you doing sleep tracking. When do you charge your watch. Mine had about 40%battery left when I go too bed. Then when I get up there is only about 1 hour where I could charge before I leave for work.
I charge my watch before bedtime. When i wake up i have like between 80-88% battery left. With that i can wear the whole day the watch. At the evening it will be around 40-50%.

Airplane turns off BT, wifi and NFC so your watch is not communicating with your phone. DND just turns off notifications so your phone doesn't light up. I have DND on all the time to save battery. With G'night your phone wakes up briefly when it is taking your pulse

Is there anything that deactivates the rotating bezel, find it does not take much to wake the watch that way when sleeping

I enjoy seeing my sleep tracking data in Samsung S-health. The watch automatically records it, then uploads it automatically when you check S-health.
I saw some people having trouble where their sleep graph wouldn't show, to avoid this let the S2 upload the data, in other words, dont say yes i was asleep during such and such time, because that's your phone, not the watch info.

Sleep tracking on Samsung Gear S2

Hi, I've connected my gear s2 with gauzy note 5. I can't find any option to turn on sleep tracking despite I can see a screen shot on the official s health app page on google play showing sleep tracking data. Can someone help me to find how.......

For now, your only option is an app called Sleep as Android. Get both the watch app on the gear store and the android app on google play. Takes some set up, uses a lot of watch battery, and still a work in progress. But it works.
There's also a stand alone app called G'night
Sent from my SM-T330NU using XDA-Developers mobile app
Thanks for the help. I've tried both, sleep as android and G'night. I think sleep as android is more intuitive and informative. I really didn't notice much battery drainage on both devices with a little tweaks.

Gear s2. Sleep tracking?

Hi, how does the sleep tracking works? do i need to wear it all night?
yes it uses the watches accelerometer to track your movements and determine your sleep phases based on movement, sleep as androids add-on will use about 10 to 20% battery over night but is a lot more accurate at tracking sleep than the samsung app it can also export automatically to s health as a partner app there by replacing the standard samsung sleep tracking

My Gear S2 sits on the charger over night, not on me. I don't need, nor want, sleep tracking anyhow. But that is just me...

Question Frequent Syncing Battery Drain

I'm just wondering what everybody thinks of the "Frequent Syncing" setting in Samsung Health. For anybody that doesn't know what that is, basically it uses more battery to ensure your step count is always up to date and matching accurately between your watch and phone. The description specifically tells you that it uses more battery which is important to note because that means it's significant enough to notice.
Frequent Syncing is on by default. To Toggle it on/off, Launch the Samsung Health app on your PHONE (Cannot be edited on watch). Tap on your steps to bring up the Steps breakdown menu. Tap the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner, and then tap the Frequent Syncing option. There you'll be able to change it and see a description of it.
Back to my original question, is that battery drain negligible and does anybody have an estimate as to how much drain the Frequent Syncing actually is responsible for?
dont even have this option there maybe becouse iam blocking sensor acces for samsung health couse this stupid app count steps even when iam watching some memes : p.
my battery last +/- 3 days gesture to wake on and no aod and 2 days aod on gesture off
44mm standard watch
I also don't have that option on my Health App - and my sensor is not blocked. Strange !

Maybe it's because I had to use the procedure in one of Dante's videos in order to get BP and ECG working on my watch.
These functions is disabled by default in my country - South Africa.

Same here, option is not available on a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
Also, option is not there on my OnePlus 9 Pro!
I've had this turned off for a couple of days, haven't noticed any major difference other than maybe 1-2 hours of extra usage at max.

+/- 3 days is quite a lot I can say. What about other settings? I am with 46 mm lte (not using lte, I do not have eSim) and I can't reach full 48 hours, even with some battery management - Power saver, Airplane mode during I sleep, health measurements turned off.
I bought the watch 4 days ago and I am the second charge cycle yet.

Of course it depends on usage.
Some questions:
1. Have you turned on gestures for answering/dismissing calls and alerts, because I have?
2. Power save mode - do you use it?
3. Regarding the notifications, you men you set it up to turn your screen when you receive notifications?
4. What about calls - do you have any calls on the watch in these 3 days?
5. What do you mean with "plus watch in that sleep mode over night"?
Thanks a lot!
