[Completed] Sony Xperia M4 E2303 . Can't cant find proper rom or get old android version. - XDA Assist

I tried systemless root and after that my phone was only showing sony logo for sec. I tried to install this rom:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/m4...aosp-7-1-1-sony-xperia-m4-aqua-ss-ds-t3558111
it kind of woks but not for daily use. After that i tried CyanogenMod 13.0 but I need original system and with it my phone only loops with sony logo. If anyone knows hot to flash/install original android version or rom that could be used daily it would be huge help.
thank you for your help.

There are a few stock roms in your devices Android Development section in the forum you could try. Here's a random one I spotted that seems like a good option:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/development/rom-6-0-1-xperia-m4-aqua-t3423264
The key is to go with a stock, or stock-based, rom for the best stability.
Or you could reflash the actual, official, stock rom from Sony themselves. They have a tool called Xperia Companion that can reflash the latest rom on any Xperia device with a locked bootloader: http://support.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/xperia-companion/
If your bootloader's unlocked, you might be able to use "Emma" instead: https://developer.sonymobile.com/open-devices/flash-tool/use-the-flash-tool-for-xperia-devices/
Hope this helps!

Problems installing a cfw for the first time (xperia x8)

Hello,
I recently acquired a Xperia X8 and tried to install a CFW, but i have some issues
So far, as i understood, i'm on android 2.1 root, using xrecovery, my baseband is 015, build 2.1.1.A.0.16, the cell is the international version ( not the american one ).
I tried to install FroyoBread v023b and i also tried the GingerDX v017, following closely the guides, and no matter what i try, i end up always stucked at the logo ( either froyobread or i don't remember what is written on the second one ). My x8 simply freeze at these logos, and i finally go again to the xrecovery menu, restoring my backup and am still on 2.1 root.
If anyone have an idea of where i did wrong and how to make me install finally one of these roms, it'd be really nice =)
Thanks
reply

I tried to install the GingerDX v017, I install rom manager and when I try to install CWM there is not X8 on phone list.
I sucesfully install Fdxperience with xrecovery and restore to 2.1...
Help me with Rom manager, CWM and GingerDX v017please!
Thanks!
Well, i tried to redownload the rom and install it in case i could have a problem with the file i downloaded ( i doubted of it but who knows u_u ), same problem. i still am freezing at the froyobread logo
- Edit -
I tried just now with another rom, installed using the recovery system, and weirdly, its the same, i freeze at the logo Hackdroid this time...
If I install GingerDX v13 with xrecovery, is it possible to upgrade it to v17 without CWM?

[Q] Updating the Cyanogen Mod 10 (Xperia J)

Hi everyone,
First of all I would like to mention that I really searched and obviously I did not find anything, so please do not spank me for not trying (I used search box and google).
Here's my question, I already have on my beloved Xperia J a version of Cyanogen Mod 10, but I would like to know if in case of update I have to repeat the same process (flashing the boot.img using flashtool etc.), or maybe even downgrading back to ICS, or do I have to only download the Cyanogen Mod 10 and press the update button in recovery menu? I am wondering about that because previously I had HTC Wildfire and back then everything was much much easier.

You just download new fxp cm10 version and flash it through cwm recovery.. without wipe data partition...without flashing ics...
What about installed apps and data? Is everything there after update?

Xperia NeoV stuck at sony logo after installing rom

Good afternoon guys.
So,i try to flash my phone but it says i must enable unknown sources and debuging, but this is not possible, since we are stuck on SONY logo.
fastboot says that the device needs to be rooted first.
SEUS says that my phone uses the latest software,so nothing there.
Also,im not sure if im flashing my phone the proper way,its been a while since i installed HD.
I used Xperia Ultimate HD 2.0.3
so,any help on booting my device?
If possible,i would like to suggest me a better HD version ( i downloaded 5 ) with the proper kernel version..
thank you in advance.

[Q] Xperia E Dual: About CWM and ROM

Hello fellas,
My girlfriend have a Xperia E Dual on stock JB and everything is slow, laggy and freeze sometimes. I tried disabling some apps, removing them from RAM, managing start up applications and nothing seems to be very effective.
I have a Galaxy Tab 2 and also had some lag on stock ROM and thanks to the xda community which offers plenty of ROM's for this device, I'm running a perfectly stable version of CM of Android 4.2.2 and have no lags since. Then, I came to the Xperia E forums to find a ROM to give a better performance to the phone. But for my surprise there's not an official version of CM and neither much stable options for this phone, and also I'm kinda lost in this forums due to amount of phones in the same sub forum.
My first question is, which is the most stable and will give me a better performance for the Xperia E Dual?
How is the easiest and complete method for installing? In my tablet I had to root it, install CWM from Play Store, put the .zips in the SD card and flash through CWM. But I have seen that for this phone the process is quite harder, something related with Fastboot and some cmd commands
Can someone provide me some links and fool-proof information to flash a new ROM?
Thanks in advance and greetings from Brazil!
First, Consider Rooting your phone through here http://unlockroot.com
After that unlock your bootloader here http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com
When doing the rooting I'm sure you already know that Enabling USB debugging and Unknown Sources is a must
Then install CWM and install CM, And of course CM 10 is unofficial build but still works fine and there is a slight error about the Signal carrier labeling "Unknown"
Please hit thanks if i helped

[Completed] How to restore my Sony Z1 back to its original state (custom -> stock recovery)?

Hi, a few months ago I decided to install a custom ROM on my Sony Xperia Z1. In order to do that I first followed [1] to install a custom recovery (I think I followed the tutorial pointed by the link, but I did that a few months ago so I might be wrong). This way or another I installed a custom recovery - now when entering recovery it says: PhilZ Touch 6.59.0, ClockworkMod v6.0.5.1. Unfortunately I didn't have time to play with it and finally I didn't even install any custom ROM. So my Z1 is now on 14.5.A.0.270.
Now I'd like to use the standard OTA upgrade to move to Android 5.1 (14.6.A.1.236) and my Z1 offers me that. But once downloaded the upgrade cannot be installed for some reason (I suspect it's the custom recovery). When the upgrade procedure starts it asks me to reboot the phone, after a while the Android guys and a progress bar shows up, but it stops after like 10% of the progress bar. Once booted back to normal operation the phone says there was an error upgrading software.
So I'm trying to figure out how to bring back the stock recovery hoping that it would solve my problem. I thought about using Xperia Flash Tool (aka Emma) to flash a generic ROM for my Z1 which would hopefully also contain a stock / generic recovery but the tool requires an unlocked bootloader. Unlocking the bootloader would force me to loose my DRM keys and so on. I don't want to follow this path. Is there a way to restore my phone back to its original state before installing custom recovery so that it was able to use OTA upgrades? I'd simply like to use all stock firmware to avoid further complication.
I know it's probably strange to ask on instructions on going back to pure stock software on such forum but you're my last resort.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Wow, this recovery's install is pretty much a toolkit! What I don't get is why it doesn't offer to back up the original recovery. Oh, 'cos Sony does not have a stock recovery.
This post should help. Or this post (for navigation purposes).
Any questions, you can post in the following thread (once you have an XDA account):
> Sony Xperia Z1 > Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > I can't enter Recovery mode what should I do
Or..
> Sony Xperia Z1 > Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > Sony Xperia Z1 Ask Away help thread.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
