[Q] Modem for 930F used on ATT(Cricket) - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

I have a 930F that I use in the USA on Cricket Wireless which uses the ATT network. I am not sure what modem to flash as sammobile does not have any USA ATT modems listed. I am receiving poor signal and would like to update the modem to attempt to remedy this. Does anyone know a good modem to flash for USA ATT use? Can 930U modems be flashed on a 930F?
Thanks,
Orthok

I have a 930F and I am on ATT. Since the time I have installed custom Roms, I always used the latest Modem file. I am on SuperMan v2.2 at the moment. I haven't seen any that have increased my battery signal over any of the others. Maybe someone can chime in of the 930U modem, but frankly, I would just keep to the 930Fs. You must of had a different phone that your comparing your signal quality with your 930F?

Yah my S5 on the same network would receive show better signal. 930FXXU1DQB1 is the baseband I'm showing on my 930F, what baseband are you on?

DQB1, same as yours. Even with low signal, I haven't had a dropped call or any data disconnection, just more battery drain cause the phone boosts the signal reception. When I'm at work, my signal is weak and my battery drains so much faster than when I am at home with a better signal.

[Q] LTE not working after radio update D821

About a month ago I was in an LTE area and browsing xda and noticed a radio update so wanting the latest version I immediately flashed it. I noticed on rebooting that my lte wasn't working and I thought that the settings had just been corrupted but after a full re flash of the system and the modem I still can't get LTE in an area where other 4G phones can. However my HSPA+ works fine pulling 20mbps next to a cell tower.
Wondering if anyone can help?

Three UK Lte bands 3/20

Nexus 5 D821UK
Why don't you flash the old radio on which LTE worked fine?

I did, still no change. I thought that would be the solution too. I might be onto something but not sure? On the APN settings does having the bearer set to LTE make a difference, I never noticed before but noticed that it wasn't set now.

verizon s7 now on tmobile

I have a verizon s7, and just swapped to tmobile last week. I dont seem to have all that great of a signal, and after research realized it was most likely due to the locked down bands that are on the verizon specific phones. SO I used ODIN and put it to the g930U version instead of the g930V . however, I dont really notice any difference in signal (the phone itself is better though! snappier, better interface imo).
So, would I be better off flashing it to the tmobile version, or is there a way to tell if all of my bands are now unlocked and it is in fact tmobile that just doesnt have decent signal in my area (I checked the maps and the areas Im losing/dropping calls show it to be full 4g coverage, though Im only getting H+ or 3g).
Thank you
I don't know about how to check your bands, but why not go to the T-Mobile version and get wifi calling baked in? Also, if you want to stick with the U version, check out this thread on how to get wifi calling:

Flash G930T firmware on a G930U Device?

So it seems that most users are flashing G930U firmwares on their G930T (or G930A or G930V...) devices so that they can debloat, improve battery, etc. But I'm looking to do the reverse to pick up T-Mobile features. I would like to do so for a couple reasons:
1) I would like VoLTE to work and advanced messaging
2) I would like 4x4 MIMO and Carrier aggregation for T-Mobile bands
3) I would like T-Mobile WiFi calling
4) I would like to get faster (monthly-ish) updates from T-Mobile vs the slow updates from Samsung
Anyone have experience with this and get it to work? It seems like it should be possible with the snapdragon, I just can't find any threads about going this direction.

Wait, so just to clarify you don't have VoLTE or wifi calling on the 930U firmware?

WiFi calling is enabled in settings but never connects. WiFi calling is provisioned on the sim/phone line as I can get it to work with my Nexus 6p with that sim, but not the S7. And the VoLTE may be working but how do I check that?
When you're making a call does the icon go from LTE to H+ or does it stay on LTE? If it stays on LTE then you're making a VoLTE call, otherwise it's not.
Guide for jumping firmwares. You'd only be interested in the part about "returning to stock" for flashing the 930T firmware.

I know this an old thread but I just wanted to let everyone know that the ANDROID 8.0.0 G930U firmware (G930UUEU4CRG2) was just released over at Sammobile!
Physically I have the G930V phone... but I've been running the 930U firmware for over a year with no issues. I'd be curious how much I'm really missing (minus the bloat).
WiFi calling and txting seem to work fine.
Updates from tmo vs samsung seem to be about the same +/- a few weeks.

G955N signal unstable in HK after upgraded

Hello all
Have anyone faced an issue that G955N LTE signal unstable after upgraded?
I bought the Korean version in HK with CMHK carrier, when using stock AQDB firmware it went fine, after upgraded LTE signal always no data traffic almost every min., (sometimes signal dropped too and connect)
I also tried installing customs ROM and even flash to G9550 CSC but same.
Any solutions? or actually G955N 4G band is not suitable in this carrier?

Losing network signal

Am new to LG I've a G5 T-mobile rooted using it outside US, the issue is I lose signal alot when am on 3G even when am in a good coverage area. Coming from Htc flashing modems fixed that unless it's an hardware issue. So my question is it possible to flash a different modem on G5? Or any fix or suggestions would be helpful.
