Hi
Do not select nand erase under Odin...unless you are 100% sure on what you are doing
Can you get in Download mode? if so flash a stock firmware again , use CSC file ( not home_csc) , this file contains the PIT ( partition information tables) . It will leave the phone like out of the box

I can't go in download mode and i can't go in recovery mode !

Your last option is to use a USB JIG to get into download mode , buy it or make it.....
The old S2 JIG seem to still work , check here
Guide to make them

Thanks i will try soon !

I aint sure but can anyone show me if the jig works on any s7 devices?mine is also bricked but has been 4 weeks

You've been shown it works, if you read a few posts up ^^^
Buy one or make one, costs about £2 in parts or for the actual Jig

Did you backup your phone and EFS folder? Even if you get a USB Jig without a backup of EFS folder you may not be able to connect to Network. Hopefully you did

My old S3 jig does not work on my Exynos-based S7. Maybe it only works on Qualcomm-based S7s? The jig does work on the 3 different Qualcomm-based Samsung Tabs I have (Tab 4 7.0, Tab A 8.0 and 10.1).

What are you talking about? the tutorial I wrote is exclusively for SGR. In S2 is all about plugging USB jig (or sometimes re-flashing bootloader). USB jig works different way on SGR which is explained in guide.

USB JIG is same for the SGS II and SGR, resetting method is different for SGR.
Well I don't know what kind of jig is that...but usb jig works with the most of samsung android devices (even if sgr is not mentioned there). I've been using the same jig with my SGS2 and SGR. The way it works differs depended on device but it works in both cases.

usb jig is nothing special but it is a resistor of 301 kohm, all usb jigs are same they dnt have any difference.
I have done the reset with a USB jig of s 2 without any issue. It's simple.
Switch off your mobile.plug the jig to your mobile. And restart. It will go to download mode automatically. Then unplug the jig and straight away connect the phone to your PC and flash the stock ROM. Done.

The problem is that since latest v2.3.6, the bootloader has locked access to the mmcblk0bootX partition. So that you can no longer reset the counter as you want. However I have another choice for him ....... just follow the guide here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528256 and makes sure you have done backing up /efs, otherwise you repaired phone is bricked
btw please try to flash 2.3.4 stock rom before if you really want to use the jig mode just to reset counter.
It depends what kind of Odin protocol (DM version) he has. If it's v. 2.0 then USB jig works like a charm (He can even flash XWLA4 - latest 2.3.6 I guess). I had flashed XWLA4, but my DM protocol hasn't changed -It remained as it originally was (2.0). Thus I hadn't any single issues with using USB jig whatsoever.
But I know there are users with Odin Protocol v. 2.1 and there USB jig is useless. And they must use the method you mentioned. Although there must be some easier way to bypass it. In SGS2 all you have to do is just flash the old bootloader and voila. In case of SGR u must go through all these scary steps.

Yep my device is having odin protocol v2.1 as well and I cannot reset the counter as well (well I am prepared to use nvflash instead if anything occurs, and actually I should ask for the donation for getting a new phone just for development as well. Tbh, it is too dangerous to use a daily usage phone just for developement). It was brought in last month only. So you should make a note on the guide saying that if the odin protocol is v2.1, the USB jig reset method doesn't work @ all.
I can confirm that USB jig download mode does not work with odin protocol v2.1.
oh btw my binary counter has gone to 50 times now

[Q] [HELP] Boot loop. Need help regarding PIT file

Hi all.
My note (GT-N8000 16GB version) stuck in boot loop and i can't access recovery mode, only download mode available. I'm doing some research regarding this and found that maybe the solution is by installing PIT file. I found pit file for my device in here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41158546#post41158546
I know that installing wrong PIT file will bricked my device for real. So before I'm doing some flashing I want to ask some question here for confirmation:
1. Did the Russian pit file on above link work to all GT-N8000 16GB in every region? my region is XSE
2. How to install the PIT file? I read somewhere that I need to load it along with stock 4.0.4 ROM from my region and then tick repartition check box. Is that the correct way?
Please help. I'm noob here. I really need some guidance. thanks
I am having the same issue. Why will a PIT file will stop the bootloop?
My Tablet charges and charges while it remains in a loop between srarting and recovery....back and forth. It never boots to Andriod and never enters recovery. Like you I can use the start and volume up key to enter download mode but it does not download anything through Odin or Flasher. Any help will be a ggodsend.
Thanks Anybody.......I have be working on it for a month. I am out of ideas.

Help: tried to flash recovery N8000, failed

Hello, here a plea for help.
I tried to flash my stock N8000 via this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957002

Now the device no longer boots normally. It begins to boot, then hangs on the Samsung logo.

Hello, as the device no longer boots its difficult to tell exactly which device it is, as there are at least 4 devices that seem to fit my device description. I've got the N8000, from GErmany, i received it as part of a package from E-plus. From that information there are 4 device ROM's available....one as late as 2015. Which should i take?

Hello,
I do need some help now. I believe i've followed all directions, but am not having success.
Again, my device is a Samsung N8000 Note 10.1. Purchased from Eplus Germany
I have read the directions in how to use Odin, and have followed them precisely.
Drivers installed.
Original Firmware downloaded (N8000XXUDNL1_N8000EPLDNL2_N8000XXUDNH1_Home.tar). But, in the compresesed file that I downloaded there was also another file (SS_DL.dll). Anyone know what this means?
I copied both files into the directory of Odin v3.12.13.
began Odin, then put the tablet into download mode, then connected it to my computer. There was a sound from my computer recognizing the tablet.
I then added the file firmware file (N8000XXUDNL1_N8000EPLDNL2_N8000XXUDNH1_Home.tar) into Odin under the AP tab. I checked that the re-partiton box was not checked, then klicked onto Start. But Odin failed after about 3 seconds.
Can anyone please help me here?
thanks.
Use tar file only .
<I copied both files into the directory of Odin v3.12.13.>Never heard of that before .
At a guess Odin cannot find the file or its not connected ID Box in odin shows as connected

Hello, sorry but i need some more help here please.
I've downloaded what i believe is the stock firmware for my device from updato.com: GT-N8000_EPL_1_20150303173500_n47626s3xd
This is a zipped package with two file in it:
N8000XXUDNL1_N8000EPLDNL2_N8000XXUDNH1_Home.tar.md5
and
SS_DL.dll
I've put both of these files into the directory where ODIN is. I have downloaded and tried serveral ODIN versions: v1.85, v3.10.6, v3.12.7, v3.12.3, v3.07
None of them work. After loading the tar file, ODIN begins, then after about 3 seconds stops and show the message "fail".
Attached is a screen shot of ODIN once i've loaded the tar file, and one that shows after the fail.
I've also added a picture of my note 10.1 N8000 while in download mode.
Anyone can help me here?
thanks.
Download file .
Unzip file .
Put file on desktop .
Open Odin
Locate tar file only and add to PDA or AP
firmware that you are trying to install is a downgrade and the secure bootloader (sboot) is blocking it.

Hello, and thanks.
What you have described above is exactly what i am doing. Are you saying that the reason it does not work is because the bootloader is blocking it? If so, how do i get around this?
I would really like to "upgrade", rather than downgrade. But at the moment i cannot find any other firmwares for my device. A few years ago I saw several ones, but not anymore.
Do you have a suggestion of which firmware I should install, and where i can get this?
Again, thanks so much for your help! I really appreciate it.

Help with putting new firmware on S7

Hey guys i am very new to this and have done a lot of research and i'm in need of some help, I tried to put new firmware onto my Samsung S7 but it failed, long story short i can't get it to boot up normally now. I can put it into download mode and then the recovery mode.
In Download mode it says this
Product Name: SM-G930F
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
FRP Lock: On
Secure Download: Enabled
Warranty Void: 0
In Recovery Mode it says
samsung/heroltexx/herolte
7.0/NRD90M/G930FXXU1DQJ1
No Support SINGLE - SKU
Supported API: 3
dm-Verity error ...
E: Failed to mount /system (Invalid Argument)
I have done this in the past and haven't had any issues with it, but no matter what i do i cant get it to boot up. I've tried the kies and smart switch to put the normal firmware back on but it says this device isn't supported and so it wont load it on. I have tried multiple firmwares from sammobile using AP,BL,CP and i did put in the CSC one also at some stage.
I hope this is enough information if i have missed anything please let me know, hopefully someone has some answers or suggestions. Thanks guys
Make sure you are using ODIN 3.12.3 or newer, older versions don't work properly
First off, Kies no longer supports Galaxy S7, actually never did.
What you can try, use odin (latest version 3.12.7 I think), download your firmware and include all 5 files in odin. You cannot ignore CSC file.
So in order, put BL, AP, CP and CSC and... pit file.
In order to have pit file, you need to make o copy of CSC file, change extension of that copy file to .zip, extract files and inside you will find pit file. Include it in odin in Pit card.
Then flash your phone and report back.

Try different cable and/or USB port and/or even computer.
Your phone is ok-ish. You only have to manage to flash software and should be up and running.

Okay bit of an update on what i have attempted - Still no luck at all,
Tried different Odin verisons
Tried multiple firmwares all downloaded from SamMobile & Correct country/carrier etc
The BL,CP and CSC all seem to work fine when i do them by themselves or seperately but i can never get AP to work, it always fails at Sys.img and doesn't go any further.. it always fails about 1/4 of the way through
Tried the PIT partition with and without re-partition clicked
Tried different cables and Ports
anyone have anymore suggestions or is it dead

Thats what I suggested earlier on, but there seems to be loads of other threads recently, where people's phones fails at loading "system" in odin.

Cannot help much if there is no details on what your phone bootloader/firmware versions were before flash, and what versions you were trying to flash.
If you were flashing a lower version of BL to your phone, you can flash your original firmware back to your phone.
If you were flashing a higher version of BL, you will need to find a new version of BL/firmware , such as the latest U firmware, to Odin into the phone..

Read this thread

Since you mentioned a Google account, just make sure you know the user and password of the last working Google account on the phone. Sounds like you tried to flash a firmware with an older bootloader.
And if you don't know that info and were trying to carrier unlock it via some back door method, don't follow the thread that I just linked.

Do you receive an error message when flashing? Also, have you tried another USB cable and make sure you use an usb 2.0 port too.

no error message it flashes successfully with odin but when the phone itself starts to update the firmware after 33% it just reboots then fails. then i get a error screen and well no recovery. no one locally seemed to be able to fix the issue either so update: i sent it away to try to fix. https://imgur.com/a/knxKIKM
