No
you can try using an xposed module. needs root
There are some apps on the playstore. Some use proximity sensor and some use accelerometer. Different concepts i know but thats the closest you can get.

Honor 8 already contains this option to hide the navigation bar, do not need this method

What version do you have?
No option to hide it on FRD-L09.
Maybe someone with root can try to add the lines to build.prop and see if it works?
I have no root so i can't test it.
Give this a try:

My version is FRD-AL00.
May be huawei hidden the option in the international version,
because I am Chinese user, so it's available.

Very interesting, it looks like it's only available on Chinese version.
But it means that it should be possible to fix it the international version, maybe it's a easy fix in build.prop.

@lianyi1984 Do you have a download link download link to a FRD-AL00 firmware? (or build.prop)

Sorry, I don't have the firmware download link, because huawei does not provide a full package.
The attachment "build.prop" comes from my own Honor 8.

Thanks.
I have downloaded a firmware and extrected it and from what i can tell, when you install a firmware it will read the version from hw_oem and add from local.prop to build.prop.
I have not found anything about the navbar, maybe someone can look into it to?

Not entirely without problems. Earlier in the soft version of the B120, following inclusion line in build.prop lost the ability to record conversations boldbeast recorder. Today I installed the B131 and after editing build.prop again the same with the BBR. I removed the inscribed line, but I'm still bereft program for recording conversations. I do not know how to fix it, except upload system again.

Hi! I have installed xposed but the modules doesn't seem to work well. I have tried to use gravity box to add brightness control on the navigation bar (sliding the finger over it) but with no results.
Does anyone know if it's compatible? Or emui doesn't work with xposed?
Any other options to add this feature?
Thanks!

EMUI hates Xposed most of the time. This is already reported for honor 5X and honor 7 firmwares.
The only way users could make it work on honor 7 was using Pure Rom by DogiGoon and even he does not know, why it works for his rom and not for official firmware.
In short, don't mix Xposed with EMUI.

Hi, just picked one up (EDIT CORRECTED TO e6603) and am looking to keep the bootloader locked and simply enable the sensor then update to nougat.
Can I safely flash ftf firmware for the e6653 to get it working?
If you own D6603 (Xperia Z3), there's no easy way to get the fingerprint sensor working - simply because it doesn't exist.

Sorry, I made an error, I meant the Z5, e6603.

Does the fingerprint sensor not work? If it is disabled in your firmware, there must be a reason; I wouldn't flash firmwares from other variants.

It is disabled by all USA firmwares. I will wait for someone who can confirm flashing another firmware. Thanks!

If you're familiar with flashtool then you can try it, it says that it was successful:
Here's the thread describing how it's done:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/general/e6653-flash-e6603-firmware-enable-t3307158
You may try this but please note that "Do it on your own risk"
Make sure also to make a backup of your data/files
How Can I Disable Proximity Sensor Without Xposed (I Have Root)
on ROOTED device running on Android 6.0 you can install xposed installer and then via DISABLE PROXIMITY module you can disable the sensor
i don't thinkso xposed is available for android 7.0 yet.. if it has then go for it

The dev has been working on it for quite some time already, so its in the works.
We just need to be patience... but Xposed seems to be much needed for Nougat.
Atleast I can't wait till its here
Now that xposed is available for Nougat. Does anyone know if there is a module that can enable double tap to wake for our lovely honor 8? =)

If I recall correctly, you cannot use a module to enable this feature unless the phone's firmware already has this feature built in.

DT2W is a kernel related setting so you have to have It on the kernel side
