as battery for this model is not in cheap range for me.
Are you rooted? If so what ROM? If you are not rooted that sounds very much like a dying battery.

rooted after a long sturggle since it was updated to 3.20
now after rooting i tried many roms. but problem was getting increased.
after around 10 roms i tried GizRoot_v_2::
my phone is breathing a bit . just a bit better so now i am sure that this is a os related problem.
i have taken 2-3 pics but it still restarts for sure. just the difference is that it is able to take few pics now.
so can any one recommend a new rom which is light enough and this problem is expected to be resolved in that rom?.

Are you plugging the cable into the same adapter as this would provide a different current and charge at a different rate than the stock adapter?

Battery app would be a good thing...... A battery app may help you troubleshoot your issue, they chart battery stats and can tell your battery health.
Seriously it maybe able to help solve your problem.
I live in the USA and got an OTA update yesterday, You should check to see if there is an update available for your area, it may help also.
Have you tried a factory reset and then monitor charging without any apps installed, could be an app causing the issue.

Hey guys,
Am new to the Honor 8, when i bought the device on 17-07-2017, it was running MM but the same day received update to Nougat.
The phone is just awesome in terms of performance and camera, but, yeah, but, the battery. I battery is draining pretty fast overnight even when I have kept the mobile data, WIFI and GPS off.
So if you guys can suggest me some tips to save the drain that would be great.
I also saw a mode under the battery settings which stated as Low resolution power saving, which should reduce the screen resolution to save power.
But I didnt notice any difference visually , also to be sure I checked the resolution using CPU-Z which confirmed that it is 1080 x 1920
Is it a bug? or am I missing something?
Sorry if there is an existing thread for the same.
Try this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/guide-battery-life-nougat-t3623980
Just be sure you don't use power saving modr, it's totally useless
Always backup and factory reset the device first. That usually fixes most software issues with this device, including battery drain.
As for the screen resolution, the app only reads the native resolution of the screen, not the software based down sampling.
And yes, power saving mode does work, but it does so by turning off auto sync. Not my preference but it does work. If yours isn't working, see my first sentence.

Is b340 indian version?
In fact after I received the B340 OTA update, my overnight power drain problem disappeared almost completely, where I used to see a 10/12% drain overnight (between mid-night and 8 AM with phone in airplane mode for that duration) now I see a drain between 1 to 2% only.

Has the camera app improved in Oreo?
Has anyone successfully tried flashing NMI81C to an unlocked device? I can't imagine there'd be a problem, but if no one has done it or seen any problems with it then I know what I'm doing when I get home tomorrow. That was the last build my bluetooth music controls worked with, so I'm pretty excited to be able to flash back to it.

I do not think any app was updated. Unless there is some API in Oreo that would inherently improve the cam.

Oreo running great...only found one bug dealing with wifi hotspot and not being able to select 5ghz as the band to use.
Since flashing Oreo last night I am getting excellent battery life and it appears that I may do better than I was on Android nougat. Personally I really like this phone and no the camera is not the best but for $450 this is probably the nicest phone anyone can hold in their hand at any price point. Once the dads get interested because of price and we can get a port for the Huawei camera I'm sure this camera would do very well

Nice, I will try to flash the Oreo beta of the Unlocked version to my Sprint variants. BTW, do you happen to know how to trigger the UICC unlock menu without having to have the Sprint sim in there and activate the phone? Sprint reps told me the phone is unlocked on their end, but my phone still say invalid sim because the UICC unlock menu has not been activated on the phone itself. Would flashing the unlocked firmware solves this?
Only downside for me so far on the beta is battery life.
On nougat I would go to bed with 100% battery and wake up with 100%.
On Oreo I woke up with like 97%. Keeps dying quicker during the day as well, but this is expected as they mentioned the Oreo framework wasn't optimized for battery life yet.

Not only does it work but definitely recommended as you will get the latest fingerprint sensor fix as well as better screen touches.
I am coming up on 24 hours into this Oreo beta, and it's my daily driver. So far, so good. Battery life seems a bit better for me, although it was great before - hard to do an apples to apples comparison though. No bluetooth issues, in fact, this seems a bit better with Plantronics Voyager/Legend than before - haven't tried in the car yet. I had one spontaneous reboot (I wasn't using it, just sitting on the desk and I noticed it rebooting) but so far, I can't see any reason not to charge ahead. The install did turn off wifi calling, I had to re-enable that. No service/signal issues (on T-Mobile in central Texas).
Does anyone else notice significant battery drain with the official oreo firmware on their 955F ?
With Nougat I could easily get around 7 hours SOT, now it went down to around 4 to max 5 hours of SOT. I am a heavy user (videocalls, normal and bluetooth calls, watch videos, text a lot, etc.).
I have found a thread on another forum of people experiencing the same battery drain click. I just wanted to confirm if people here also noticed it and maybe have a possible solution ?
I flashed Oreo on my S8+ Exynos using this thread. I sideloaded it, although I had to flash the last part (CRAP) with SD card because for some weird reason adb didn't work anymore after flashing the first firmwares (just a heads-up for any of you who want to try to force update their S8/S8+).
Other than the battery drain though I must say the performance is insane, the phone has become an absolute beast (yes, even faster than it runs on Nougat)! But I want my 7 hours of SOT back..
PS. Samsung paused the updates to the "CRAP" oreo update for now, apparantly due to some devices experiencing random reboots (I don't have this problem). So they are only gonna resume the rollout of oreo to the S8/S8+ when they patched this. Maybe this patch will also resolve the battery drain.
I agree the battery life has decreased. I am typically below 40% at bedtime compared to above 50% with Nougat. Could be this is the price for improved performance
Its been a day, give it chance! A phone will use more for the first few cycles after a major update.

I've been running it for 4 days now, didn't really see any improvement yet. After some research it seems S8 users experience the same problem, I found similar threads over there from battery drain with the "CRAP" update.
Guess for now we just have to be patient until the next patch comes out.
Yes. I have the same problem. Used to get plus 6 hours sot. Now getting a little ut above 4.
Same problem and very unhappy about it.
3 hours SOT is about the max. I get when it used to be 5-6.
Has anyone factory reset the device and does that help?

Also there is a huge issue with video recording if you noticed guys specially on 60fps . There is a frame drop while recording and while playing the video

Thank you for the feedback.
This must be a joke from Samsung, very disappointing and has me lose interest in the Samsung brand big time.
While the hardware is really nice, the software is mediocre. Slow updates and now this disaster with Oreo. After 4 months of testing this is nothing short of embarrassing.
Don't even get me started about the Samsung Experience vs. stock Android. Using my 2015 Nexus 5x is a pleasure in comparison. And as of lately with Oreo they are almost on par in terms of battery duration.
Could it be possible that the mix of usage patterns vary and consequently this leads to variations in screen on time.
I have been on OREO ON S8+ since February 9th, I haven't noticed a significant change to maximum screen on time.
Screen on time today just over 9 hours

Exynos or snapdragon?
Im struggling getting 4h SOT.. with Nougat that was easily 6+h
I also have a higher drain with Oreo. But the simplest thing to test is flight mode. I use flight mode for night (about 7 hours) and now I loose 12% every night in flight mode with a Deep sleep of 99%!!!
Gsam or such Utilities shoes nothing, Deep sleep is 99%, doze mode 98% of time and 12% battery drain (around 1.6%/h)???
With data enabled it's not really much more, no idea what's causing this...

I think the new firmware update will fix this battery drain issue
Anyone who can confirm the increased consumption in flight mode (about 1.5% per hour), was about 0.2 to 0.5% per hour with nougat...
Gesendet von meinem ZTE A2017G mit Tapatalk
I can confirm that.
Before the Oreo update I lost around 3-4% of charge over night, now it´s at almost 20% without anything obvious draining the battery. The phone is in deepsleep all the time...
Samsung knows how to ruin their devices with firmware updates.
