Deco 77x, can't install drivers. - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I have a Deco 77x (MediaTek MT6572) and I need to install drivers on my PC to flash a custom ROM.
The drivers are successfully installed but I can't install the last one: "MT65xx Android Phone". I tried reinstalling drivers, rebooting and disabling driver signature enforcing.
I have WinXP Sp3.
Also tried in Win10(Parallels Desktop on my MacBook Pro) with no success, some drivers are not detected in VM.
Is someone knows what can I do?
Thank you!

You're having PC issues, find a PC forum.
This forum is for issues on android, not PC.

Re-tried with another one Windows10 x64 PC(not on VM) yesterday. Same issue. I don't think that it's a PC issue.

Installing drivers on a PC is most definitely a PC thing and not an android thing.
As already stated, find a PC forum and figure out why your driver's won't install on your PC.

Drivers are installed in all my PCs(also Win10 in VM), I can't install the phone.. It's not possible to have same issues in 3 PCs with different OS.

Your issue is with getting the drivers installed on PC, correct?
This is not an issue with something you're doing to the phone itself, it's an issue with getting your PC'S to accept the drivers, that is not an "ANDROID" issue.
A PC forum will help you figure out why your PC's arent accepting the drivers and get them to install correctly.
This forum is for help with things you are doing to your actual android device, not for issues with the systems you are using to interface with your android device.

Ok, but this forum is full of users that have issues with drivers and full of other users that answered and helped to solve.
I do not think it is as bad if I ask here.
My question is for someone that can and wants to help me like in others posts.
Thanks anyway.

Yes, I know driver questions have been asked and answered here before.
My point is you would get better and quicker solution in a PC forum, have it your way though, if you'd gone to a PC forum when I told you, you'd probably already have the solution.
I'm sure you'd rather have a solution as soon as possible, correct? So why not go to where the specialty is PC related issues, the kind of place where they deal with this kind of issue a lot more than it is dealt with here.
Am I making any sense yet? Or are you just refusing to understand?

My goodness. I installed SAMSUNG Kies(kies_win.exe) 2.0.3.11082_152_4 30-Sep-2011 82.5MB
just to get the Windows 7 phone drivers.
My firewall/HIPS needed to authorize about 30 things the install process wanted to do. I have NEVER had an install need so many grants --never. Also, I have a fairly fast computer, and it was the longest install, time-wise, I have ever seen on this machine. This program better make my morning coffee after all that.
Can KIES be uninstalled and leave the drivers in place?
Don't know. Doesn't hurt to keep it around, just in case you need to reinstall drivers again. Did you get kies or mini kies?

Full. The other thread I was reading said you needed the full version to ensure the Windows 7 drivers would work. All I want is the drivers.
Does KIES run as an all-time service and speak to Samsung every time you plug in your phone (Captivate)? If so, I have to find and disable the service, or remove it--but I want to keep the drivers is the problem. Does uninstalling it leave the drivers there?
I also have Win7 x64 running in my computer. I do NOT have Kies installed on my computer and I have only the drivers installed. There is no reason to even have Kies unless you're just a typical end user upgrading to a stock firmware.
On my old computer with Kies, I never remember seeing Kies call home to anything other then the software update server to check for updated Kies versions. All the firewall and traffic logs were clean. (Except for the update check)
Sent from my Captivate
The only reason to haves full kies is the drivers. Officially, the I897 isn't supported by KIES. If you try to connect your phone, it plainly says"device not supported".
let me repeat...in a different thread, many people were reporting that they were not able to "see" the phone sd as a folder when on Windows 7 64bit machines.
Someone else there reported that installing latest full 64 KIES allowed it to work. THAT is why I went to full KIES.
I now have further info... the phone USB connection did work with KIES installed, but after seeing the monster that full KIES was, I uninstalled it. USB connection still worked. End of my issue--which might not have been an issue anyway, as I did not try installing driver-package-only since others were reporting problems with Windows 7 64 doing that. Whew.

Interesting, as I got drilled to the KIES dl package at the Samsung site by selecting my I897 phone model in the page's field's popdowns. It is a very recent date, 30-Sep-2011, so maybe this version does work.
I cannot verify that either way as I did not run it with the phone--only installed it, verified drivers allowed USB connection, then uninstalled (due to size/intrusiveness as described before).
I wasn't aware that full kies could even be downloaded on the Samsung/USA site. When i've dl'd, I had to change my location to UK. Are you sure it's not mini kies?

I don't think 82 MB is mini !!
Got it here
http://www.samsungapps.com/about/onPc.as?COUNTRY_CODE=CAN&LANGUAGE_CODE=ENG
SAMSUNG Kies (kies_win.exe) 2.0.3.11082_152_4 30-Sep-2011 82.5MB
Now I see that a drill down at Samsung, starting here
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/#
leads you to this file
Win XP/Vista/Windows 7 Sep 27, 2010 SAMSUNG Kies, Others (Software) (ver.11011.4) 41.0
ENGLISH
which is different from what I got.
Now I don't know how I wound up on the other site, but, for me, it is a moot point as I have uninstalled it all--except the drivers apparently remained since the phone connects OK.

Waiting for Device?

I have a problem. I just got my Android a couple of days ago and I really badly want to root it. I've tried multiple different programs and with each one the problem I get is "Waiting for device" in the cmd/terminal (Tried on multiple platforms: Vista, Win7, Ubuntu). I've tried installing drivers too and still didn't work (maybe the wrong drivers?).
Yes I realize that I am a "noob", but I really need some help here.
Got USB Debugging enabled ??

Well Redownload the drivers and see if that helps, You could try Hasoon2000's All In One Kit to help with this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604677
As for ADB, (Android Debug Bridge) you should have this already, You need it to get unlock the bootloader and flash superboot (root) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427
Be sure to check out those links and also look at my FAQ section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24884624&postcount=3
I have all the files that it says are necessary to unlock the bootloader. It's just when I type "fastboot oem get_identifier_token" it just sits there saying "waiting for device".
I've tried hansoon's all in one program as well and it didn't work either.
Well that means it cannot find your phone, So the issue lies with the drivers and/or the location from which the command prompt is opened..
Put all of the files into 1 folder called android or adb and move that 1 folder to the root of your C Drive..
This should make navigating easier. Also, In that folder should be adb.exe and fastboot.exe do you have these ?
I fixed this by just playing around with it a bit more. Thanks for the help, though.

Well man, I really wish I could help you out because I remember how frustrating this was for me. This post was 2 and a half years ago though. Just really make sure that your drivers are up to date. If I could remember my exact solution I would help you out for sure.

ok. it was windows 8 not allowing unsigned drivers to install properly. note: not "not installing at all", but "not installing properly". meaning: htc drivers installed somehow, so I was able to see the device and copy files around, but it was not enough for flashing roms.
so I started this guide to disable driver signature:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmw86KplqmU
... but my laptop is a business laptop and this guide demands BitLocker key if hard drive is encrypted (mine is). I also have a windows 7 desktop machine. So I decided to go the easy and quick way of simply doing flashing on my desktop computer. Windows 7 worked like a charm. But I'm sure the guide above would've helped as well. If somebody tries that, please post results.

Cannot connect to One S with Windows XP

Hey Guys
I tried searching and saw a few people with my issue but no real solution. I just got a One S coming from Sprint (Evo4g) and enjoy the One S except for the no SD card thing. I have no issue connecting my phone to my windows 7 machine as a disk drive, but I have 2 computers at work with XP and both do not recognize my phone. I get a "USB device not recognized" message on my taskbar and when I click it, there is no driver installed for my phone. Same thing with both XP machines. OK, so I search the internet for an HTC USB driver, cant find one ANYWHERE, a few sites that seemed to have had them have removed them. HTC website is missing the One S support page entirely right now, awesome. So after I clicked around while I eventually found a link for HTC Sync software and tried installing that. Still no driver was installed and cannot connect that way either. At a loss here, any advice? If so does anyone have any links for actual things to install that can fix this issue?
Feel like a newb here but coming from the EVO i am very familiar with rooting, installing ROMs etc so find it hard to believe this is so difficult.
Thanks!
David

Maybe no one uses XP when there is nothing wrong with Windows 7 but if you rooted already you use Flash Image GUI for flashing boot.img then you wont need a PC to install a rom.

HTC usb driver problem

Hi there
I just got a new laptop running Window 8.1
I want to flash the latest TWRP to able to flash android 4.4 kitkat. But after i install "htc sync manager" and "htc sync", still dont have usb-driver on fastboot mode. So i cant flash the TWRP recovery.
Can any1 help me step by step how to get the fastboot-usb to install the TWRP on Window8?
My phone got everything already, just need the usb-driver, so in the fastboot can recognize the usb, so that i can flash latest TWRP.
(My phone running TWRP 2.3.3.0 already)
(My new laptop had Android-sdk already)
Thank for helping me guys :good:

actually, i did that already, but after that, still nothing change. Even reinstall htc sync manager, but still when i reboot the phone to bootloader and go to fastboot, usb still not working. I dont know why, like i said, i am quite noob, thats why i am asking for some help if any1 know my problem.
Anyway, thanks alot for your help man, very appreciate but the problem still here
PS: another thing is my laptop using AMD cpu, and all of solution is just for intel-usb @[email protected] i cant follow someway, such as this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2347317&page=4
Unfortunately I don't run Windows 8 so I don't have any personal experience with getting it to work. The best solution I've seen people talk about is to use a different version of Windows.
Sent from my Evita.
Run a Linux live cd and use fastboot that way.

There is no signed Windows 8.1 Android driver.
To make it work there is several hoops to jump through. Really its easier to just boot into Linux or use another computer.
Eg my Desktop runs Windows 8.1 but my laptop has Windows 7, so I use the laptop for fastboot.

windows 8.1 wont recognize my htc one x with ICS rom. however when i updated to jellybean 4.1.1 and connected to the windows 8.1, it installed all the required drivers itself and now I am able to connect the phone/fastboot etc. I tried installing HTC Sync previously but that doesnt help cuz while the installation process the Htc Driver Installer fails to install.

Can't unlock bootloader - 3.1 / Android 5.1.1

Hey everyone -
The title says it all! Reading, searching, and experimenting for hours... no dice. Time to ask for help.
I'm trying to unlock the bootloader of my Shield Tablet, but no matter what I do, I can't install the Universal Naked Driver (which I understand to be step #1). I've tried to troubleshoot this to no avail (including turning off driver signature verification, etc.)... Windows 10 refuses to do it, complaining that "Windows was unable to install your Shield Tablet. Windows could no find driver software for your device".
I'm posting this question *here*, because it makes me wonder if something has changed in the last firmware update from Nvidia (I'm running the very latest - LMY48C.35398_567.2193)... so here's my question: has anyone out there tried to root (which requires bootloader unlock) a Shield Tablet with this firmware? If you've been successful, could you point me toward a tutorial I haven't yet read? Thank you!
I think your first issue would be installing the wrong drivers. Install the actual nVidia Shield Family drivers from the gameworks download centre. Next, make sure to try a few different adb versions. Not all of them are identical, and you might have better results with one but not another.
Good luck!
