Hello guys, I wanted to ask some information about the lenovo Zuk Z2 (NOT Pro) camera. I would be interested in the possibility to shoot in RAW (DNG) format, but I still don't have a clear idea wheter there are any rom out there which allow camera2 api usage. Does anybody know if it is possible to shoot RAW, or if there is any hardware limitation in doing so? To be honest, I still don't fully understand if there can actually be any hardware limitation, or if it is only a matter of proper implementation of camera2 api. Thanks in advance, and btw I'm new so hi everybody

well guys, i asked this Question in Ask Any Question thread...but still din't get any reply..
so i think this is not well known and this thread give some attention to it
The question is simple ( and may be silly ) but i really don't know about this....Does camera2 api affects front camera ?
does it improve quality of selfie ? like rear camera does with applications like manual camera or better camera ?
if it does plz share some pics for caparison and the camera apps you are using
The camera2 API can be used for almost any camera sensor. Each sensor has different capabilities (e.g. focus, raw), see here: https://gist.github.com/PkmX/fefff90bab3b6eb2847f
It CAN theoretically be used for the front facing camera, but it's capabilities are extremely limited and somewhat pointless.

Hi all,
does anybody know if there's any ROM which actually supports Camera2 API? Such as COS 12s or any other app.
Thank you
None so far.. Don't think cam2 api will be coming for the one
Hi
Like the topic title indicates.
I like taking photos in my freetime - but do not always take my camera with me.
Is there any way to enhance the performance of the camera.
Actually I know it's limitation - from sharpness performance, I have no major expectations from the 2-year-old midranger.
But it would be more than great if light etc could be enhanced and I should not need to work with messy jpegs.
Thank you
Not a chance, even the on the z5,z3 ect this is down to Sony. It's possible to use the z5 camera2 apk and camera files/libs if rooted using them myself it's about as good as the m2 will get I think on Sony camera files, open camera gives good results. Here's the z5 camera2 files I'm using

Thank you
I was hoping to have a workaround without root
Does anyone know if Android N Developer Preview brings RAW photo shooting to Z3?
RAW photos are supported by the android API since Lollipop, I've tryied many different apps that can shoot RAW photos with an Nexus 5 devices on a Z3, but the RAW option is not supported. I think its more a hardware issue than software...

I am almost certain it is software
Sony didnt include the CameraAPI2 that supports RAW capture. Without that API, no app can capture RAW,.
Can't understand why they would do that? Just out of curiosity, don't see their interest in that.
Android N Developer Preview is not supporting RAW photos in third apps or in sony camera app.

Yay :fingers-crossed:
Edit: F ck I rode that it was supported, but you say it is not, damn Sony your post-processing is the worst with RAW photos this could be fixed
Hi
I have a simple question: Is there any way to take raw photos without camera2 API enabled?
