i have a samsung galaxy s captivate rooted and running cyanogen mod & miui. i've had whats app installed on it since july. i change my simcard to another phone (htc) for work coz i dont want my samsung to get damaged. it also has whats app installed so when i put it in i have to reverify.
likewise when i get home from work and put the sime back in my cappy i have to reverify whatsapp again on it.
i do this mon-fri and have for the past 2 months.
today i went to work with the simcard in htc and was propted to reverify whatsapp. fine. come home and put sim back in cappy. it propmted me to verify went through the process got sent a code text then it said "Initializing" for ages and i keep getting message "failure. sorry unable to complete initialisation"
i've tried rebooting the phone, i've also tried unistalling and reinstalling the app itself.
any ideas whats caused this and how to fix it?
I AM FULLY CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET (WIFI)
it seems there is a problem at their end
sync contacts dosent work thats a problem
if u have backup restore it which i did able to send msg but not able to refresh contacts
lets us hope they fix it soon
so there is an ongoing problem with the actuall app just now?
it said something about previous msgs detected do i want to restore then i clicked yes but again it wont get past the initialization.
Yes ongoing probs
now it seems solved my contacts is up but status msg is shown as error
Restore the whole app if you had backed up with titanium backup or similar apps
WhatsApp status functionality is currently not available. We are working on resolving it soon-ish...

[Q] Uninstalling apps via pc

Hi,
My phone went berserk, ive got a rooted galaxy nexus, my problem seems to be an app thats updated (prolly the launcher app) and something has gone wrong. the screen flickers, there no touch responsiveness, basically the only thing i can do is power off my phone using the hardware button.. The phone does log on to the network, all the calls and notifications register, but im unable to recive calls and do anything that requires touch input.
My question is : is there a way i can uninstall aps from my phone using my pc only ? ive been using the skipsofts android toolkit for all my moding needs, but it doesnt allow uninstalling apps (im pretty sure its possible tho)
if im not able to uninstall the app that screw my phone i will need a factory reset (which is not what i would like)
pls help ?

[Completed] Pre-installed Chinese contacts in my Huawei G6

Hello All,
I bought a dual sim phone Huawei G6 a few days ago. The problem is that it came with some pre-installed Chinese phone directory, which come up every time a dial a number and that's very annoying. I found out that they are connected to my Contacts and Contacts Storage apps. I tried to do everyting with that: getting root access, using Titanium Backup, Root App Delete and so on for wiping up data (only my own desappeared), freezing, backing up and restoring without data but nothing worked.
Tried to download alternative Contacts versions for dual sim, but the system rejected them and I could not input any data there
Titanium Backup clearly shows that there are pre-installed contacts in the Contacts app.
Is there any way I can get rid of them???
Please help!!! It's a new phone and I m planning to use it for some time. Do I really need to have all these Chinese phone numbers in front of my eyes for the next couple of years?...
Thanks,
Ania

Pre-installed contacts ... and you are sure that those contacts are not on your SIM card?
Ok, in the device's contacts app you may have an app menu Settings (or similar). Maybe you can find kind of "hidden" contacts.
Or they come from sync with an account (Google, etc.).
Maybe best idea is to store all your contacts in Google, and enable sync of contacts on your device like described here: Sync contacts with Google.
For your exact device, I only found this threads on xda:
huawei ascend G6 root method!
[GUIDE] Huawei Ascend G6 LTE [G6-L11] (Root & Xposed Framework)
So not a direct answer to your problem.
Hi,
Thanks a lot for your answer. No, these contacts are not on my sim obviously, they came with the phone. I installed Root Browser and I can see them under data/data/com.android.contacts/databases.
I tried to use Root Browser to modify/remane/backup/delete them, but either the whole thing comes back after rebooting or I get the mesage "Contacts have stopped working" when I tap on the dialer or phone book icon, so have to restore them in order to make any calls.
Please help!!!

If none of the links I have provided in my previous answer helps, then post in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Ask Any Question][Newbie Friendly] thread.
Maybe on of the experienced users there has a clue on it.
Good luck !

[Q] Phone app vanished

Phone app vanished after updating from B307 to B313. I can still receive calls and make calls using a 3rd party phone app but this is very weird.
Any ideas?
Well, the 3rd party phone app does its job pretty well. But there is another problem. I can't add contacts to my phonebook. It;s rather a weird bug or the app doesnt have enough permissions. When I dial a number and press add to contacts nothing happens.
I was thinking of flashing system.img in fastboot , but I dont know if I have to flash the data and cache partition too.
How should I proceed?
Have you tried to install "activity launcher" from PlayStore, you should find the phone app in the list.
The problem is that for the Honor6, phone and contact is the same app. So if nothing happens when you try to add a contact, I'm affraid the app is gone, but it's a really really strange affair

HELP!!!!!!!

I added a new dialer and thought that i could deleted the default apk that came with the phone and now i have lost everything and do not know how to get it back. i can call out but cant take incoming calls i only can hang up from the true phone app that gives me the option to end call, but i can not dial a number if needed while in the call. Did you root the phone and delete the default Dialer app??
Anyway, try installing some other Dialer app and Contacts app from Play store.
See if the default Dialer or Phone app is disabled in Settings->Apps->Disabled.
If it's disabled, enable them
Reply
I have tried everything but I still can't answer. When I make the phone blinks as its going to call screen but nothing happens and it stays on the dialer screen. I have installed dw contact, phone, dialer and still no change. I think there something with the system but there is limited information on this phone model
