I am really trying to like this phone. I came from an htc evo and it took everything i threw at it. Drops, bricks, crappy coded software. It just came back for more. But you know what it did really well? Play music really loud at brain damage levels. You could max the eq and it just went to town. I loved that #$%& phone. Anyways enough of my drama, is there anyway to get this phone to handle high input from he eq or is it a hardware limitation?

If you are talking about hardware limitations, I don't have the answer, but if you haven't already tried software then you could try the Voodoo app in the market (I know the free version doesn't work for our phones yet, but I've read that the paid version will... don't know if that's true or not). It has a built in audio enhancer. There's also PlayerPro DSP, PowerAmp, and even BoomBoxoid Music Player all available in the market. One of those might be able to get you back to having cause some hearing loss.
I have pro player, power amp, and cube 3, plus a eq from the market installed. But now that you mention it voodoo when i ran gummy fe worked fine. Hmmm maybe this could be a gb issue. Thank you for the reply.

The paid version mostly works. Bass boost doesn't seem to do anything, but the volume hack works well. Requires root, but if you have GB, then I'm sure you have root.
Got the answer in the humble thread. Just had to clear my caches. Thanks for your time and input.
lol it was your answer that fixed it
Love MX Pro! Your H/W+ was the only thing that fixed my video stuttering issue on my HTC One with Android 4.4.2, thanks! My question is if there is a way to fix the Bluetooth audio lag while watching videos? It's about 1-2 seconds off. I think it's a Android bug, and did not have the problem on my HTC Sensation on ICS.
I would think this is an android bug as well. It's been mentioned on the old forum before:
https://groups.google.com/d/topic/mx-videoplayer/KlZenh0VFR4/discussion
https://groups.google.com/d/topic/mx-videoplayer/0_4M5NknAHs/discussion
The developer is aware of the issue, though I'm not sure if he has a fix yet.

Yes - it's an Android bug, but funnily enough, apps like YouTube don't have any (noticeable) lag. I posted about this a year ago, as well (here), as it was supposed to have been fixed by then - but as it still happens, it clearly hasn't been. I've had to stop using MX Player Pro because of this (I play video through my hearing aids via Bluetooth). Fingers crossed the developer will (eventually) fix this...
Richard.

It's seems to be audio latency issue. Either It may be from ROM or Headset.
Kindly try the latest nightly version. It has an option to audio offset. You can even set default audio offset for bluetooth devices.

CM12 official nighlies, just updated to latest one but this has been a problem since I went from stock 05Q to CM12. Google Play Music plays slightly faster than it should only on Bluetooth..... I have clean flashed twice, cleared cache for app and system and still it does it. Anyone know why?
Is anyone else experience this?
Bluetooth is usually always the problem between CM upgrades..... Not sure why but I've noticed it's the first thing to break no matter the phone.,

Yes I also have this issue with CM12 on my Galaxy S5 SM-G900M. I have it affecting both the Google Play Music app and the stock CM music app. I tried all the regular stuff also (clear cache, full wipe, yada yada).
Seems to be affecting multiple devices I guess.
Also affects me, thought it was so weird but it has always happened with my OnePlus one.

I had a note 2 a while back that had this issue. It was a kernel issue. Maybe try a dif kernel? I'm on CM11 05Q running franco kernel considering there's CM12 support?
I will flash back CM12 and test with a different kernel tonight. Retest Bluetooth audio on my way to work tomorrow and report what happens.
Tried two different kernels with no change. Still having bluetooth audio skip and play slightly faster / higher pitched.
Just an update. I am still having this issue... I clean flashed Slim 5.0 and the problem was still there
Just had a thought, can anyone try to recreate the issue with AwesoePlayer instead of Nuplayer

When I had this issue, again with the Note 2, it was in PowerAMP. Stock music didn't seem to have it.

Turning off Wi-fi during Bluetooth playback worked for some other devices experiencing the problem.
Edit: apparently this has been a reoccurring issue across multiple devices with android.
Same issue with Spotify
I updated to CM12S on my OPO yesterday. Noticed since that music plays fast and pauses every 15 seconds.
Any advice on resolving?
I'm having the same issue on CM12s. :/

Works fine in the car on Oxygen.
There is a bug filed on Jira. BACON-3275
It appears to be almost exclusive to Japanese cars.

Not exclusive to Japanese cars...I'm having the same issue in a VW and across all my bluetooth audio devices in the house. Great phone but Oneplus/Cyanogen is ****ting the bed lately.
A lot of people experience problem with bluetooth, the problem for me is there since 4.4.4. I can't receive phone calls in my car (BMW E39) . At best it connect 15 seconds then bluetooth restart on my phone. In CM bug tracker there is A LOT of complains. I don't mean to ***** but devs need to seriously look into this. Some bug report are from OCTOBER 14.
Patience everyone....
Hi.
Please forgive my grammar mistakes; English isn't my first language.
Why no reviewer talks about it? Why are reviews so superficial? I'm quite irritated. I've been using the Honor 8 since 1st Dec. 2016 and so far I've noticed that:
1. There's no system-level audio equalizer: this means that you have to live with the flat audio that comes out of the sound card, which is not pleasant if you really enjoy listening to music. Of course you can use a cool audio player such as Poweramp, but what about sounds coming from other apps? What about YouTube, for example?
2. You can't adjust the L-R audio balance: WTF? Again, you can use Poweramp, but what about any other sound?
3. The included earphones sound bad, like really bad. OK, if you are an audiophile you use something else, but... WTF?
4. MIDI audio output: I played a MIDI file using com.lonelycatgames.Xplore and after about a minute the phone rebooted. I used to enjoy using those piano-simulator-apps(?), such as com.rubycell.pianisthd, but the audio output is full of clicks and pops (can't explain it better, sorry). EDIT (02/03/2017): no more clicks and pops after upgrading from Android 6.0 (FRD-L09C432B120) to 7.0 (FRD-L09C432B360).
5. (a bit off topic): When using MX Player (to play video files, not audio) the HW/HW+ decoder fails to play some videos the right way (I mean, they're like slowed down).
edit (08/04/17):
6. Good luck using with satisfaction apps like "Samsung Health" or "Huawei Health". Their processes get terminated randomly when the phone is not in use (display is off). No, telling the phone to never close those processes doesn't work. AND NO, telling the apps to "ignore battery optimizations" doesn't work either. F--K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't buy it again. This phone is clearly not made for audio(/video)-obsessed people.
Guys, what are your thoughts about the A/V experience this smartphone offers?

2. You can actually adjust the L-R balance : Settings- advanced settings-accessibility-sound balance.
3. There were no earphones with my phone (L04).
My impressions are audio is not bad, I had HTC M8 before and it was definitely better, but the Honor does the job and i'm pretty satisfied.
When campared to my note 4 , the note 4 wins by a land slide.. I was disappointed when i first heard music on my honor 8.
Easiest fix: Just flash v4a
Unless you really don't want to unlock your device then i don't know but v4a gets the job more then done

I do agree that the lack of equalizer is very unpleasant. I miss my good old phones with Cyanogen and my equalizers.
I had Honor 7 and LG G3 before the 8 and I managed to install Viper4Android which is the best equalizer of all times but since I didn't unlock the Honor 8 yet...

I'm afraid it's never gonna be great for me. I'll never trust any review anymore.
My opinion:
For music the best is Alcatel 4, stereo speakers, jbl headphones, built in app equalizer, dj mode..
But its music phone.
Honor 8 is good for daily using whatever you want.
Great camera, display and even one speaker of sound is nice though should be louder. Honor have HiSilicon Hi6402 audio chipset. DTS sound effect in music player.
Ok, it have no equalizer (it piss me off because in play store you can find only trash), but we can install Viper if we rooted our phone.
If no root mode we can use poweramp as you said, maybe no works with youtube but who listen to music on youtube if audio there have not good quality.

Uhm... this is complicated. It's not a simple concept like "youtube music video suck". YouTube has any kind of video and I'd like to listen to the audio the best way possibile. And what about Spotify, as someone else already wrote?
No, f**k, it's not possible to pay 330€ to get such a low quality audio. I don't accept it. And we're still only talking about the lack of eq. What about the crappy HW video decoder? What about the bad midi output? I can't believe it.

I've also bricked my phone a few times and manage to unbrick it.

I agree. The sound, even with dts, is mediocre. I have never had a good pair of buds or headphones come by default. I always buy 3rd party.
The only major con is the ios skin. The video is npt grreat but not bad. So 1 major flaw and 2 small issues. GREAT PHONE.

So i should buy camera, mp3 player etc?
The same with people which buys phone for taking pictures, why not? Now smartphones haves very good audio chipsets and firmware addons which makes phone better than many other players. Problem with honor is that his firmware is not made for music lovers but as you said Viper can change it.

Had tried it; doesn't sound any good to me.
There was an option in camera app on my previous Samsung Galaxy S8+, and it appears it's an option with Huawei's Mate 20 series, that allows the camera to only record slow-mo video when motion is detected.
However, this 'only record when motion detected' slow-mo option is missing on my P30 Pro.
Can anyone with a P40-series phone let me know if Huawei put it back in?
EDIT: Never mind. Turns out the option appears when you select 960 fps. Here's what I captured:

Off the topic query but how are you finding the p40pro till now in terms of camera and the software experience? ..i have ordered one here in UK and will probably get it in a couple of days
Sent from my SM-F907B using Tapatalk
First off it it's a beautiful device and feels great in the hand. It's one of those devices that you find satisfying to touch.
The camera is excellent exactly how I expected it to be after owning a mate 20 Pro a last year, and that device ruined my experience of owning a note 10 plus as the camera on the note just couldn't compare.
Software is good although EMUI is one of my favourite android skins anyway. I find it pretty easy to live without gms as I don't really do social media or anything.
It is easy to put gms on this device although I took it off just to run a stock phone as stock. Due to the fact the only things I wanted from gms (Google pay and music) won't work anyway.
Main gripe with this phone is no gpay or banking apps. Hopefully Huawei can sort this soon. Oh and no stereo speaker or dolby atmos.
Now I need to decide whether to switch from my note 10 plus to this or not?

Yeah the note Is a good phone but Samsung ruined the note with a software update that made the camera blurry and the Bluetooth streaming skip on music play back. And seems as though I take 100+ inspection photos daily for work it's very annoying.
I just can't get on with Samsung ui either it's too much.
The thought of not being fully tracked by Google is quite refreshing as well.
It is weird how nice this phone feels... I find even if I'm not using it I just rotate it in the hand whilst watching TV odd.
