CM12 official nighlies, just updated to latest one but this has been a problem since I went from stock 05Q to CM12. Google Play Music plays slightly faster than it should only on Bluetooth..... I have clean flashed twice, cleared cache for app and system and still it does it. Anyone know why?
Is anyone else experience this?
Bluetooth is usually always the problem between CM upgrades..... Not sure why but I've noticed it's the first thing to break no matter the phone.,

Yes I also have this issue with CM12 on my Galaxy S5 SM-G900M. I have it affecting both the Google Play Music app and the stock CM music app. I tried all the regular stuff also (clear cache, full wipe, yada yada).
Seems to be affecting multiple devices I guess.
Also affects me, thought it was so weird but it has always happened with my OnePlus one.

I had a note 2 a while back that had this issue. It was a kernel issue. Maybe try a dif kernel? I'm on CM11 05Q running franco kernel considering there's CM12 support?
I will flash back CM12 and test with a different kernel tonight. Retest Bluetooth audio on my way to work tomorrow and report what happens.
Tried two different kernels with no change. Still having bluetooth audio skip and play slightly faster / higher pitched.
Just an update. I am still having this issue... I clean flashed Slim 5.0 and the problem was still there
Just had a thought, can anyone try to recreate the issue with AwesoePlayer instead of Nuplayer

When I had this issue, again with the Note 2, it was in PowerAMP. Stock music didn't seem to have it.

Turning off Wi-fi during Bluetooth playback worked for some other devices experiencing the problem.
Edit: apparently this has been a reoccurring issue across multiple devices with android.
Same issue with Spotify
I updated to CM12S on my OPO yesterday. Noticed since that music plays fast and pauses every 15 seconds.
Any advice on resolving?
I'm having the same issue on CM12s. :/
Hope there's a fix for this soon, it's a huge issue for me. Music sounds like **** when trying to listen to it in the car.

It is worth noting that this does not exist on other Bluetooth devices right now and just in my Mazda 3 2013. What car do you have?

I have a 2012 Mazda 3, I see this issue with CM12 and 12.1
Works fine on my bluetooth speaker in the house.
Works fine in the car on Oxygen.
There is a bug filed on Jira. BACON-3275
It appears to be almost exclusive to Japanese cars.

Not exclusive to Japanese cars...I'm having the same issue in a VW and across all my bluetooth audio devices in the house. Great phone but Oneplus/Cyanogen is ****ting the bed lately.
A lot of people experience problem with bluetooth, the problem for me is there since 4.4.4. I can't receive phone calls in my car (BMW E39) . At best it connect 15 seconds then bluetooth restart on my phone. In CM bug tracker there is A LOT of complains. I don't mean to ***** but devs need to seriously look into this. Some bug report are from OCTOBER 14.
Patience everyone....

I'm running stock Android 4.1.2 on an international version GT-P6800 (purchased in Thailand).
I've been subscribed to a magazine for months now. But with today's replacement (Play Magazines => Play Newsstand), the Google Play Newsstand app crashes immediately on launch. Same story for the updated version of Google Now (released over the past week).
Due to increased sluggishness of my tablet, I decided to backup data and do a factory reset. So all these problems are occurring on a "fresh" OS install. (So no significant app caches, etc.)
Newsstand and Google Now/Search are both working fine on my ASUS tablet, so these problems are definitely specific to this hardware/OS version.
Is anyone else having either or both problems? Ideas?
P.S. This is really making me more inclined to finally root my tablet and install the most stable custom ROM available.
Just tried Newsstand an I too am having issues, also been having issues with Google Now . I started a thread regarding that issue as well. Really getting frustrated

The problem is almost certainly caused by Samsung modifications to Jelly Bean. My other Android devices don't have any such problems.
I posted a message about my solution in another thread:

Finally found easy fix!
Uninstall the update & revert back to factory app. Stupid updates just screw everything up! It was ridiculous!

I know I'm not the only one with this issue, anybody have an any ideas as to why Google search no longer works, even after new updates. On My wife's Note II she gets all the updates with no issue, she is also running 4.1.2. This is really pissing me off.

The problem is almost certainly Samsung 's work in modifying Android for our tablet model. There are no widespread complaints for other Android devices. And as I said when you started this thread: once I rooted the tablet and flashed Cyanogenmod, the problem became a far-off memory. That's the beauty of the Android community. My tablet can do more things now. And I don't have to think about whether Samsung cares about me.
What did I learn? That if I wanted a 7"tablet today, I would get the Nexus 7. I got a Nexus 4 phone when Google dropped the price. I rooted it in 15 minutes. And Kit Kat is available for it already.

How can you recommend using Cyonogen when all of these issues are present?
1. Inherent from CM10.1
- Wifi-tethering, hdmi, Incall screen landscape, etc.
2. Bluetooh not working
- Need to see if the mojo in cm10.1 works here. (Lots of works...)
3. Camera not working yet
- Both camera can preview, Autio focus is OK for back camera. Can't save the photo...
(Seems bugs in framework_av cause it)
4. The default orientation of lockscreen is lanscape.
- not respond to rotation lock. Workaround: set only one angle in settings and enable rotation.
5. Screen rotation or rapid refresh cause transient noices. (Seems the new opengl issue, will try the new r3p2 mali driver later)
Unless you have a different version where everything works as it should.
Don't get mad, just pointing out the flaws of your suggestion.
Also my wife's Note II does not have this issue so I don't think it is a Samsung issue, then again I might be wrong.
Sent from my GT-P6800 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
First off, I want you to know I am not angry; I am just realistic. Samsung released the GT-P6800 as part of their typical tactic: they offered tablets in every possible size:
7", 7.7 with AMOLED, 8.9, 10.1.
Then they waited to see what the market wanted. Our model's AMOLED display was an expensive (but excellent) component. When the smoke cleared, Samsung followed the market's signal. They never released a follow-up and decided on the Note series as a better product family. We are never going to get Samsung's attention. Between your experience, your wife's and mine, we know that the crashing apps only happen on the 7.7. So there is a combination of Samsung OS and hardware that causes the problem. For the reasons I just cited, Samsung IS NOT GOING TO OFFER FIXES OR PATCHES.
You've done a great job listing possible reasons why someone would not do what I did. (To root and flash a new ROM.)
So let me respond directly to your points.

It's because of my priorities: I care deeply about reading on my tablet. That includes my subscription to The New Yorker magazine (via Newsstand) and PressReader for a variety of global newspapers. If I can't read what I want, I have to find a solution. You complained about Newsstand, so I told you how to get Newsstand working.
Another fringe benefit: I can get rid of the crap Samsung put in the firmware: Social Hub, Readers Hub, widgets, old PressReader, old Pulse, etc.

I can confirm this does not work. If Samsung would release their WiFi drivers to the development community this problem could be fixed. (If Samsung is too busy with more profitable products, they should let the customers fix the problem, no?)

HDMI
A direct physical HDMI connection is a pretty clumsy way of communicating with a TV. I'd rather use XBMC, DLNA, or one of the streaming boxes and "cast" the content to the TV across my network. Who needs to run a cable across the living room or bedroom between TV and tablet?

Unfortunately if Samsung won't release all the drivers to the development community, it's unlikely that there will ever be a fully functional alternative ROM for the GT-P6800.

I think you listed the issues of CM 11 , and he's using CM 10.X
By the way I got same problem after updating those two apps. So I just uninstalled updates.
I'm still giving the stock ROM some time , as I own this tablet from only 2 months..but I think I'm gonna move to Cyanogenmod in time, its not only Samsung thing, all stock Roms from all brands I've tested get laggy after few months..:| , even with pure android on nexues 7 , this thing I've never seen with Apple tho they still power their flagship devices with Dual Core, and 1 GB Ram.!

Don't fill up the whole of your internal sdcard and fstrim (JB only) your partitions once a week or on boot. Also, improve android LMK & min frees with V6SuperCharger, or CrossBreeder etc. This may help, but involves some reading on your part.
Apple don't fill their device with as many useful features (or bloatware), which would require greater hardware capacity. There's no comparison.

Love MX Pro! Your H/W+ was the only thing that fixed my video stuttering issue on my HTC One with Android 4.4.2, thanks! My question is if there is a way to fix the Bluetooth audio lag while watching videos? It's about 1-2 seconds off. I think it's a Android bug, and did not have the problem on my HTC Sensation on ICS.
I would think this is an android bug as well. It's been mentioned on the old forum before:

Yes - it's an Android bug, but funnily enough, apps like YouTube don't have any (noticeable) lag. I posted about this a year ago, as well (here), as it was supposed to have been fixed by then - but as it still happens, it clearly hasn't been. I've had to stop using MX Player Pro because of this (I play video through my hearing aids via Bluetooth). Fingers crossed the developer will (eventually) fix this...

It's seems to be audio latency issue. Either It may be from ROM or Headset.
Kindly try the latest nightly version. It has an option to audio offset. You can even set default audio offset for bluetooth devices.

I'm on my third Nexus 5 that has had issues, and every single one of them have had this one. App is up to date, and my internet speed is at least 10mbps. I have 30 at home and have the same issues. It does this at home, here at work, and on 4G. But it couldn't be the internet connection as it works fine on my old phone and other devices.
Here's some more info.
Stock, unrooted, stock kernel, 4.2.2. I've been tempted to root and unlock the boot loader to install a new kernel and see if that helps, but I'm not used to rooting Nexus devices and don't want to make it difficult to upgrade to 4.4.3 when its released. Hopefully that will fix this issue, but Google has been radio silent on it so I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket.

Exactly. It's why I've ruled it out being a hardware issue, because this has happened to two other Nexus 5's I've been in possession of. It's so weird.
I've unlocked the bootloader, rooted it, all the fun stuff. I'm gonna try a new kernel to see if that will fix it.

Hiya,
Im having this issue as well. Some of the videos have disortion and stutters, but its not in youtube app. When I play videos form the websites it happens but, not in all of them. Dont know why some are ok and others dont. Sometimes its really annoying, especially when it stutters a lot in the playedback video. I do not know if its a hardware or a software issue.
EDIT:
Just checked the same video in Android Authority app and in Youtube app. In the first app audio stutters and being a wee bit choppy, in Yt however, everything is fine. Audio is clear, no stutters at all. So I assume its software issue and maybe audio codecs dont play well with third party apps. Also, I dont think there is a solution to this problem.

Obviously since official CM 12 came out the glitchy audio problems have been sorted out on all the ROMs, though no matter what lollipop ROM I install it's just too damn quiet. Feels like it maxes out at about 70% the volume of CM11S and as I listen to spoken word not music it's become unusable.
Is this some weird confluence of events that only affects me? (I can't find any other complaints) Anyone know any workarounds? I installed Viper4Android and it worked but there was no way of getting it any louder (if anything it was a bit quieter no matter what I tried)
The buggy Beta CM12s were fantastically loud, but alas the Max Headroom style digital glitches made them unusable.
I would love to be able to hear my audiobooks and podcasts again. Can anyone please advise?
**Edit to mention that the EU safe levels have already been overruled**

Thanks but doing that killed my OPO. I now get "couldn't play back the track you required" on Play Music and "episode appears to be in a format we can't play" with Pocket Casts.
I should also have pointed out that speaker volume is of no interest to me, just bluetooth and headset. Thanks for taking the time to answer me though.

You bumped one minute after the thread was created??
Hello! I never had a problem with my Google Pixel until now.
I downloaded and installed the official Android 8.0 update for my Pixel. As soon as it booted, I did what I normally do and I opened up my audiobooks player to play my 4 hour long MP3 that I listen to. I noticed immediately that the audio was stuttering and crackling, like the way a very old PC would do when you had too many things running while you tried to listen to music.
It is not a bluetooth issue because it happens with wired headphones and even with the internal speaker. It does it whether or not my phone is rooted (does not make a difference). I do not have a lot of apps installed. Again, this did not happen at all on Android N.
The issue is not just with my audio book player app. While it does not happen in Youtube, it also happens if I try to play a video in a web browser. The same horrible audio lagging/stuttering.
I did not see anyone complain about this, so I am at a loss for what it could possibly be. Anyone with any pointers I would greatly appreciate them! It is driving me crazy!
It happens to me too, I have to clear all apps from the background and reboot. Then the audio go back to normal.

It goes back to normal for me after a reboot but it comes right back after not too much time. Why did Google officially release Oreo with this kind of issue?

I had it on nougat also, but it happens a lot more frequently on Oreo.
Has anyone found a fix?
It is some sort of weird RAM issue. I downloaded a RAM cleaner, and even though I have lots of free RAM, cleaning the RAM fixes it (until it eventually comes back). What is going on?

I heard it's hardware. No one else is having these issues. Do an RMA and be done with it.

Where did you hear this? And if it's a hardware issue why isn't it there in Android Nougat?
How did you "hear it's a hardware issue" but never heard of anyone else having this problem? Don't those statements contradict each other?

I just got the issue after updating, never had it before. It doesn't happen often and a reboot fixes it every time. Which leads me to believe it's software.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'm beginning to think that perhaps an app that's installed is conflicting with either ram usage or the audio drivers. Unfortunately, in order to find out what it is, a clean system would be needed at this point. No apps installed, test out the audio. If it works then you're in for a long day adding each app one at a time. If it still doesn't work I'd try another set of headphones, although that seems ludicrous. Lastly, since you're rooted you can go back to N if it's that important to you and report the heck out of it to Google. Good luck guys.
Not that it matters to you that much, but I listen to the headphones every day, Spotify, Pandora, Sports Gold and not a single issue on any of them. Bluetooth is another story, but wired static is rare. Search Google issues see if you come up with anything.

I have no issues with streaming services which is probably why you don't have the issue. It only happens to me in audio playing from a web browser or local audio files.

I don't have an issue with any streaming apps, only with local audio files or audio from web browsers.
edit: sorry for the double post
