[HELP!] how to do a factory reset through twrp? - Sony Xperia XZ Questions & Answers

Hey, I'm running Custom ROM on my XZ (RomAur V4.3) with custom kernel and root with unlocked bootloader.
I want to perform a factory reset without coming back to the stock ROM and stay with my root on RomAur, I searched on Google that question and there are 0 good answers for this.
Some says that I need to swipe the button in the wipe category and that's it.
But some says that I should tick some boxes in the Advance wipe options..
I just want to remove the apps, photos, etc..
*I also want to stay on RomAur with root and everything that I mentioned before*
What should I do to just remove the apps, photos, etc..?
Thanks a lot and sorry for my bad English.

advanced wipe in twrp, tick •Dalvil/Art cache •Data and •Cache and done, and then reboot

Just to be 100% sure, tick
- data
- cache
- dalvik (dalvik cache)
And swipe to perform it?
It will keep my rom and root?

Btw, can I also do this factory reset through the built in settings menu? (Without using the recovery)

Exactly, the rom will be clean and the root must be there too because the files of the root are ubicated in system partition, so, should be work

Can i factory reset my Samsung A8 (2018) phone witch is rooted and using Magisk v22
I've flashed TWRP "twrp-3.5.0_9-0-jackpotlte.img.tar" using Odin3_v3.13.3
also installed RMM_Bypass_v3_corsicanu.zip and no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip
Will my phone remain rooted after a factory reset ?
Should i reïnstall RMM_Bypass_v3_corsicanu.zip and no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip ?
(Prevent Prenormal KG/RMM State / disable dm-verity to prevent Boot Loop)
UPDATE 19/3:
I've wiped DATA / DALVIC and CACHE using TWRP
Rebooted into recovery, and since DATA was'nt empty i used the Format DATA option
Then i reinstalled RMM_Bypass_v3_corsicanu.zip, no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip and Magisk
(possible it is not needed, but wanted to be safe and prevent a Boot-loop or an RMM lock)
After a system reboot everything works fine

sorry xda developers is not giving me permission to provide you the links but now the phone has started but it keeps on coming that "unfortunately, the processandroid.process.acore has stopped" and contacts has stopped and it goes on appearing.

Can't flash anything. :(

I bought the phone yesterday and successfully rooted, unlocked bootloader, installed custom recovery. But now i can't flash any custom rom.
I tried the slimsaber rom through TWRP, flashed with proper methods as instructed by the OP erased system, flashed firmware, flashed rom,
it flashed property but on flashing gapps it says "this device doesn't have a build.prop or something. And if i continue without flashing gapps it just freezes at the oneplus logo, powered by android below it .
I also tried flashing the 6.0.zip from CyanogenMod official site but in TWRP it just freezes at patching system unconditionally. I also tried the CyanogenMod recovery to flash it but it said signature verification failed.

Did you erases system after flashing firmware ?
Steps are .. Flash firmware -> Flash ROM > Flash Gapps -> Wipe Cache/Dalvik
All above steps without rebooting ...

No you should not wipe the system after flashing firmware.
Erasing system, data is the first step.
Follow below procedure.
1. Wipe system
2. Flash Firmware
3. Flash ROM
4. Flash Gapps
5. Erase Cache
6. Reboot

This is exactly what i did but on step 4... FLASHING GAPPS, it says your rom doesn't have a build.prop or default.prop .
And if i just continue without flashing gapps it just gets stuck at oneplus logo.

Are you getting any errors in twrp after you flash any particular file ?

On flashing cm from the official site it gets stuck at patching system unconditionally ...
I also tried using other recoveries but nothing helped .
And i also tried the adb sideload ...it also gets stuck at 41% .
Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Update: it was a corrupt zip (official cm)
And there seems to be something wrong with slimsaber too ...
I downloaded the official cm 13 zip and it worked flawlessly... Also flashed sultan rom too ?

If you don't do a factory data reset in the settings of your phone but use the factory reset option in twrp recovery instead then you will not lose your pictures or anything else in your internal SD card.
Odin flash the stock firmware after doing a full wipe of system, data, cache, dalvik and factory reset all in twrp recovery before Odin flashing.
Good luck and have a nice day.

It's easy to root.
Get the twrp Odin flashable TAR file , the noble version and Odin flash it after copying Jovys rooting kernel into your internal sdcard.
You can find jov23's stock-modified rooting kernel in the n920t original developers thread here in this forum.
After Odin flashing twrp your phone will boot into twrp recovery where you need to install Jovys zip file kernel.
Good luck.
