Can't flash anything. :( - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought the phone yesterday and successfully rooted, unlocked bootloader, installed custom recovery. But now i can't flash any custom rom.
I tried the slimsaber rom through TWRP, flashed with proper methods as instructed by the OP erased system, flashed firmware, flashed rom,
it flashed property but on flashing gapps it says "this device doesn't have a build.prop or something. And if i continue without flashing gapps it just freezes at the oneplus logo, powered by android below it .
I also tried flashing the 6.0.zip from CyanogenMod official site but in TWRP it just freezes at patching system unconditionally. I also tried the CyanogenMod recovery to flash it but it said signature verification failed.

Did you erases system after flashing firmware ?
Steps are .. Flash firmware -> Flash ROM > Flash Gapps -> Wipe Cache/Dalvik
All above steps without rebooting ...

No you should not wipe the system after flashing firmware.
Erasing system, data is the first step.
Follow below procedure.
1. Wipe system
2. Flash Firmware
3. Flash ROM
4. Flash Gapps
5. Erase Cache
6. Reboot

This is exactly what i did but on step 4... FLASHING GAPPS, it says your rom doesn't have a build.prop or default.prop .
And if i just continue without flashing gapps it just gets stuck at oneplus logo.

Are you getting any errors in twrp after you flash any particular file ?

On flashing cm from the official site it gets stuck at patching system unconditionally ...
I also tried using other recoveries but nothing helped .
And i also tried the adb sideload ...it also gets stuck at 41% .

Update: it was a corrupt zip (official cm)
And there seems to be something wrong with slimsaber too ...
I downloaded the official cm 13 zip and it worked flawlessly... Also flashed sultan rom too ?

Did you check MD5 before flashing? Could be a bad download.
Usually boot loop issues are due to left overs from your previous rom so,
If you're on CWM recovery , use this ORDER :
1.Reset user data/factory reset
2.Format System
3.Format Data
4.Format Cache
5.Format SD card (back up your important files first)..
Then flash the rom ... Don't wipe dalvik it's already in /data
This applies not just to CM10 , use this procedure to any rom flash or any nandroid restore ...

Any chance for an Odexed base?
I tried again to install and just sat on the boot screen and tried again after booting back into recovery and clearing dalvik cache same result, has anyone else successfully booted? If so tell me how you proceeded on install, I formatted data and cache then wiped boot and did clean install, it did install but just stayed on boot animation, let it run for at least 10 minutes but never booted into Rom,

Can't install apps through the Market on factory reset rooted device

My Nexus S have been messed up for a while now cos Google apps would never work on it, so I decided to factory reset and wipe my Nexus S clean, then root it to install a new rom. I factory reset, wipe, and rooted it but when I went to install rom manager to install a new rom, I can't install anything from the market. I've download the rom manager apk and placed it in a file but I can't access it since there is no app to browse files on the device.
Also I can't get service on the phone for some reason and airplane mode keeps turning on itself.
Android version: 2.3.1
Build number: GRH78

2.3.1! *shudders*
Use Nexus Root Toolkit. It will take care of all your needs.
Flash a custom recovery from fastboot and then install a ROM of your choice.

Follow the steps above to get a working recovery running. Then Flash a Custom Rom by "install zip from SD Card".
Important: Flash the correct GAPPS right after flashing the Rom. If there`re still Problems, try to fix permissions in recoverys Options
Thanks everyone I managed to install a new rom (Illusion) and everything is working fine.

you make a backup in recovery, then dirty flash, dont wipe a single thing, 444 over it. if alls well after, then perfect. if you have issues, you have that backup in recovery to restore

Unfortunately my clairvoyant skills aren't working today
perhaps you could elaborate on the following 2 things
1) what zip are you flashing?
2) what error are you getting?

Don't use OTA updates. Just manually flash a rooted stock ROM via TWRP.
Click the link in my signature and go to the "resources" section. You'll find a full rooted, PURE STOCK 4.4.4 rom there.
Copy it to your /sdcard, take a FULL nandroid backup then flash the ROM.

if the dirty flash is successful, you wont lose a thing, except time. if you have to go back and wipe, you will lose your data. so, make a backup in recovery first, before the dirty flash.

Can't install OTA update...

So I had my phone rooted, with TWRP recovery, and today I've received a notification for 5.1 update, and when I pressed Install and reboot, it rebooted directly into TWRP, so I can't update it (or didn't find a way). Is there any way to update it now without wiping data?
There's a whole thread on the ota process in the general forum. You should read it. The ota will not work with a custom recovery. You need the stock recovery which you can install using fastboot. There are other requirements too. You have to be 100% stock system, kernel and recovery.

Just flash the ota zip via twrp you will loose all root and your system modifiactions which are reversible!
