Hello,
So jack on my z3 has been behaving very weirdly for last couple of months. Whenever the headphones moves a tiny bit it stop playing music like it was unplugged. I tried cleaning the jack a few times with no luck. Also I have been using MDR V6 with it for quite long. I was wondering if it got damaged somehow since the jack and cord on MDR V6 is quite heavy. I just wanted to know if someone else had such issues or know how to sort this issue.

Hi guys,
Just a few days back I realized when I plugged in my headphones, I kept on hearing loud static noise through it. I thought my headphone might have a problem, so I tried my earphone and same. Both work just fine when plugged into my laptop.
Without headphones, my tablet plays sounds OK, but since this incident there is evident tearing occurring.
Can anyone figure out or guess what the problem (and remedy) may be?
Thanks very much!
I have a 2yr old samsung galaxy s3 workin on stock jb rom and boeffla kernel, recently whenever I plug my headphone the sound is very distorted, cannot hear the vocals and music is kinda flat with weird noises or sometimes very low sound from only one side . Tried different headsets but its the same. Googled n noted similar problems for many and the solution is to replace the headphone jack or motherboard or may be hit the back of phone lol...also tried tightening the screw near the jack but it dint work... I've been playin ppsspp games on it and kinda overclockin it to 1.6ghz. Sometimes during streaming while charging, it shows battery too hot please remove charger. So assumed that due to overheat the headphone jack might have expanded(lol) and the headphone knobs are not making good contact or are damaged.
Based on this hypothesis inserted an aluminium foil folded half way into the jack and then inserted the headphone and now its workin fine . It took many tries to get the aluminium foil in the right place but it did work....posting this in hope that it helps someone.
Hi guys,
I recently started having problems with my jack port. It does get recognized by the headphones and i am able to play music normally. The problem is a that when i plug in my headphone, if i move them, one of the channels gets cutoff.
Has anyone encountered this issue?
Thanks,
Matei
Try a different set of headphones, could be split/broken wires in the cord.
Nope, the headphones are ok.
Hey fookea, yes I've had this issue. However, mine is so bad that I cannot plug anything into it without major static and crackling noises coming through, if I get sound at all.
From what I've gathered, our headphone jack needs to be protected because it gets dirty very easily. Moreover, this problem is not uncommon for the Z3 and if you send it off, or take it to a Sony repair shop, they'll fix it at no charge.
You can also try taking a Q-tip and pulling some of the cotton from the end. Dampen the end with a small amount of rubbing alcohol and try cleaning the jack out. If this doesn't work, you'll have to have it repaired.
I'd advise getting a case that protects the headphone jack, like the Ringke Fusion (it's what I have). I regret purposely breaking the headphone jack protector off the case after getting it because I don't think I'd have the issue I do now.
Good luck!
Thanks man! Will try this at home
Hello,
A few days ago my earphones were working fine in my lenovo P2 but then one day it started to produce muffled sound.
I pulled the headphone jack up a little bit and after some twists only the right side was producing normal music. The headphones are working fine in computer and tried some other headphones also but the problem persists. I even tried the headphones that came with the phone but they are also having the same issue. The strange thing is that my other headphone Sennheiser HD 203 (I think it is one ring jack while the other headphones are 4 ringed) is working fine in it. What could be the issue.
Thanks
I also had the muffuling issue.
I had the issue from the stock ROM only, then went to Oreo but it was still their thou my fix was simple.
I flashed the lineage os 7.1.2 provided by @Wonder Wicked Witch and the problem is gone....do try this BTW everything is working on the ROM.
So do try it.I am currently using it.
I suggest a Hardware caused problem.
Check for collections of dust, hair and other debris that got stuck in the headphone jack. Use pliers to get it out.
Because "normal" headphones work fine and ones that go deeper in (with mic or controls ) don't, I really suggest you check that, because all the dust gets stuffed in to the end of the port, so jacks that aren't as long won't have any issue.

Hi. I have a audio problem in my Lenovo p2. The audio is very bad when using a normal earphones, but when I use an Universal earphones like Ubon etc etc., it has the setting in it which makes the audio good. The big problem is that I cannot use any other normal earphones instead I have to use universal earphones like UBON universal earphones. Please help me out with this. I have tried factory reset also many times, the issues is still the same.
Hi,
the left channel on the headphone jack is not working.
First I thought it's just dust or litter so I cleaned the jack.
Since that didn't help I bought a replacement headphone jack, opened up the phone and changed it.
But the problem is still there.
(Now I'm hearing a very very low signal on the left channel. (It's only noticeable when I take out the right earplug in a silent room.))
Of course I also tried different headphones. Same result.
Audio over USB-C or bluetooth works fine.
What else could be the problem?
I'd say it's damaged board
