Somthing) ruu zip ..When flashing It shows " os version in android info missing or i" in fastboot .Nothing helping.. All ways are dead ends. If any one has better ideas ...That should be greatly appreciated.. NEED HELP PLEASE... S offing is difficult for me. Please suggest other methods please.

Actually there is only a ruu.exe for the US unlocked version af the a9 so that fits not wth your device.
But you need to get S-OFF first, then change cid and mid and convert to US unlocked and than your good to go.
Link to the thread for converting is here. https://forum.xda-developers.com/one-a9/development/s-off-convert-to-htc-usa-unlocked-1-12-t3271861
Take the latest mm 6.01 rom-zip to convert and then take the ota or use the ruu.exe

Technically yes, you could flash the system.img, but you would also need Nougat's boot.img. Nougat's boot image will not boot on any older firmware.
To upgrade to the firmware from a different MID/CID, you NEED s-off.
Bottom line...you need s-off to upgrade to the Nougat release from the US Unlocked variant. There is no other method.

Sure...the RUU is here. It will cost you $30 to get access to it.
If you want a system image, you can extract it from any RUU you wish. You'll need the RUU Extraction Tool, which is available in another thread here on XDA. The OTA is designed to only patch certain portions of an existing system partition. OTA zips do not contain a system image.
You can flash the Nougat images through recovery if you want, but THEY WILL NOT WORK. You will soft brick your phone! It will not work! The firmware (radio, bootloaders, etc.) are different! 1.xx firmware is not compatible with 2.xx boot images!
If you want HTC's Nougat on your phone, you have three options:
1. S-off your phone and follow the convert to US unlocked guide.
2. Wait until if/when Nougat OTA is available for your A9 variant.
3. Buy a phone that is already officially supported.
Please take the advice provided to you by @MGfusion, @alray, @scotty2000, me, and possibly others in multiple threads on this forum.
If you are unable to s-off, you will not be able to use the software contained in the Nougat RUU for US unlocked at this time. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.
If you are unable to follow instructions, nobody on this site will be able to help you.
I would advise you to stop modifying your phone until you've done more READING on this forum. Without the proper RUU, s-off, or unmodified image files, you will not be able to return to stock.

No. If you want to remove bloatware or install a modified stock rom you need to have a custom recovery and being S-OFF or an unlocked bootloader.
What you can do if you do not want any of that, you can create a goldcard and flash an Unbranded RUU that will not have any carrier specific apps and you will still have S-ON and no root or custom recovery.
making a goldcard is necessary? i mean, if i will download ruu and run it, follow that it shows... will be possible to change my stock rom?

No, that is because the CID signature will fail (which is in your case CWS__001 that is AT&T specific). Goldcard is made in your sdcard and does not leave any kind of trace if that worries you.
so in my case i must make a goldcard right? and can u please tell me which RUU is best for my phone i mean free of cellular company things. and one more thing right now my
android version is 2.3.3
HTC sense version is 2.1
baseband verson is 12.56.60.25u_26.10.01.03_m
build number is 2.47.502.7
software number is 2.47.502.7
for all this information is necessary to match the other stock rom or not? if yes then please let me know the brandfree stock rom file location
hope i dont ask u alot do i?

Using any WWE rom will be just fine. But if you want the 2.3.3 unbranded RUU use this:
http://www.share-online.biz/dl/NDDJ1UJMHF
Create the goldcard, rename the file PD98IMG.zip and place it in the root of the sdcard then flash in hboot.
one more thing i would like to tell u, my phone is unlock for all SIM NETWORK..... will this impact on unbranded stock rom?
if i will use any WWE stock rom then i dont have to create a goldcard? and download this file that u have mention on ur reply?
i have found this link http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/?dir=Ace where all RUU in exe how can i convert it in ZIP?
i want unbranded 2.3.5 stock rom if u have a link please share with me

Those are the links that I have. WWE are the unbranded ones and build versions should be 3.xxx. You will always need to use a goldcard, it doesn't matter that those are unbranded RUU's you device is not.
To extract the .zip file from those RUU's follow this:

thanks
making a zip is quite complicated
can i upgrade it by using *Alternate-Flashing of RUU* by this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396229

Several questions to understand hboot update on HOX evita

So I'm a first time flasher and i've done my thorough reading and research.
I have an at&t HTC one X, but i'm using it in India.
I was flashing it to CM11 Snapshot, for which i have unlocked bootloader from HTCdev, i already had S-Off and CID-11111111 (no idea why... and can someone explain what is supercid btw ?)
Also installed twrp and its inbuilt supersu. I verified full root access with root checker.
Right when i was ready to finally flash the CM11, i get an error message saying that i have hboot 1.14 and that i need a higher one (1.19 i think... dont remember)
Ive checked for the solution, it seems that i need to install the 3.18 RUU to update hboot to 2.14. However, its not available on the following link, So i guess i shud get the next available RUU, which is 5.18.
I also read that i cant root 5.18, unless im already rooted. So i dont have to worry about this right ? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952038&page=58)
2 questions here,
Will it matter if i get 5.18 instead of 3.18 ? Plus, the 5.18 ruu is an exe file, not zip... is the flashing procedure different ?
I dont want to update the entire RUU, i just want to update my hboot. Is it possible ? If yes, how ?
I read that rooting is different for 3.18 than my current 2.20 firmware. I dont understand that either :/
( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237 )
And i need to toggle my bootlock ?
Thats probably a lot of questions. But im really trying to understand this right. Basically what i wanna know is, what exactly do i do next to simply update my hboot safely, and then cm11.

In response to your first question, SuperCID is a generic CID that unlocks your device from being identified and restricted to a certain carrier or region.
You don't need to worry about rooting methods for any specific version, you already have an unlocked bootloader and s-off, and your phone will stay like that unless you deliberately change it.
You don't want to update just the hboot. The ROMs look for a certain hboot version to be present during installation, but this is actually to verify that you have the right firmware installed, so you need to update your firmware, not just the hboot.
Luckily you don't need to mess around with any RUU at all. There's a much better and easier solution to your problem and that's simply to flash the 2.15 firmware package. There's a download and full instructions in my guide thread, you'll find the link in my signature.

You've mentioned installing firmware 2.15 package. Isnt that a downgrade ?
Also, can you explain the relation between hboot-firmware-built-RUU ?

No it isn't a downgrade, the 2.15 refers to the hboot that's contained in the firmware package. Here's a brief explanation:
RUU: contains the ROM, recovery, firmware. An automated process which installs all of these items.
Firmware: contains the hboot, modules for Wi-Fi, media, etc.
ROM: the operating system (this is what is referred to by the build number).
Trust me, I'm very experienced with this device, all you need to do is what I outlined in my initial reply.

Successfully running CM11.
A couple of more things id like your thoughts on:
1. Can you tell me how i can get rid of the splash screen message ?
Or is it possible to use my own splash screen ?
2. When i go to settings to customise slider lock shortcuts, it is pre set to unlock on right and various other shortcuts on the other 4 slots. I wanted to have unlock on top and the other shortcuts on either side. However, im unable to edit the right side shortcut.

Do you mean the red text? You can flash a modified hboot but they can cause problems, my advice is just deal with the text. You can only have the unlock target on the right, you can't modify that.

Trying to install 6.0.1 dev edition

Hi there been a while since I've flashed stuff on htc devices and i'm trying to get dev edition 1.55.617.4 rooted odex rom on my device, i'm s-off and super cid rom installs but won't boot, i'm presuming its boot. Img or firmware related? Just after info if I extract boot. Img and firmware from the rom and flash separately will this solve the issue and will it remove twrp?
Currently on dev edition 1.12.617.6 CL639737
Thanks for any advice

Change the SUPER CID to BS_0001, install the original RUU from: http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_HIA_AERO_UL_M60_SENSE7GP_ATT_MR_NA_Gen_Unlock_1.56.617.1.exe, then proceed to install the TWRP and Root with Windroid.
Hi there it won't let me change the CID to what you've stated above it says invalid, also the link i think is for the ATT version, i'm in europe so believe i need the GSM version ?
I can change the CID to HTC__001 for example but not what you've quoted...
Really struggling to get my phone updated to 6.0.1 i've only had it a few days tried numerous methods but not getting anywhere fast I thought if i was S-off and Super CID you could pretty much flash anything as long as it was for your correct phone model ?
Hence me presuming my issue was more boot.img and recovery.img related ?
I downloaded the official Dev edition RUU from the HTC Dev download section but that won't install either...
Getting confused i'm sure i'm probably missing a pretty easy step somewhere...

So i'm not sure if the Mid or Cid was the issue but either way when i changed the info.txt file to suit it worked...

Htc a9 at&t

I wanted the newest android Nougat on the phone so i paid for the sunshine s-off and changed the cid and mid. Loaded twrp recovery couldn't get anything to work with that either so i figured it was cause i didn't erase everything the right way and used twrp advanced wipe and now it looks like im really screwed! any help would be appreciated!! Also i tried the RUU from HTC nothing works !!! i want to cuss so bad AAHHHHHH
You're going to have to be more specific about what you did if you want anyone to help you. What did you try to do that didn't work the first time? What all did you wipe? What is your device doing now? How did you try and use the RUU and did it give you any clues when it didn't work? Can you boot into fastboot mode at all?

If converting, soff is needed, and you have to incrementally update device to current ota.. Cannot just change cid and mid and flash the Nougat ruu...

You will have to take the 1.56.X latest ruu manually (from recovery or SD download mode) and then upgrade using the OTA.
Or PM me for the firmware image for the a9 to get to nougat.

Converting AT&T carrier unlocked HTC One A9 from stock 1.27.502.5 to Nougat

Hey All,
Apologies if this is obvious but I couldn't figure it out myself looking at the FAQ's etc.
I just purchased a new HTC One A9 which was carrier unlocked by AT&T, and I want to convert from the RUU version they use (1.27.502.5) to the latest version that HTC has released on their website - 2.18.617.10 .
However, when I go to do this using that RUU, I get signature error 132. My phone is bootloader locked and S-ON, but from reading a little, I thought that shouldn't matter because I have a US phone, and you only need to change the CID/MID stuff (whatever those are) if you're in a different region?
How would I go about doing this? From reading through a bunch of posts, do I first need to switch to an unlocked version of Marshmallow, before then upgrading to Nougat?
Edit: Upon further reading, does the fact that the 502 in my current version does not match 617 in the one I wish to upgrade to mean that I can't do this with S-on? Do I need S-off? If so, how do I do that? Is it only by purchasing sunshine?
Thank you for your time!
Best,

In order to convert to another carrier version, you must change your CID and MID to match the RUU version you want to flash. .617 uses the same MID as .502 so you'll need to change your CID only from CWS__001 to BS_US001. Changing CID does requires S-OFF (Sunshine is the best way unless you know someone with a XTC2Clip box).
You'll also need to update your firmware to Nougat before flashing the Nougat RUU because of the signature change implemented in Nougat.

Okay thanks so much Two more quick questions.
1) Does changing to S-off have any consequences in terms of a future update? I'm guessing it will void my warranty, but say I wanted to go back to using AT&T's version of android. Would the fact that my phone is now S-off prevent me from using their RUU (assuming I change the CID back.) I guess my question is, warranty aside, is there really any negative to turning S-off?
2) This is more out of curiosity. HTC One Phones that were sold unlocked/developer that are currently running Marshmallow can be upgraded to Nougat without flashing the firmware to 2.xx.xxx.x right? So if I was to change my current CID to that of a developer One A9, and install that Marshamallow RUU say (1.57.617.60), why wouldn't I be able to simply update from within the OS as they do?
Thanks again for your time.
Best,
Bbsmitz

No, after converting to another version, you'll receive ota updates for that version.

Yes an no. There's always the possibility to revert back to your original version and hide everything you've done.

You would simply have to revert your CID back to CWS__001 and flash the at&t ruu. Changing the cid is easily done.

S-off gives you full control and access to all partitions which mean there is no more mechanism preventing you to flash incompatible software/firmware on your phone. Once s-off, be sure to understand what you're doing before flashing files. The risk is limited if you'll only be converting to another version or flashing custom roms but if you're going to explore a little deeper yeah it can be dangerous.

All A9 can simply be updated from the OS, not only the unlocked/dev version. The reason why you need to flash the firmware first before flashing a RUU is that HTC changed their encryption signature in Nougat. That mean your phone need the new decryption key to be able to flash Nougat RUU. Flashing the firmware first will update your phone with the new key, making it able to flash Nougat RUU.
There is a firmware.zip file inside ota updates. When you install an ota update from the OS, the first thing that is flashed on your phone is that firmware.zip. So no you don't need to manually flash the firmware because it's done automatically in the ota process.
Yes you could flash the 1.57.617.30 ruu and do the ota update after. It's just faster to flash the Nougat firmware first and the Nougat RUU instead of flashing the Marshmallow RUU and downloading + installing 2 ota udpates, well that's my opinion. Both methods will give the same result.

Edit2: I figured out the problem. I had to boot into the bootloader and then run
Code:
htc_fastboot oem rebootRUU
before I could run the RUU sucessfully. Am leaving the rest of this post up just so that other people googling this have a touch point.
Okay so I've used Sunshine to turn s-off and unlock my bootloader. I then changed my CID to BS_US001.
I then tried to install the HTC version of Marshmallow (maybe silly, but heard people having issues with Nougat and the battery) using the RUU.exe file. It started successfully, but then halfway though, after it had transferred the ROM over, it threw an ERROR155 and aborted, leaving my phone with an empty progress bar, and that circular green arrow icon in the middle. I used the command line to restart my device and had to factory wipe it, but otherwise not the worse for wear.
I tried googling it; do I need to relock my bootloader for the RUU.exe files to work? I think the Sunshine FAQ recommended against doing that. Is this a risky step?
Edit: Here are some instructions I found from the HTC One M8 firmware flashing thread. My error says "unknown" but I imagine its similar.
For “Error 155 relock bootloader" do:
- Since my thread works only with S-OFF phones anyway, this error can be read as: you need to S-OFF first!
- Error 155 can mean that you need SuperCID. On a few occasions this was shown when the RUU/FUU refused to run because of a wrong region lock.
- Lately, Error 155 has occurred when a FUU was launched from within android. When encountering a FUU error 155 with the process stalling after the rebootRUU (stuck at black screen with silver HTC logo), please just restart the FUU and leave the phone in that mode, or reboot the phone, then reboot to bootloader, then do “htc_fastboot oem rebootRUU” and then launch the FUU again (thanks @anarchychris for pointing it out).
- run the fastboot command “htc_fastboot oem lock" - only applies to S-ON phones that want to update the firmware with a stock OTA package (not offered on this thread!!). Stock OTA files sometimes need a locked bootloader.

How do I get started to do this. How do I find out my mid Cid and if I need to change? How do I flash firmware first? I have android 6.0 software 1.27.502.5. I have done a run before but never changed from a carrier. I went to the link above but I don't know what some if this means and where to start and what steps to take in order.
