I have tried every possible kernel offered on XDA and my T889 Note II Will NOT boot any of them. I am running Resurrection Remix, and i must say I'm about to toss it because I want a custom kernel and it doesn't appear to like anything but the stock CM13 Kernel. I have tried EVERYTHING. Any ideas? Sorry i just noticed this is a note 12 channel not note 2, relatively the same though right?

Hi everyone I'm new to the forum and also new to android. I've been a iPhone user since the iPhone 3G & decided to get myself a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910T (T-Mobile). I am currently running CM12.1 nightly ROM using TWRP recovery. I was looking around and found the CM Remix ROM & I'm itching to get my hands on it. I'm a noob when it come to android and to custom ROMs, but managed to get my phone rooted and flashed a custom ROM without turning my phone into a paperweight. So I'm trying to get a little direction and some know how to get CM Remix ROM with lollipop or maybe the new marshmallow. I really like CM12.1 nightly but I'm wanting all the extra tweaks and performance. So is it possible to flash the CM Remix ROM if I'm using CM12.1 NIGHTLY ROM currently? If so what files would I need. My build is CM-trltetmo 5.1.1 kernel version 3.10.40-gef59855 build CyanogenMod #1. I also just flashed the current version of CM12.1 nightly today (Oct. 27 2015). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
You've asked in the correct section:
[Q&A] [ROM][ OFFICIAL ][ cmRemiX ][cm-12.0][ TRLTEtmo ] cmRemiX-Rom v6.0
so I'll close this thread.
Quick answer since you didn't get help yet.
CM Remix files can be downloaded here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/rom-cmremix-rom-v2-5-12-23-14-t2981479
Before flashing a new rom you have to do a full wipe from your recovery: wipe data / cache / dalvik cache
Hello,
question like in the title, because some years ago, as I rooted/unlocked my SG II (not plus!) and installed CM, I had to flash a kernel or something. I also had Stock-ROM 4.2.2. Don't remember exactly.
Now I want to install a Custom ROM like CM 12.1 (andixlm) or CM 13 (GHsR), which ones are recommended for more functions and better performance.
If I have to flash a kernel, which one are good ones?
Thank you
Any other useful hints very welcome!
A custom kernel isn't necessary to upgrade from stock rom to custom rom. However there are 2 custom kernel Nebula one (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2746991&page=15) and Mosh one (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2615010&page=58). I really like the first, because it has a lot of governors, schedulers and features. Lastly CM13 has more feature of CM12, but it's less stable, so choose what you like.
Hi,
I recently obtained an Ulefone U007. After a bunch of searching, the only non stock ROM I can find for it is a ported Chameleon ROM, which doesn't seem to be all that supported.
Is it worth even bothering trying to get a custom ROM working on it? Lineage, RR, Dirty Unicorns, Paranoid Android, etc. don't seem to support the U007. Or should I just keep it as another backup phone?
Thanks for any advice.
Hello everybody on XDA I am noob when it comes to this forum and android tickering.
Now I have got xda's android-andi's OS lineageos 14.1 on my device, and it's rooted.
How do I get a great custom kernel for it? Does the kernel need to be compatible with the operating system? Also which one is stable (i'd guess most of them)
I want a little overclocking to speed it up. Is dhollmen good?
In short:
Device Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 3G & WiFi (p5100)
OS running on it: LineageOS 14.1 (Nougat 7.1.2 based)
Custom kernal that can overclock etc. WANTED!
The solution is throw it into a garbage bin
Well, not. Lol. Mine it's so much faster with 14 and can be used. I know about Dholmenn kernel it oc at 1200 but never installed it since now
yesterday I install cutom rom for 1st time. Now I want to install a custom kernel but problem is I am confuse. So I want to know how should I select kernel does is depend on andriod version or does is depend on device I am using like custom rom.
I am using redmi note 5 (vince)
Rom is corvus os v 6.5
Also recommend me some good kernel for performance and if it is battery friendly its even better
also tell me things I have to wipe out before installing custom kernel using twrp recovery
thanks

It depends on the device you're using, the redmi note 5 forums have some good Kernel, read threads and see what the feedback is to know which kernel fits best your expectations.
Have fun flashing
