Galaxy Tab 2 (2012) p5100 with LineageOS 14.1 & Root - General Questions and Answers

Hello everybody on XDA I am noob when it comes to this forum and android tickering.
Now I have got xda's android-andi's OS lineageos 14.1 on my device, and it's rooted.
How do I get a great custom kernel for it? Does the kernel need to be compatible with the operating system? Also which one is stable (i'd guess most of them)
I want a little overclocking to speed it up. Is dhollmen good?
In short:
Device Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 3G & WiFi (p5100)
OS running on it: LineageOS 14.1 (Nougat 7.1.2 based)
Custom kernal that can overclock etc. WANTED!

The solution is throw it into a garbage bin

Well, not. Lol. Mine it's so much faster with 14 and can be used. I know about Dholmenn kernel it oc at 1200 but never installed it since now

Kernel Flash failures!

I have tried every possible kernel offered on XDA and my T889 Note II Will NOT boot any of them. I am running Resurrection Remix, and i must say I'm about to toss it because I want a custom kernel and it doesn't appear to like anything but the stock CM13 Kernel. I have tried EVERYTHING. Any ideas? Sorry i just noticed this is a note 12 channel not note 2, relatively the same though right?

[Resurrection Remix 5.8.4 unofficial] vs. [lineage 14.1]

I am looking to upgrade my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition sm-p607t from lollipop 5.1.1 to either {RR-N-v5.8.4-20170808-lt03lte-Unofficial} or {lineage-14.1-20170816-nightly-lt03lte-signed}.
I would like to get some opinions..... which one do you prefer? I like what i hear about the customization options from RR, but I am concerned about the unofficial version, and how easy/difficult it would be to update it as necessary. I was also wondering how the battery life and stability compare.
Thanks all
Battery life depends on you.
As for stability, that varies from device to device with the Android version. You can flash and see how you like it.
Being unofficial doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it. It's just not built from anyone on the team.

best Custom Kernel for SGS7

Hi there,
I changed my daily driver from Google Nexus 5 -> Samsung Galaxy S7 (not edge).
For the Nexus 5 I always used ElementalX Custom Kernel. As OS I used LineageOS 14.1
On my new SGS7 I now use LineageOS 14.1, too. Which Custom Kernel do you recommend?
(I liked to have the Android App for ElementalX ... is there a Custom Kernel for SGS7 with an Android App, too?)

No one use custom kernels? I can't believe this.
TGP and MoroKernel
Is what I use and am satisfied with.
Both use MTweaks (a modiffied version of kernel auditor) to customise the kernel for your needs

Is Slimroms any good?

Howdy, everyone. I have SM-G313HN and it has CM-12.1 Installed. Its not very smooth. I have a friend, who can compile roms to my device and i found SlimLP. is this any good for better battery life, performance etc?
A mobile device's performance basically depends on its hardware ( CPU / GPU / RAM ).
BTW: SlimLP is deprecated. See also here
[CLOSED][DEPRECATED] SlimLP
SlimLP Android 5.x A new "unified" Galaxy Tab 2 section was added to our forum because we don't make a difference between p31xx an p51xx specific roms. Please use the Thread here for SlimLP related questions and feedback

All of this dpends on rom quality and device specs. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (1 GB ram) and except for SlimKAT (Android 4.4), LP, MM, N are not at all good. All of them are slow and if installed gapps, they are terrible !! Only SlimKAT is best among Slimroms for Tab 2.

I have experience of Ressurrection Remix (android 6) because no one made any android 5 RR rom for tab 2. RR (android 6) is one of the best roms I've found (for galaxy tab 2)
