error retrieving info from server [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]

My galaxy S2 was working fine. I used google play a couple of days ago without any problem and today when I tried to update my app systemPanel from google play (or any other app), I got the error (there was no change to my S2):
Update for 'systemPanel app/Task Manager' could not be downloaded due to
an error. (error retrieving info from server [RPC:S-5:AEC-0])
what exactly does it mean?
I already tried everything below without success:
- clear data/cache of google play/google framework. This made it worse as when I started google play it said "no connection- retry". I had to restore app+data from titanium backup.
- clear data/cache 'download manager'
- uninstall updates for google play
- I have also deleted then added back my gmail account and it did not help.
I couldn't install any app either. I got the same error when I tried to install any app from Google play store.
I'd appreciate any help you can give.
Thank you.

Hi Guys ,
I have been encountering this weird issue for a few days now .
1-) My google account is not syncing at all , it says " sync is experiencing some problems and will be back shortly "
2-) I am unable to connect to the play store it just stays on " No connection - retry "
basically none of the google services are working . I am on stock rooted 4.2.2 rom . I tried factory reset / restoring a fresh backup of my rom but it did`nt worked !
When restoring it was not even letting me sign into my account . But after a dozen retries it did . Now i am stuck with no account sync / play store etc. My wife`s tab is working fine account sync / playstore wise

[Completed] Google Play Store not working

Hi all!
I have a Xiaomi Mi 3 and until yesterday everything was fine.
Today the Play Store stopped working. It writes "Check your connection and try again". If I press Retry it refreshes in less than 1 second and displays that error again.
I've tryed to clear data and cache of Play Store, wipe the cache of the phone, install a different version of the play store from an APK, delete the file /etc/hosts, delete the Google account and readd it...
But nothing worked.
Can you help me?
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist kindly factory reset your device and update your apps to latest version available for your device
Good Luck

[ Q ] Play Store Error 491

Greetings devs and users,
I would like to request your help on fixing an issue i have been dealing with for the past week or so, my google play store seems to always give the infamous error 491 every time i want to update or install something, this rendered my play store useless and i haven't been able to fix via anything.
I have tried:
1 - wiping play's data and cache, then rebooting
2 - wiping google services framework's data, then rebooting
3 - Removing my account, rebooting and then re adding it
4 - doing the same above but wiping dalvik-cache
5 - uninstalling and then re installing the Play Store apk
All without even temporary success.
What i have observed during the fixes is that something always happens, which is that as soon as i re add my account and the play store fires up again the 32+ needed updates i have flash on the status bar and then vanish without leaving any trace, not even an error message, then when i try to update them manually they give error 491.
I had the same error for a while on my previous tablet (GT-P3113, CyanogenMod 10). Fixed it by totally reinstalling GAPPS

I tried several methods without success. In the end, the result is always the same - play protect error.
Follow this method https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYOU_YxrHhc&t=1598s
Which account are you trying to log in ?
Same problem here, but with every app
I think i got it to work, i force stopped all the google apps and cleared cache and data 5 times on every app, restarted my phone, and now i dont get notifcations any more and the apps works (I also registered my device ID at google)
Yup now it works fine! Thank you!
