S Health not working on Nougat with knox tripped - Any workaround?? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Exactly as the title says, on Nougat with knox tripped Shealth doesnt work, has anyone got a workaround for this. Shealth for me is one of the most versatile Health Apps.
Thanks in advance.

Strange, works perfectly for me.

Hey. You just have to flash all files that came with rom zip file and everything wil work on your phone.

Download old shealth apk use it then update via play store and you're good to go.
Old apk link.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsun...ase/s-health-4-5-1-0011-android-apk-download/

Simply flash Helios ROM https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/rom-helios-v4-1-1-android-7-0-tw-zpl3-t3516786 Everything is working great on this ROM even My Knox, Secure Folder, Private mode and S Health of course. Samsung Pay and Android Pay also work (claimed I don't use it so didn't tested it)

Working Fix
This worked for me - Great workaround

SHealth and 5.0.1 Root

Has anyone had issues with shealth and rooting on lollipop? I ask because apparently there was an issue rooting KK and keeping Shealth. I didnt think ot important at the time. But now I want to use Shealth.. lmk your experiences fellas. If it is important, I'm on the Sprint variant. You feedback is greatly appreciated. XD
We discussed this a TON when the Note 4/Edge/S5 came out in at least a dozen different threads. I don't know if lollipop has the same issue, but the problem is with private mode and shealth. The final solution did not break either's functionality.
---------- Post added at 23:34 ---------- Previous post was at 23:31 ----------
but basically, after installing xposed, freeze shealth/privatemode/healthservices in titanium, wipe all data associated with them, install either wanam or the dedicated module to disable secure storage, unfreeze, and you're good to go.

Yes, I thank you for your feed back. I am very aware of the issues and the procedure with Kitkat. Hence the title "S-Health and 5.0.1 Root."
I am curious as to see if people are experiencing FC with the Shealth while rooted, while on Lollipop.
Did my root after lollipop ota,did nothing but root, s health and private work flawlessly. I either got lucky or lolippop fixed it. On sprint also if it matters

Awesome, that sounds promising. Now did you use chainfire's autoroot or did you Odin a recovery and flash 2.45 Superuser Zip?

I only pointed it out as you seemed to be implying that shealth must be broken in "I ask because apparently there was an issue rooting KK and keeping Shealth." As the method for keeping shealth working involved an xposed module, that seemed relevant to 5.0.1 root, had there been any issues, since Xposed bootloops our devices as of now. That being said, if I remember correctly, the problems with shealth and private mode were only due to the xposed module itself breaking secure storage, not root on it's own, so we really have no way of knowing if shealth/private mode will have the same issues on Lollipop until the Xposed module is patched for Lollipop. I'm guessing though that once it is, if there are still issues with secure storage, the fixes will be updated for Lollipop as well.

Awesome, thank you for the info. So would you, in your opinion, think it wise to wait to root? Until Xposed is ready?

It could very well be several months before Xposed is usable on our devices, at least while on Lollipop. If you're thinking of moving to Lollipop, make sure you're willing to live without Xposed for the foreseeable future.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure all the compatibility issues were due to xposed. Back when I first got the Edge, the only time symptoms presented (lagging, crashing, installs taking forever, SU requests delayed, SMS not sending, <--all due to secure storage being broken) was when I had xposed installed (before I learned about the secure storage fix). The moment I uninstalled it, texts would go through, installs were snappy, no lag, etc. (AND shealth working). Just rooting should be fine. I mentioned in another thread, my friend had updated his Note 4 to Lollipop and after I rooted and set up a few things, it was still working fine.
Just remember that when Xposed does come out for TW to do as I said before and install the secure storage fix from either the dedicated module or Wanam if you start seeing any of the symptoms of secure storage incompatibility.
Since you did ask whether it would be wise to root, based entirely on the symptoms exclusively and ignoring that just rooting wont even cause them, I'd say go ahead as it's nothing that's completely crippling, won't affect your data, and it's fully reversible.

SHealth & Private Mode with rooted Nougat

Hey guys,
It sounds like that neither SHealth nor private mode is working when the phone is rooted. In MM I just used XTouchwiz and made the device status official. What needs to be done to get both working in rooted Nougat? I´ve already seen some roms which figured out, but I want to know how it is done so can use a rooted stock rom.
Thanks in advance
Why not deinstall SHealth as a system-app and reinstall it using the Samsung app-shop. It worked for me on MM.

Is it really that simple on Nougat? Some users report that a tripped knox is preventing SHealth from starting. I´d be suprised if this method tricks the system.

I am rooted, so Knox definetly is ticked and SHealth was deinstalled and then reinstalled using the Samsung app-shop (as written above). And SHealth is happily counting steps and stuff. So, for me it is working on a rooted S7!

Hmm OK. But did you also update SHealth from the Samsung app store? Did you debloat your device and delete knox? Can you check if private mode still works?
Thanks for your replies guys.
I confirm, since I updated to official Nougat BTU yesterday, S-Health doesn't work anymore. Knox tripped but 100% official installation without root anymore (on top, factory reset done before moving to Nougat).
When I open the app, it says the device security has been compromised and that Knox cannot work. Samsung just decided to limit the usage or our phone if Knox is tripped, even if the phone isn't rooted!!
Hi!
My phone has tripped KNOX, S Health didn't working on fresh Nougat install.
After I rooted my S7 with Nougat, I deleted the current S Health files in system/app and I download an older (4.8 maybe) version of program from apkmirror and install it as "normal" application, then this updated with newest one from play store and it working good.
Sorry for my English

Hi! You would try this:

Thanks,
my phone is encrypted (i want it encrypted) and has the SD card configured as internal storage. They explaining here to wipe, this is not an option as this costs too much time to get it back to current state. All steps excepted the wiping i tried. resulted in >20min loop.

In this method the wipe is necessary. I can't find other working root solution at this time
While the device is not rooted actually, (KNOX Warranty Void 0x1 already) S Health can't working, that is must have to me.
Or Or
Warranty is not complete void by EU Law. Samsung can only void what they offer beside the minimum regulations.
I have right now also a phone i can not really use for Internet (ads) and it is carrying some social-media-bloatware. Need to wait for updates of CF Autoroot or what else.
Also S Health working fine in LineageOS 14.1 for me. Install Health Service APK (Google) ans S Health from Playstore
Just download version 4.8 and it works like a charm with nougat if you're rooted, have to uninstall the original s health with maybe titanium backup and then download from here
https://f.apk4fun.com/f.php?p=10204...ppRU1xZz09&d=ajk0Q0FnMXZHcmVSNVdvYUNRYjVodz09.
Have fun
Try set ro.config.tima to 0 in your build.prop. If that doesn't work then you'll need a patched AuthFramework.

Downgrading from Nougat to Marshmallow

Anyone can tell me is it possible to safely downgrade to marshmallow from Nougat using Odin via flashing stock S6 firmware? or anyone has succesfully done this?
Yes, it is possible and can be done safely.
Is safe because bootloader binary code is still 5 on nougat
But why would you want to downgrade?

Because S-Health is not working in Nougat as I have tripped knox so I have to first install S Health in marshmallow and then I have to upgrade via OTA to keep S Health working!

bro you can make s health work without downgrading .... just root your android nouget .. then install an app (name = BuildProp ) from playstore .. then go to youtube and type (Fix Your device has been compromised s health) you will find a 16 sec video (I am a new user so cannot paste an external link ) .. Trust me It worked :good: thanks :good:

I flashed Nougat (925F) 2 days ago with Flashfire, as 925I didn't received Nougat yet, first boot worked, then bootlooped. Bootloader still showed up as Nougat, I know it as I had to do a factory reset after flashing. All I did was download 5.1.1 ZTO and flashed with "Odin 3.10.(forgot exact version)" and all went fine
I think to downgrade to MM too, nougat is very smooth and fast, no bug (XEF), but the battery drains faster than MM

Samsung blocks S8 App-Updates!

Hello guys,
A few days ago I got an update for my BTU-Firmware.
Befor I downloaded this update I installed the S8 Launcher and the S8 Weather App, but removed the S8 Launcher again. After this Samsung update (came OTA) I am/was unable to use any S8-App.apk. Already installed S8 Apps will stay but now it is not possible to use any S8.apk
My Baseband: G935FXXU1DQC2
My Buildnumber: NRD90M. G935FXXU1DQC4
I think nearly every Firmware for an update - Do not download it! If you have a "fix" please tell me

Download from APK mirror... yesterday i installed camera and touchwizz launcher ...
So what is your Baseband / Buildnumber?
I am thinking to flash my phone back before the update to install the S8-Apps but if the Firmware is not the reason I will try something else.
Same problem there. I have made a factory reset and I can again install all apps but after some hours i am blocked again. So I can't install no more the s8 apps in my s7 edge.
If someone can help me it will be great
Thanks all
The frimware is the reason
Actually only one app from knox is the problem if you stop that youre able to install all S8 apps normally suddenly i wont able to update but after making some some changes to battery optimizations i got able to install all apps easily on my S6E but after that i changed the optimizations again and again i wont able to install so all you have to do is just find that app that cause this problem

The problem is the secure folder and samsung pass is preinstalled on S6E june security patch im going to test the disabler apps to see what happens if i disable them
Hope that fix it
***All android 7 roms on January security patch can install all S8 apps normally and dont get any errors at all
Tried disabling Samsung Pass and Secure Folder, uninstalled these apps to facteoy defaults, cleared their data and cleared all caches, rebooted - still cant install anything from S8 on my S7 G930F with July security patch. I was able to install anything for about 2 days when the patch arrived. It must be some kind of app blocking that. We just need to find out which is it.
