Maybe someone can help: I installed the ebay app from the appstore within the gearmanager. It installs fine on my Phone, but I get an error from gearmanager saying it can't be installed.
I think the error is for installing it on the gear 2, because I can't find it back in my apps.
the same thing happens with apps like CNN and Watch Styler. they are all apps where you have a Phone app that installs and and a part that goes to the gear 2.
thanks for the help and hopefully answers
I'm having the same issue. My wife has a non rooted Note 3 everything installs good on her phone CNN & EBay Gear apps. I'm rooted running Dynamic Kat 2.0 I don't have any luck. Does anyone know how to fix this.
Same problem

I tried a watch face and feedly, no go.
I'm on an att note 3 running an unmentionable rom and have no issues installing apps to my gear.
Hi guys this is what I found so far I think the problem is with apps that need permissions these fail to install however apps that don't need permission install with no issues

OK heres what I did. Also to note I'm on the AT&T Note 3.
If you followed this guide below reverse all steps and remove everything they said to do first before you proceed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723862
1 Power off watch
2 Go to application manager and uninstall Samsung Apps, gear manager, connection manager, host manager, basically anything that has a icon of the gear watch next to it.
3 Go here post 3310 and get Samsung Apps and gear manager. Also hit that thanks button for BeastSpencer.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2709701
4 Make sure to turn off xposed module for gear notification hide. (If using it)
5 Reboot phone into recovery (I use safe strap, dang bootloader lock)
6 Now flash the Samsung Apps you downloaded earlier.
7 Wipe cache/dalvik them reboot.
8 After fully booted, start Samsung Apps and it will say it needs to update, let it do so.
9 Reboot back into recovery and flash hear manager.
10 Wipe cache/dalvik again, reboot.
11 Now power on watch.
12 Start gear manager and it will need update, let it do so.
13 When it's done updating try connecting to watch, it will say watch needs restored, let it do so, after reboot, it will try and connect, you will have to accept all the Eula again and confirm pass code.
14 Let it all settle in and then try to install the eBay app, if all went well you will be golden.
15 Profit from your success. Lol

Glad to hear. I know how frustrating this has been. It's plagued me since I bought my watch.
I'm so glad that I can use the watch styler app now, even though it's not the most intuitive app in the app store.

It did not work for me on a Note 2 running ditto ROM
The zip's did not install the apps
I had issues when i first got the gear. So I reflashed my rom. Then I was able to install apps. Then one by one I started uninstalling the apps II usually do. Turns out it was something with Samsung Hub. As soon as I uninstalled it, apps stopped installing on my gear. Tried re installing Hub and it still didn't work. So reflashed rom again and got it working again. Haven't touched hub anymore.

That's because those zips are for the note 3. But will possible work on other devices/roms. All you can do is try. Have you talked to the rom developer? Dynamic Kat developer is very active.

Well I finally got things working on my note 2.
I guess it has somethings to do with kitkat, because I went back to a custom rom with android 4.3, everything works fine then,
when I flash a 4.4 rom it does not work anymore, no watchstyler, CNN or Ebay.
So for now it is android 4.3, just to have it working
Hello there,
Had trouble getting the 6045Y rooted with TWRP since it was on 6.0.1 locked bootloader, stock recovery.
Ended up flashing Eluga lollipop rom and was then able to flash TWRP 3.0, root etc.
I've now got lineage14.1, but a lot of apps in the play store say that they're not compatible with my device.
Checked the build prop, it says TCL instead of alcatel, but I'm 100% certain it's an alcatel.
- Tried changing things in the build prop
- Tried clearing play store cache and data
- Installed latest google play services in case
Not sure how to get rid of that message. I could download the apks for every app but that could take a while.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thanks for the help
There is an app in playstore which can spoof the playstore and make it think you are using a different type of phone that is compatible....

Nice, I'll have to see if it's still compatible considering it looks like an old app. I'll be able to try on monday when I get the phone back. If it does work I'll come back for the thumbs up.
Thanks a lot

Yeah it doesn't work unfortunately. App hasn't been updated in a while and gives me an error. I'll look for an alternative though.
Thanks
Aye that is a shame - used the app a couple of years ago and it worked like a charm
Did you try the build.prop tweak method described in the article at the end ? {you have to do a bit more than edit the file}
Hello there
I am running a custom ROM on my Galaxy S8 and it is rooted using Magisk rather than SuperSU. SnapChat works fine with Magisk as it does not detect the root, however I've tried everything with the Barclays Mobile App but I just get stuck on the first screen and nothing happens afterwards.
At first it used to ask me to grant it root permissions and of course I did, but it has never actually worked.
I am not completely sure, but I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that my device is rooted.
Can someone please shed some light on this? I really need to get this application working as it is important for me. Do I have to go back to completely stock in order to use this application?
Thanks!
yes, it doesn't work on rooted devices. One of the ways that it tries to detect root is by trying to get root, as it happened in you case. By granting it root access, you marked your phone as rooted, and disabled the app. In case you were wondering, it has many other ways to detect root. It used to work with magisk hide, but I tried just today, and it seems that they can detect it too, as I can't use it anymore. By the way, your phone is flagged as rooted, and you will either have to do a factory reset to get it working, or call Barclays, but I think that there is no way to get it working. If you find out how to get it to work, please share it.

Hi Folks,
I've been away for a long time on XDA but I'm back trying to root my S8+ and ofcourse with success.
I made what I believe is my own version wich works for me on to one little detail...Youtube Vanced.
Installed some APK packages, nothing worked with MicroAMG for logging on. After two days (and I don't really know what I did)
I just saw after the 100th boot my Youtube was gone and instead it was Vanced. So no two applications but just the one. It worked for
like three days and know Youtube is back. Like it has overwritten Vanced.
Google Play is not on automatic updates.
Is there a solution, a tool, a workaroud that I can do to make this permanent?
Thanks in advance,
Fabian1985

Try to use the YouTube Vanced Magisk module. Uninstall the vanced apk u installed before flashing the Magisk module.
Thanks for the reply.
I already tried that but it does not install. It does something...maby need trying to flash it with tgwp?
Turn off auto update on your Play Store, don't update the YouTube app. Detach YouTube from market using Titanium Backup.
If it still doesn't work, install the standalone no root version of the app via XDA Labs and install MicroG.
Yeah I didn't know you could detach it thru Titanium Backup.
Now I've got the non rooted version but no MicroG is working. When signing in it keeps trying but with no success. Gonna trie to detach it thanks!!!
Thanks bro it did the trick!!
