Moto turbo UI lag - Moto Maxx Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does UI of official marshmallow of moto turbo lag? I am experiencing often lag in UI of official marshmallow, even my older oneplus one was faster. Are these custom roms smooth? I just wanted to confirm because I dont want to unlock the bootloader and void my warranty.

That's your own decision. It depends on your expectations. Almost every thread of XDA starts off with "Your warranty is voided". It's just a normal part of modding your phone.
People who don't know what they are doing and mess up their phones -- or don't even make TWRP backups -- then want to go crying to the manufacturer to replace their hardware, when it's not the manufacturer's fault. I just talked a guy through fixing his phone who flashed something he shouldn't have flashed, and he yet he had TWRP. He had not made any backups. Restoring a TWRP backup would have taken 5-10 minutes vs the TWO days it took to fix his phone. I'm glad to help, but doing basic stuff like making backups is part of this hobby.
As for me, I immediately voided the warranty on all my Android phones over the years -- including two Moto Maxx XT1225. Rooting/customization is too important to me. I even flashed those two XT1225 with Moto Turbo firmware, because Motorola launched the Moto Turbo XT1225 in India with 5.0.2 in March 2015, while the Moto Maxx XT1225 stayed with Kitkat 4.4.4 for another month... I didn't want to wait, so I turned them into Moto Turbo XT1225 and had Lolllipop. Before we got custom ROMs, I used xposed framework with Gravity Box to get custom ROM features. Since then, I've flashed CM12, CM12.1, RR 6.X.
One of my 3 Moto Maxx XT1225 is still in the box -- with stock KitKat (not even updated to Lollipop or Marshmallow) -- but only because it's a backup for me and my wife. If I ever had to use it, it would immediately be rooted.
And with these Motorola phones you have to unlock the bootloader to root, install TWRP.
_________
As far as lag, there are ways to minimize that even on stock. I use these settings below even on custom ROMs.
1) Enable Developer Options to get to these Settings. (Doesn't require root, for those who may not know.)
2) Change animation settings to make them complete faster.
3) Let the GPU take more of the graphics work.

User Profiles on Stock 4.4.2 Verizon

I had to send to phone in due to charger plug went bad, replaced for free. Yea. But now I am on 4.4.2 from Verizon. I rooted using Towelroot, awesome BTW and easy. Installed Xposed and Gravity Box since there is no too install custom ROM's yet(Slim was my go to). Now to my question. Where are user profiles? I thought this was made available on 4.2 or 4.3 but since I have used nothing but custom Roms up until now I don't know for sure. Does the Samsumg version on 4.4.2 remove this feature? I have been playing with Gravity Box to customize the look but quicksetting still appears to have the TW look, I forgot how ugly it is. I am assuming it's a Verizon thing but don't know if I'm just missing something. I don't see user profile in any the phone setting.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I believe multi user profiles is only available with tablet. You need to install an multi user profiles apk in order to see the feature.

Above image is more of what I want.
Bottom image is what 4.4.2 on verizon gives me
As buhohitr advised, you'll need a ROM or available .zip installer that has multiple users as a feature. To my knowledge the HyperDrive ROM supports this on the tablet, but I have a VZW GS3 and have tried multiple ROMs on it. I haven't seen multiple profiles at this point.
Thank you both for your help. Miss flashing. Most of the Roms I have used have had that feature, Slimkat, hellfire, and SOKP

[Completed] [Q] Few Issues from a newb after flashing VZN HTC ONE (M7)

Hi All
I am android rooting newb, however an experienced software engineer
Context:
A T-Mobile customer, Already own a T-Mobile HTC One
Needed phone for my daughter - so I bought a Verizon HTC One (M7) Unlocked, on ebay with intention to use on T-Mobile (and maybe one day AT&T/Cricket)
had I known it was a VZN I would have probably skipped to the next one
When I saw it was on 4.4.2 I figured I'd get 5.x (Lollipop) on and maybe root just for fun
Did the S-OFF hack via Sunshine ($25)
rooted (I forget all the steps I used to root, but they involved TWRP in recovery)
Installed @santod040's Debloated Stock Rooted from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2485319.
My versions match the version screenshots in the post (except for PRL)
(Lollipop 5.0.2 | Sense 6.0 | 6.22.605.3 CL CL495599 release keys)
Issues:
Before flashing (and even after rooting) `adbd` (ADB Daemon, on the phone) used to run unpriviliged (probably user `shell`) so that you needed to run commands with `su`. Now after installing the above image `adbd`runs as root.<p>
For one I cant `adb install xyz.apk` from my PC because of file permissions, but in general it seems like something I'd like to avoid (does it mean any app can gain root without me authorizing it?)
While the phone seems to work fine with my T-Mobile SIM for calls, I have the following issues

}
I have to enter APNs manually (not sure I'm doing it right)
I have a SIM warning that does not go away in the notification bar
Questions:
Should I have flashed with Non-Verizon image? or radio (I read that this phone has only one LTE band supported, and its just the CDMA Is this different radio hardware than the non-cdma models, or is it just a different radio image, do they expect their global-roaming users to have super slow data?)
Is there anything I can do to gain normal data functionality on T-Mobile (i.e. LTE)
if so, can I also get rid of the annoying notification (not as critical than LTE)
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Unfortunately Verizon only uses 700Mhz LTE, see this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one/help/frequently-questions-t2875695. So you are not going to get LTE on T-Mobile.
Here is some more information, none of it looks good for you

Help with regards to stock ROM

Hello, and many thanx in advance guys, below I am going to try to describe the issue that I am having.
- Have a Moto MAXX PR (do not know the original quark version, but it was an unlocked PR phone)
- Back in the days, went from 4.4 --> Brazilian soak test 5.0.1
- Have tried with numerous ways to go back to stock PR 4.4 in order to proceed to the Marshm. update
- Had no luck whatsoever..
Can someone provide me with the exact specific 4.4 PR rom as well as with the correct steps (RSD and twrp didn't work out), in order to go back to the stock KitKat?
Many thnx,
Nikos

I assume you meant 6.0.1?
Your issue (I think) is you have already updated the bootloader. So, while you theoretically can go back to 4.4.4, it has to be everything but the gpt.bin part. That part has to stay on Marshmallow.
Do you have TWRP installed? If so, then flash this. It the the Brazilian Marshmallow image and uses your radio.
[ROM][6.0.1][Stock][Odexed]MPG24.107-70.2 Brazilian 6.0.1 for XT1254[TWRP Flashable]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/development/rom-mpg24-107-70-2-brazilian-6-0-1-t3426234
If you flash it you have to be rooted and have TWRP installed. It's pure factory Marshmallow for ANY Quark -- XT1254, XT1250, XT1225. It will use whatever radio you already have installed.
iiWoodstocK said:
this ROM is just factory Marshmallow with a modded build.prop. I didn't include any radio in the .zip, so it uses whatever is currently on the device. Aside from my build.prop tweaks, this ROM is even usable for Brazilian XT1225 users, but the device will say it's a Droid Turbo and contain useless CDMA build.prop lines.

If you don't have TWRP installed, then flash one of these via ADB:
It's the final official Marshmallow XT1225 factory image. There's India, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Brazil. Probably best to stick with Brazil or Puerto Rico.

i found that can we have g5 rom 6.0 on lg g flex 2 with g5 apps fully working on lock

i found even that we have unlocked bootloader we can have a huge amount of custom roms on mm i am haply to say g flex 2 is a boss we can have g5 rom and everything like one hand operation
Full theme UX5.0
Added camera LG V10 (and you can store photos / videos on external SD).
MiniView.
Wallpapers 360 (LG G5).
Added Ad Blocker (Hosts).
Replaced the Emojis LG by Apple (Whatsapp).
Camera stock with 60fps/64Mbps.
Removed unnecessary apps by Google.
Dual-Windows for all apps.
that i am thinking the v10 camera is diffecult because we dont have camera api 2
And Now?
Edit:...
And HOW?
with kdz modder system img
but the question is still how to unlock the bootloader. till then we can't do anything
You mean Flash a Custom Made kdz with lgup (or similar) onto our "lockedbootloader Device"?
This would be like a Dream come True
Is this thread just for speculations or there are some proof about flashing "g5" rom?
Proof or didn't happen.
BTW Flex 2 has Camera2 API.

we can do this the dream it was from the first tiime
Guys i have a G4 but i can confirm this IS possible. we got a custom kdz for BLLock with a UX 5.0 theme. its not a full port, but still, its VERY good!
If there is a root for 6.0 without BL unlock, then you can modify a 6.0.1 system img to your liking. and if the international variant is BL unlockable he can make a system img with the theme, and then people can just modify it for their variants.
As long as system is not injected with super su and root binaries and scripts framework modding and other tweaks are still possible even on MM..
But no one working on it..
We did have g4 modds for LP with root and busybox..
Is the Send_command way still working on MM?
I've tried but nothing happened.

Downgrading from 5.1 to 4.3

I have the Moto G 1st Gen (XT1028) for Verizon Prepaid. I've had it for about 2 1/2 years and I really want to downgrade it to it's original operating system. I usually check here every couple of months to see if there's yet a way to unlock the bootloader, but no luck. I know there's the sunshine unlocker, but that isn't compatible with my 5.1 operating system. Is there any way to downgrade my phone back to 4.3 without unlocking the bootloader? Thanks for any help, I greatly appreciate it.

Hi,
Don't want to be rude, but answer is "no way".
Without unlocking, nothing to do... By the way, seems to be a bad idea to downgrade, risks of bricking your phone...

but unable flash 4.3

This is not possible for you - even if you could flash the firmware image. The only way to boot the Jelly Bean Stock 4.3 Kernel (and ROM) is to never update your phone's Bootloader. Once Bootloader has been upgraded, you can never go back. Stock Kitkat is the earliest option available.
