Hello, and many thanx in advance guys, below I am going to try to describe the issue that I am having.
- Have a Moto MAXX PR (do not know the original quark version, but it was an unlocked PR phone)
- Back in the days, went from 4.4 --> Brazilian soak test 5.0.1
- Have tried with numerous ways to go back to stock PR 4.4 in order to proceed to the Marshm. update
- Had no luck whatsoever..
Can someone provide me with the exact specific 4.4 PR rom as well as with the correct steps (RSD and twrp didn't work out), in order to go back to the stock KitKat?
Many thnx,
Nikos

I assume you meant 6.0.1?
Your issue (I think) is you have already updated the bootloader. So, while you theoretically can go back to 4.4.4, it has to be everything but the gpt.bin part. That part has to stay on Marshmallow.
Do you have TWRP installed? If so, then flash this. It the the Brazilian Marshmallow image and uses your radio.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/development/rom-mpg24-107-70-2-brazilian-6-0-1-t3426234
If you flash it you have to be rooted and have TWRP installed. It's pure factory Marshmallow for ANY Quark -- XT1254, XT1250, XT1225. It will use whatever radio you already have installed.
iiWoodstocK said:
this ROM is just factory Marshmallow with a modded build.prop. I didn't include any radio in the .zip, so it uses whatever is currently on the device. Aside from my build.prop tweaks, this ROM is even usable for Brazilian XT1225 users, but the device will say it's a Droid Turbo and contain useless CDMA build.prop lines.

If you don't have TWRP installed, then flash one of these via ADB:
It's the final official Marshmallow XT1225 factory image. There's India, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Brazil. Probably best to stick with Brazil or Puerto Rico.

After installing faux kernel for 4.4.2 in the moto g I've been running into the problem of not getting correct battery readings. It would hit 30%then drop to 1% in seconds or just die. Here's a pic showing 1% but look at the battery level. I'd said 30% a minute earlier

Known issue, unrelated to Faux Kernel. Fixed in Stock Android 4.4.3 / 4.4.4. What model of Moto G do you have?

Sorry u.s. cricket aio variant. Cwm 6.0.5.1 using. When flashing roms it sends into bootloop. This moto g was not supported by Motorola to unlock the bootloader. When backing up the phone I've used twrp and cwm both always fail when backing up data.
i really think you are better off with the stock kernel, faux kernel is based on 4.4.2 wich has the bug you are reporting, i suggest you get your phone back to stock and try to update to 4.4.4 if its available , i dont know if you could flash 4.4.4 from another carrier tho, i guess it should work since its a xt1032 too
I'll give that a try. Last night it jumped from 87%-100%in a second then died at 30%. Thanks for the advice
New OK1 modem for the I337M (Canadian variant)
To flash, download the file below and extract into a folder. Reboot your phone into download mode and open Odin. Click CP button and find the modem.bin file.
Untick Auto Reboot as you will have to flash AT LEAST TWICE to get the modem to stick.
Click start and let the flashing complete. Once done, close Odin and reboot your phone back into download mode and reopen Odin. Flash modem.bin again and restart your phone once done. If the modem did not stick, you may have to flash three times in a row.

I have a SGH-i337M running 6.0.1 but my modem is ancient (from kitkat or something)
Will this modem work for my telus i337m?
Thanks!
In addition to firenx I would also like to know as well.
Additionally, if I could get a quick one or two sentences on the proper upgrade path to using a 5.x.x or 6.x.x ROM it would be greatly appreciated. I've tried a couple things but in the end I usually arrive at a non booting or functional system - I'm thinking there's something I'm doing wrong (or simply not doing).
I have a good amount of experience, I figure I've glazed over something.

Yes - it will work on Telus I337M. I am currently using this modem on my Telus S4. However, I am running 5.1.1 so I am not sure if it will work with marshmallow.
I am now running Marshmallow 6.0.1 and the OK1 modem working flawlessly on my I337M.
Ahh, amazing troy thank you for the update. Starting at 4.4.2 I enabled AWS, and let OTA update me to 5.0.1 with a OH1 basebase/modem, and AWS still intact.
I'm going to flash a MM rom this week and see if the modem will stay intact with the AWS still applied, and report back with my findings.
Thanks <3
I had to do it three times (didn't stick after twice) but third times the charm! Thanks!

please sir send me link 6.o.1 s4 i337m
I have 5.0.1 s4i337m where I find 6.0.1 Version
There is no 6.01 modem because there is no stock MM ROM.
Sometimes last year, i was flashing Xs_MIUI. At that time the network signal was gone. i mean there was some fault in the modem. Then i had to flash the qualcommTools to restore any network functionality. Although i have to switch LP or MM radios if i need any network. But laster i tried flashing some KK builds and even MIUI, but i wont get any network! so i supposed it was TWRP fault. but no i tried all the versions of TWRP to the lastest 3.X.X. that was ruled out. I thought my phone was gone for good. but then i tried this - SamartisanOS 3.0.0(alpha i think) but its based on KK and i have network. so which mean i can still use KK. I have to say that it even CM11(any modem version) does not work. i mean no network. So what should i do? appreciate some insight.

anyone with a solution?
Do you have imei on the ROMs that have no network?,
Did you use twrp to restore back and forth on kk and lp,mm etc?
nope imei was there, even if there was no network. from that time i m fixed to single rom for at least 2-3 days. and always have to clean flash
hmmm.. the latest cm nightly baseband is DI.3.0.c6-00241-M8974AAAAANAZM-1. if you can check what is the version of your baseband in settings>about, from your post, it looks like you have 44S modem. (kitkat). If you alleady tried TWRP 2.8.6 to flash the modem files, then you need to adb install. Lot of users "claim" that oxygenOS radios are best. you may want to try that or get cm13 latest one. heres a start
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/list-oneplus-one-firmwares-modems.421783/
And
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/firmware-modem-oneplus-one-lollipop-t3300907
lolipop basebands are ok with me. its like MIUI is 4.4 and if i use a LP modem, the screen goes black whever there is a call. whereas with KK modems there are no network at all
follow my last comments.. confirm if none of them are working. including the steps you had done, the result. and take screenshots of the flashed modems (go settings> about>baseband.. and screenshot) so that i am sure you tried them to confer further with a dev. u do know that it wont get repaired on its own right? need to put up some work. as it is, we/I am not sure what caused this to haoppen. Could have happened if you were on kikat and flashed a MM build with incompatible TWRP.. twrp 2.8.7 didnt flash modems well. i think you know about it./
Oh...and correction of your post head.. its not a kitkat bug. its using incompatible modems. Caused by mislead instructions or user negligence to read and learn.
regarding MIUI, its well known that only kitkat modems work without the black screen in MIUI. but then kitkat modems have produced issues with LP & MM roms with updated modems. LP less but MM more issues. this is not a bug again... its how it works
i m not sure what you want me to do? exactly but i am on N right now. and i would like to try MIUI or CM11. my current baseband screenshots in the OP. i will upload after i flash MIUI and CM11 with KK baseband.
I have the Moto G 1st Gen (XT1028) for Verizon Prepaid. I've had it for about 2 1/2 years and I really want to downgrade it to it's original operating system. I usually check here every couple of months to see if there's yet a way to unlock the bootloader, but no luck. I know there's the sunshine unlocker, but that isn't compatible with my 5.1 operating system. Is there any way to downgrade my phone back to 4.3 without unlocking the bootloader? Thanks for any help, I greatly appreciate it.

Hi,
Don't want to be rude, but answer is "no way".
Without unlocking, nothing to do... By the way, seems to be a bad idea to downgrade, risks of bricking your phone...

This is not possible for you - even if you could flash the firmware image. The only way to boot the Jelly Bean Stock 4.3 Kernel (and ROM) is to never update your phone's Bootloader. Once Bootloader has been upgraded, you can never go back. Stock Kitkat is the earliest option available.
Does UI of official marshmallow of moto turbo lag? I am experiencing often lag in UI of official marshmallow, even my older oneplus one was faster. Are these custom roms smooth? I just wanted to confirm because I dont want to unlock the bootloader and void my warranty.

That's your own decision. It depends on your expectations. Almost every thread of XDA starts off with "Your warranty is voided". It's just a normal part of modding your phone.
People who don't know what they are doing and mess up their phones -- or don't even make TWRP backups -- then want to go crying to the manufacturer to replace their hardware, when it's not the manufacturer's fault. I just talked a guy through fixing his phone who flashed something he shouldn't have flashed, and he yet he had TWRP. He had not made any backups. Restoring a TWRP backup would have taken 5-10 minutes vs the TWO days it took to fix his phone. I'm glad to help, but doing basic stuff like making backups is part of this hobby.
As for me, I immediately voided the warranty on all my Android phones over the years -- including two Moto Maxx XT1225. Rooting/customization is too important to me. I even flashed those two XT1225 with Moto Turbo firmware, because Motorola launched the Moto Turbo XT1225 in India with 5.0.2 in March 2015, while the Moto Maxx XT1225 stayed with Kitkat 4.4.4 for another month... I didn't want to wait, so I turned them into Moto Turbo XT1225 and had Lolllipop. Before we got custom ROMs, I used xposed framework with Gravity Box to get custom ROM features. Since then, I've flashed CM12, CM12.1, RR 6.X.
One of my 3 Moto Maxx XT1225 is still in the box -- with stock KitKat (not even updated to Lollipop or Marshmallow) -- but only because it's a backup for me and my wife. If I ever had to use it, it would immediately be rooted.
And with these Motorola phones you have to unlock the bootloader to root, install TWRP.
_________
As far as lag, there are ways to minimize that even on stock. I use these settings below even on custom ROMs.
1) Enable Developer Options to get to these Settings. (Doesn't require root, for those who may not know.)
2) Change animation settings to make them complete faster.
3) Let the GPU take more of the graphics work.
