Ok I bought a used S2 watch and its not locked. I am a little afraid to do a reset due to what some people have encountered...... Locked Device...... It works but I have not tried to connect to a Samsung Gear Manager app as of yet. Should I try it or is there a process in order to get it connected to my Samsung account?
My HTC M9 using the Gear Manager app can find the Gear S2 (7836) watch. The watch will then go into setting up mode and then the app will stop working. I get Notice Download failed. Try again. I keep on tapping on OK but the message reappears. I am using Sprint 4g data service and my connecting good. What should I do..... Help?!?!?!?
Could it be superuser.... I'm not getting a permission for Samsung Gear. I haven't been able to grant it or deny it.

Hello, I had just bought my gear 2 today and after charging it fully I tried to follow the instructions and download the gear manager app on my galaxy note 4. It installed the latest version. I opened it and it immediately crashed. The only way I can open the app is to press the active apps button at the bottom of the phone and go to the app that way. Doing that it pairs and finds the watch just fine. I press on the gear to start "connecting" after it paired. It endlessly connects, with no error messages. I've updated the gear via kies. I've installed a previous version of gear manager. I've factory reset the gear. All to no avail. I've gotten around the startup wizard on the gear so I can use it but the time is wrong, and I can't use any of the actually useful functions that you need to pair with a phone to use. I called Samsung and talked to some Asian chick who told me to restart the phone and the watch. Obviously that didn't work and I had already tried it so I yelled at her and she created a report. Don't know what that will do for me then she referred me to a freakin best buy and said I quote "go to local best buy and have them look at it"
Seriously hoping if any of you can help me. I don't know what to do after this and I really wanna be able to see even a correct time on my watch. Thanks in advance for anything you can do to help.
hello all,
i dont know what i was thinking when i forced closed gear app and it services, and the Samsung accessory service as well, and now my i cant connect to my gear anymore
i have done a light reset and factory reset to my gear s2, and am not able to make it to connect again to my note 3 anyway
also i have uninstalled the gear app and reinstalled again and unpairing the watch , but still its not connecting, it is getting stuck at connecting to gear ,
i tried connecting the gear to other phone it worked, but with my note it is not working , any suggestions ?
***Update - Never mind fixed it by a factory reset of my phone
Connecting to phone with S2
I try to make a phone call from my watch and get the message "connect to bluetooth" I touch the tick for yes and my watch and phone are connected straight away. It never seems to connect otherwise, but connects every time this way, so that's what I do. Wrong way, but it works

For Future Reference - Ideal way to reconnect if you face issues
Ideally, you would not need a full reset of your phone, clearing the data of all the following should work fine -
1) Gear Manager
2) Samsung Accessory Service
3) Samsung Accessory System Providers

I have an unlocked GT-i9505G (Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition LTE). I recently bought a Samsung Gear S2 Classic from Swappa (verified working/perfect order). I've been trying to get it paired and recognized by my S4 phone for several days since I got it, with no luck until today. Brief timeline: installed the Samsung Gear app on phone as instructed by the message that came up on watch ("connect phone's browser to apps.samsung.com/gear and select the Galaxy version of Gear"). What was happening to me was 1) Starting the phone Gear app, touching the "search for Gear watch" tool, pair message on watch (touch OK (check), it displayed "Setting up" animated message on watch face) then 2) the phone app crashed with message "check your phone for current version is OK and restart Gear app", ad infinitum. Did several uninstall/reinstalls of Gear phone app along with watch factory resets (recovery) tool. No luck. After reading several posts over past few days of various phone app/watch issues, I finally decided that the Galaxy version of the Gear app was not recognizing my phone as a Galaxy phone, due to the fact that it splashes GOOGLE on startup and not true "Samsung Galaxy" from the system firmware (no Touchwiz for example). So I went back to the same apps.samsung.com/gear on phone browser, and selected NON-Galaxy version this time-- and after reading a few helpful hints from various posts, I noticed some people were having better luck by side-loading a Samsung APK called "Gear Plugin" which I did. Then I restarted both, held my breath & VOILA! The Gear app on the phone finally paired & connected the watch within the app itself without crashing! (Happy days are here again) Hope this might give you something to work with to get yours hopefully connected & paired with your S7.
I have a oneplus 2 on cm13, root xposed, and I stuck on connecting. I installed the three recommend apps.
Someone can help me please?
got my gear s3 frontier today.
installed the Samsung gear apps on my phone, huawei P9 and the phone connected to the watch.
configuration from the phone to the watch are working but i tried to download some apps to the watch and it looks like it's endlessly stuck on "installing" on the phone and nothing happens.
tried to installed mr. time maker and a watch face. both failed.
upgrading of current apps, also stuck.
what to do?
Factory reset the watch and try again?

Same issue on note 4
Same issue on note 4. Cannot install apps or watchfaces
Same issue
I have a not 4 and I am having the same problem. I reset the watch and still no use. It seems to be an issue with Samsung that they don'the want to admit to.
Same issue with S7 Edge. Reset everything, but no change. No problems like this with iPhone and iWatch. This is the third issue I've had with the S3!!!
After months of successfully using the S3 with an LG, I wanted to try it with a Samsung phone. I was never able to get it working. I got a "service unavailable 1000" error and couldn't install apps. Factory resetting the watch and phone did not fix it. I ended up using a different Samsung phone, which installed without issue.
Download the apps from the watch it's work for me,I think there is some bug at samsung apps store.
I have a non-Samsung Android phone (LG G4). I'm receiving the attached message on my Gear S3. I tap "OK" but the Gear App on my phone does not prompt for credentials and so I am unable to use Samsung Pay on the watch.
Any ideas?
Just open up Samsung pay within the gear app on phone.

I tried that and the app opens just fine. It even shows me all my cards and transactions. It does not prompt me for credentials.
I've also tried signing out of my Samsung account and then sign back in. I also powercycled both the watch and the phone.
ETA: There is an option there to reset the app, however, if I reset the app then all the cards, transactions, etc. go away. I would have to contact my banks and re-add the cards, so I was hoping to find another solution before I did that.

Make sure phone and watch connected when you open the app. I got that notification the other day. Sucks when you're in a rush and it asks that.

Just to follow up on this. I ended up doing a hard reset of my watch, which was probably unnecessary. I probably should have just reset Samsung Pay, but I was just getting a little impatient. I had to set everything back up again from scratch. I hope I don't have to do this again.
