I have an unlocked GT-i9505G (Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition LTE). I recently bought a Samsung Gear S2 Classic from Swappa (verified working/perfect order). I've been trying to get it paired and recognized by my S4 phone for several days since I got it, with no luck until today. Brief timeline: installed the Samsung Gear app on phone as instructed by the message that came up on watch ("connect phone's browser to apps.samsung.com/gear and select the Galaxy version of Gear"). What was happening to me was 1) Starting the phone Gear app, touching the "search for Gear watch" tool, pair message on watch (touch OK (check), it displayed "Setting up" animated message on watch face) then 2) the phone app crashed with message "check your phone for current version is OK and restart Gear app", ad infinitum. Did several uninstall/reinstalls of Gear phone app along with watch factory resets (recovery) tool. No luck. After reading several posts over past few days of various phone app/watch issues, I finally decided that the Galaxy version of the Gear app was not recognizing my phone as a Galaxy phone, due to the fact that it splashes GOOGLE on startup and not true "Samsung Galaxy" from the system firmware (no Touchwiz for example). So I went back to the same apps.samsung.com/gear on phone browser, and selected NON-Galaxy version this time-- and after reading a few helpful hints from various posts, I noticed some people were having better luck by side-loading a Samsung APK called "Gear Plugin" which I did. Then I restarted both, held my breath & VOILA! The Gear app on the phone finally paired & connected the watch within the app itself without crashing! (Happy days are here again) Hope this might give you something to work with to get yours hopefully connected & paired with your S7.

I have a oneplus 2 on cm13, root xposed, and I stuck on connecting. I installed the three recommend apps.
Someone can help me please?

Gear 2 connection problems with Galaxy Note 4

Hello, I had just bought my gear 2 today and after charging it fully I tried to follow the instructions and download the gear manager app on my galaxy note 4. It installed the latest version. I opened it and it immediately crashed. The only way I can open the app is to press the active apps button at the bottom of the phone and go to the app that way. Doing that it pairs and finds the watch just fine. I press on the gear to start "connecting" after it paired. It endlessly connects, with no error messages. I've updated the gear via kies. I've installed a previous version of gear manager. I've factory reset the gear. All to no avail. I've gotten around the startup wizard on the gear so I can use it but the time is wrong, and I can't use any of the actually useful functions that you need to pair with a phone to use. I called Samsung and talked to some Asian chick who told me to restart the phone and the watch. Obviously that didn't work and I had already tried it so I yelled at her and she created a report. Don't know what that will do for me then she referred me to a freakin best buy and said I quote "go to local best buy and have them look at it"
Seriously hoping if any of you can help me. I don't know what to do after this and I really wanna be able to see even a correct time on my watch. Thanks in advance for anything you can do to help.

Samsung Gear 2 not found

I recently got a samsung gear 2 smartwatch i booted it up and it told me to download "samsung gear" app i downloaded the app and i pressed "connect to gear" it did not find my gear 2 but i chould connect to it with bluetooth so is it my phone or the app? ( i noticed that the watch keeps disconecting from my bluetooth after 5-10 seconds ) and when i opened the app it did not give me a update and the app looks different then the app on my dads phone
uninstall and reinstall it. ive had to do that in the past. im running an android wear port now, so i cant test anything for ya, but that usually gets it working. The gear manager app installs itself and then when you launch it it downloads like 7 repositories to go along with it. It might have had its process interrupted and that would cause an issue

Same issue on note 4
Same issue on note 4. Cannot install apps or watchfaces
Same issue
I have a not 4 and I am having the same problem. I reset the watch and still no use. It seems to be an issue with Samsung that they don'the want to admit to.
Same issue with S7 Edge. Reset everything, but no change. No problems like this with iPhone and iWatch. This is the third issue I've had with the S3!!!
After months of successfully using the S3 with an LG, I wanted to try it with a Samsung phone. I was never able to get it working. I got a "service unavailable 1000" error and couldn't install apps. Factory resetting the watch and phone did not fix it. I ended up using a different Samsung phone, which installed without issue.
Download the apps from the watch it's work for me,I think there is some bug at samsung apps store.

[Q] unable to pair Gear 2 (Tizen) with S8+

Got my S8+ at launch, reset my Gear 2 running Tizen and quickly had it paired using both the Gear app and Samsung Health.
Everything was running just fine until a about a week ago when the pairing stopped. I decided to reset the Gear 2 and re-pair it to my S8+.
After several unsuccessful tries, here's what happens:
1. Reboot phone and wait for boot to complete.
2. Start the Gear app (v2.2.17022862) on the phone.
3. From the Gear app select "Connect new Gear."
4. Power on the Gear 2 and select "Next / Next"
5. Back to the app on the phone select "Gear 2 (XXXX)"
6. Get a Blue tooth pairing request on both devices and confirm on both of them.
7. The Gear 2 shows "Waiting for confirmation from Gear Manager" and the Gear app on the phone shows "Connecting to Gear..."
8. Minutes pass and nothing else happens.
IOW, the Bluetooth pairing is successful but the actual link between the devices never finishes.
Any idea what I might try next to get this working?
TIA,
RIch
Having similar issue. eventually got a connection failed. This worked originally then I did the OTA update (I have an unlocked S8+) and the Bluetooth started acting up.
One post said unpair everything and now I cant get the phone to reconnect. Eventually Bluetooth recognizes the Gear2 and the Gear Manager (as disconnected).... and the watch stays in that factory reset mode.
Not sure exactly how, but I got mine working. After unpairing the Bluetooth connection, I also cleared the cache and data on both the Samsung Gear app and the Samsung Health app then removed both apps from my S8+ rebooting many times along the way. After reinstalling the Gear app and the Health app I was able to eventually get the pairing to be successful.
Sorry I can offer better detailed guidance. I hope you get yours working again too.
Thanks... I tried clearing S-Health's\Samsung Connect cache, unpairing the watch, deleting Gear Manager, and restarting. That didn't work. I'll give it another try.
Just out of curiosity, have you disabled anything like Bixby or Svoice? I have both disabled... I tried reenabling them before but that didn't help.
Nope. While I don't use either, both Bixby and SVoice remain active. Sorry I can't help more.

Samsung gear app stuck on Update dialog and disconnect from my gear s3 frontier!

I have gear s3 frontier and I connect it to my galaxy s7 edge phone. It works great but for last 2 weeks when I open samsung gear app in my phone it show a dialog with this message:
Notice
A new version is available. Update the app to continue
Click to collapse
Screenshot: goo .gl/QV9LcZ
I can't ignore it and the only option I have is to press the Update button. After that it show a screen that say :
Preparing to connect ...
Click to collapse
screenshot: goo .gl/QFuD9h
When the progress bar complete, the app close automatically and disconnect the watch.
I checked "google play" and "Galaxy Apps" but there is no update available for "Samsung Gear" app. and currently I can't connect my watch to my phone.
The solution I tried to fix this problem:
I tried to uninstall Samsung Gear app and install it again with google play. It worked for few days but after that I have the above problem again
I use the option of "Connect to new phone" on my watch. It factory reset the watch and connected my watch to phone. But again after a few days I have the above problem.
How can I solve this problem. I seriously offended because both of my phone and watch was Samsung flagships but they can't connect to each other. If I can't solve this problem I will throw away my phone and watch and I will buy an iphone x with apple watch.
Similar issue here. I completed the update but the watch still shows this after multiple reboots and update checks:

For me it was updated and connect to my watch after a few days. I don't know what was the problem!
