[Completed] LG G5 - software imei is not registered and hardware imei is blocked - XDA Assist

LG G5 - software imei is not registered and hardware imei is blocked.
I bought a LG G5 from someone on Kijiji and it has been working fine. I noticed that whenever i try to look for a software update it says
"Your phone is not registered yet"
Upon further investigation i noticed that the IMEI that my phone's OS tells me doesnt exist on IMEI.info and the IMEI that is on the phone(I opened the phone to get that) is blacklisted. I basically got scammed i guess.
My phone is H831 canadian LG G5 with marshmallow. is there anyway i can fix this to get nougat?

Greetings and welcome to assist. I am sorry to here you got scammed, you could try flashing a custom rom for your device to get nougat from here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development
but I would be careful as you don't want to do anything that may restore the original imei
Good Luck

Please Help: Samsung GS7 Edge (No IMEI, flash of original ROM doesn't resolve)

Would like to know how I can restore my IMEI number onto my device. I did not have an EFS backup and what occurred was I tried unlocking the device with the wrong code and it froze. I then got the master control code (MKU) but this did not help. I was told by the Samsung repair center to plug my device in via USB so my computer would download the device drivers. I was then told to download ODIN as well as the original ROM which is the SM-G935W8 build FMC (FIDO) or XAC (All Canadian Carriers) and download this ROM onto the device. Doing so, it wiped out my IMEI and I am at wits end not knowing my options. The repair center said I have now voided my warranty despite being instructed to do the above and speaking to local repair shops, they said it's a known issue which Samsung will not support.
Seems as if my device is bricked. I have my original paperwork so know my IMEI and am curious if I can root my device and install software to allow me to reprogram the IMEI. Any experts who wish to chime in, I would appreciate any and all the help I can get. Thank you!

Not registered on network

HI,
I have been on MM for a while and wanted to upgrade my phone to the latest nogut firmware.
So I downloaded latest firmware from sammobile, then did a factory reset, and flashed the phone via odin.
Everything went great, except I can not call or use data.
It shows "Not registered on network."
Can anyone please help fix this?
For your information, the phone was sent to me from Vietnam by a relative.
I downloaded a firmware of my region, Bangladesh from sammobile.
But it is now showing INS as the CSC instead of BNG
Could this be a reason? Do I need to download firmware from Vietnam region instead?
I actually don't remember what was the csc code before upgrading.
Thanks for any kind of input.

Why would it be reported stolen after all this time?
moreover, My relative sent it with original box, charger cable headset etc with it.
I guess you can't steal a phone with all those accessories.
Anyway I still checked both of the IMEI's here.
http://www.imeipro.info/
both reported clean. Nor sure how authentic this site is though.
The problem appeared as soon as I upgraded the firmware.
If it was reported, then why was it working before?
sorry for the questions, I don't really know much about these.
If anyone else have this issue, I needed to take the phone to a repair shop, where they used octoplus v 2.5.7
A simple click on "network repair" fixed the issue.

Help for Bad IMEI

I bought an S7 recently with an IMEI blocked by T-Mobile.
Update: I have, successfully, flashed to G930U. This was done through Odin following this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...g930u-firmware-to-t-mobile-s7-t3533918/page1
Good news is that when I insert a different SIM card I now get access to a prompt asking for an unlock code. Maybe I can unlock it for Verizon, Sprint, etc?
Bad news is that I currently am on MintSIM which use T-Mobile networks. So it cannot be activated.
More information: I did ring up multiple times to T-Mobile and managed to get a difinitive answer that "Yes" it is still being financed, and therefore only the account holder can activate it.
I think my best option is to sell it making the bad IMEI number clear. Or to purchase a broken S7 in hopes of replacing the IMEI number physically.
Previously:
I want to switch firmware so I can unlock the IMEI without going through T-Mobile. Would it be possible to use Odin to flash Sprint firmware or Deoxed firmware?
I rooted the S7 and tried to install the Deoxed firmware through FlashFire but the S7 interrupted and restored it to default firmware. Which app files do I need to disable to stop this happening?

There is a guy that can change or unlook your IMEI, look in the forum you can find him. Change the rom or firmware does not change your IMEI.
hope it can help

I have changed the IMEI number to an old phone of mine. Which is legal AFAIK, but it still isn't letting the phone be unlocked by T-Mobile.

imei corrupted- no cell service

for some reason my phone stopped connecting to cell network. after much troubleshooting i saw that the IMEI in the phone was corrupted, changed to 350000000000006 from the original IMEI. all things i read about getting the original IMEI back requires me to root the phone. but it doesnt look like a root is available for my build version. any suggestions? sm-g920a build UCS5DPK1. thanks.

LG Bridge or LGUp safe with V500n

Have bought several "refurbished"LG phones from Aliexpress over the years and apart from a G3 have had no problems when flashing/updating firmware by ota, lgup or lg Bridge. At the moment have v500n20x firmware and if i check for updates in settings am told " using latest software version". Lg Bridge tells me v500n20z is available to update and I checked and there is a v500n20z kdz out there. So has anyone successfully updated these ways? Also would not having 20z firmware stop phone from ever updating to Android 11. Am sure years ago i updated G3 using LG Bridge and all seemed ok until i realized no mobile network coverage. Apparently seller must of modified/flashed modem that worked in my country and update put it back to stock. The V50 v500n all checks out in Aida64,CPUZ and imei checker as genuine but thinking of it now ,if i was going to update would LGUP(Uppercut?) be the the safer option baring in mind it's a "refurbished" Aliexpress LgV50

My Korean version LG V500N has already updated to android 11 just one week ago, my device is with "KT mobile" vendor but I'm using it with Telcel and Movistar providers in Mexico without problems, well except OTG connection, my device is unable to use OTG, no matter how many times I connect via OTG and select file transfer in USB mode it stops connection to reconnect after just a second again in power supply mode
