for some reason my phone stopped connecting to cell network. after much troubleshooting i saw that the IMEI in the phone was corrupted, changed to 350000000000006 from the original IMEI. all things i read about getting the original IMEI back requires me to root the phone. but it doesnt look like a root is available for my build version. any suggestions? sm-g920a build UCS5DPK1. thanks.

Hi! I have bought a used phone, I was told that it is SIM-blocked, so why there is no network of the local operator. I tried to unlock it and realized that No network because of generic IMEI 004999010640000. Under the battery imei and serial number erased, probably I bought stolen phone, now I do not know how to restore the original imei. And I try to find solution how to get network with generic imei. I live in Kazakhstan, even the service center can not help me. As I understand modem (radio module) check original imei with imei in EFS and if they are different, modem will not connect to the network operator? How to bypass checking imei and to use it with generic? I need patch like Ariza patch, but working with generic imei. In Kazakhstan it is legal.

Sorry about this, but I am going to close this thread. I know that you are probably smarting from buying a stolen phone, but providing you the IMEI patch may be illegal for the person who posts it and it will certainly be illegal for some of the people who will also be able to download any patch that is provided to you.
My phone is unlocked. Currently I use Tmobile. After I restore my phone from backup from crash, my phone get signal from Tmobile like on and off. When I check about phone, I see I have IMEI number, but on Baseband Version, it shows unknown. Can you please help me to fix this issue? Thanks you!!!
Ok, Ladies and Gentleman I need some deep thought processing here for some help with a Motorola Nexus 6. In brief here is what the problem is, a while back when flashing Pure Nexus rom, I experienced a loss of my IMEI. I can restore my IMEI but if and when I do, I lose any 4g and LTE connectivity. The phone functions in 3g with data and phone etc... just slow as molasses but if I restore my IMEI to the one that doesn't show up my IMEI correctly I get back LTE/4g and all works fine also. I've tried going all the way back to the original firmware which was saved to computer and restoring it. Same thing, I have IMEI but no LTE/4g. restore bad efs and get LTE/4g back. I've tried going through all the factory firmware's and flashing by ADB and or TWRP and nothing firmware wise will allow me to restore the IMEI and have LTE/4g signal. If I restore the bad efs and get OOOOOOOO for IMEI when using the *#06# on any firmware version, I regain LTE/4g functioning! I am using Pure Nexus 7.1 now and can still see the 00000000 as a IMEI, if I restore my efs and get IMEI back showing correctly, no LTE/4g signal! My phone can only function as it should as long as the IMEI doesn't show correctly! I have tried just flashing base bands and other segments of any rom and still the problem persist! I have even tried restoring an EFS from another nexus 6 and still no help. It's not the sims because I've tried AT&T sims and Verizon sims from other phones and it does the same thing! I've tried flashing with a sims in the phone and without. Any ideas??? It's like somehow a correlating segment of a file is not being recognized when the correct IMEI is present, like some thing some where in the efs, IMEI, and radio are not taking to each other so to speak, unless it shows the zero's! Brain waves come on and help me out here!

Greetings and welcome to assist. Have you tried asking in the pure nexus thread to see if anyone else has had this issue ? I have seen it before when flashing aosp/cm based roms but the fix is usually different each time

I have a Cricket branded galaxy s6 on the Cricket network and I was having some issues with the fingerprint reader which led to an eventual factory reset after trying many other things and of course I forgot to turn off reactivation lock beforehand. When booting back up I realized my Samsung account wouldn't sync up and I realized what I had done and after trying numerous things to fix that problem it led to me flashing the firmware for my phone and of course I didn't make a copy of the efs folder. So now my phone cannot connect to any network because the IMEI number is showing as unknown and so is the sim card status. So my question is... Is there anything I can do now to regain network connectivity?
If you are rooted you may restore nv_data.bak and nv_core.bak, that may get your IMEI back, if not, you can purchase a new and clean CERT file to get a new authentic IMEI back.
Would the phone have to have been rooted before deleting the IMEI number? I still have the original IMEI number written down as well
Hello there, I got a Pixel 3 from one of my friends recently, after some days i reset the phone and suddenly SIM stopped working, when i checked the IMEI no. of my phone it was "004001520220002" this. But my original IMEI before reset was 99001200********. Now i had no idea what just happened with the IMEI. that new IMEI is blacklisted & hence i cant use the network on this, so i tried to recover my IMEI by using root method. After messing around with my device for a couple of days, i was successfully able to root the device and install Xposed Framework in order to change the IMEI no. I have changed my IMEI no back to its original but network is still no where to be seen in my phone. *#06# will tell me the old good IMEI but i am still unable to get signals on my phone. What should i do now ????? I am not an expert with the ROMs or modifying the OS. PLZZ HELP ME GETTING MY PHONE SIGNALS BAKC PLZZZZZ
How did you able to recover your imei, i'm going through the same thing, please share your procedure bro.
