Please Help: Samsung GS7 Edge (No IMEI, flash of original ROM doesn't resolve) - General Questions and Answers

Would like to know how I can restore my IMEI number onto my device. I did not have an EFS backup and what occurred was I tried unlocking the device with the wrong code and it froze. I then got the master control code (MKU) but this did not help. I was told by the Samsung repair center to plug my device in via USB so my computer would download the device drivers. I was then told to download ODIN as well as the original ROM which is the SM-G935W8 build FMC (FIDO) or XAC (All Canadian Carriers) and download this ROM onto the device. Doing so, it wiped out my IMEI and I am at wits end not knowing my options. The repair center said I have now voided my warranty despite being instructed to do the above and speaking to local repair shops, they said it's a known issue which Samsung will not support.
Seems as if my device is bricked. I have my original paperwork so know my IMEI and am curious if I can root my device and install software to allow me to reprogram the IMEI. Any experts who wish to chime in, I would appreciate any and all the help I can get. Thank you!

Galaxy S6 35000006 IMEI problem after unlocking.

Hello
I unlocked my device via USB with srsunlock.nl
I rooted my phone prior to this as instructed in email sent to me.
It seems to have successfully unlocked my phone, however I am now unable to connect to any network carrier whatsoever due to my phone now displaying an IMEI of 35000006 which I am guessing is a null/fake IMEI? I have no backup efs files, no backup nv.data bin files. I have tried to root the phone again and reinstall a stock rom via odin but has made no difference, still having the same issue. Knox warranty is also void now (says so when putting phone in to download mode).
Model is Galaxy s6 G920F. The carrier it was originally locked to is EE (UK).
Is there ANY way to fix this problem or am I completely screwed? Please help!

Phone Missing Baseband and IMEI

I need some help with my S6 - My Phone is stock, I have taken all the updates from Verzion - I have not tired to root this phone or load any ROMS to it.
I use the phone for works so it was loaded with all the airwatch stuff that does not like Root / Custom rom.
the Phone was working at lunch with no issues. I was leaving work and I was unable to to the internet and had no signal - so I rebooted the phone. after I rebooted it, it would be on for like a minute then reboot and keep doing it - So I did a factory reset on the phone. After the factory reset it would not register to Verizon. I checked about phone and every was unknown. Called verizon and the said that was bad- then told me since it was over a year old to go to best buy ( where i got it to see if they could help ). they were no help. I called Samsung to see if i could send it in for repair. They suspended all out of warranty repairs for some reason. so now i have a phone that i cant use as a phone.
I have loaded the phone with the latest firmware with ODIN and did not change anything.
Verizon gave me a new SIM card - that did not work.
the Samsung Desk at best buy could not do anything - they were trying to reflash the factory rom but they had a problem and told me the phone has been rooted.
the knox is not tripped - I have not tired to do anything to this phone.
is there anything that I can try to do to get this phone working again - or send it some where.
it is out of warranty - they will not fix it .
I don't have a backup of the EFS folder which i guess is what is wrong with it.

In the USA, service centers are set by your carrier; e.g., AT&T owners would go to a Best Buy in my area. When I had a similar problem with my g930f, all Best Buy could do was tell me to get myself a replacement. I don't believe they have the tools for this kind of repair.
I also went to a local phone repair type shop. They had no idea how to help me. I ended up going through XDA and finding the way to fix it myself. That was, to acquire the factory binary and flash that via Odin, then get the latest version of software from sammobile, and flash that via Odin. I found the guide here and followed it to fix my phone:

[Fixed] My SM-G955U Has No IMEI or Baseband

EDIT:
I was able to fix it! I had to install a custom ROM to obtain root and delete my EFS partition.
So, here is a bit of a story I will try to keep short.
I went to Vietnam and bought a S8+ from there.
It was a US S8+ from Sprint.
I used it fine there but when I came back to states I tried to put my Verizon sim in and it doesn't work.
I don't get any signal. But I am able to see Baseband and IMEI.
So, I tried to use Odin and flash one of the SM-G955U1 Firmware.
Now, my phone is weird and out with no Baseband or IMEI.
So I try to flash back to firmware it was on.
Same thing.
Any ideas why my S8+ is like this?

Can you get into recovery/download mode now? What was the last known version of software you know that was on your phone?
If you can get into recovery, what info are in those details?

What happens if you restore from the OEM function?
Try downloading custom recovery and flashing a custom rom. You will lose samsung pay but you might have a working phone it's a chance I would take if it was me. Your baseband is messed up try just flashing your carrier baseband . These are just ideas good luck
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
If flashing a custom ROM will fix your phone then so will downloading latest official Samsung ROM and flashing via latest Odin .
The second option above would be the best to try unless you're happy to have a custom rom and lose Samsung pay and anything that relies on Knox being functional

Update on the post, I sent it into Samsung. I should hear word soon if they can fix it and how much if anything.
Jtag dead phone to life and rewrite IMEI
First of all my phone is the s8+ G955fd, but I am sure that the people that helped me can help most Samsung owners with bricked phones.
My phone ended up being stuck on the first boot screen, I couldn't get into recovery or download mode. I installed TWRP and after that I lost my IMEI numbers( dual sim), so I tried to reflash stock and thats when i became bricked. I searched someone to help and found reference to the Fonefunshop in England. I sent it there and they said that the eMMC chip was bad. I searched for someone who could write to it or put a new one on the motherboard . I found A2Z cellular in Ottawa Canada. They used jtag to restore it to stock and they told me that the Fonefunshop had not opened the phone which is necessary to use jtag as they claimed, so avoid them.
The phone was now back doing everything it should except the IMEI's were null like before. I gave them the original IMEI's and the phone is working like new.
If your Samsung is bricked these guys can probably fix it and it won't cost much to find out.
the SM-G955U has a locked bootloader, so people should not be telling you to flash a custom recovery or custom ROMs. there is only one way to get root on this phone, through the samfail exploit, and safestrap is the only working recovery. I don't believe it supports CDMA networks but I'm not 100% sure on that. I have this device and I'm only aware of GSM carriers using it.
Just an update on this issue. I still don't have a working Baseband or IMEI. Any clues?
I was able to fix it! I had to install a custom ROM to obtain root and delete my EFS partition via ADB.

Be very careful with doing that. It can cause the EFS (the partition that controls IMEI, Mac and a few other things) to be completely corrupted. Which will cause the device to be useless without fixing it.
Now a little heads up. As messing with the IMEI is illegal in many countries (the US being one of them) There are only 2 ways to fix an IMEI issue allowed on XDA.
1. Restore the backed up EFS partition
2. Return it to the OEM to be repaired.
What did you do after you deleted EFS? I can delete in Combination but I dont get the IMEI number back.
Please I need all XDA members assist ,because of I mistake delete EFS with combination file on my G955U VZW , I have null imei number, then I repair it by flash qcn with z3x Samsung tool , but still I have IMEI number but emergency call only is still display without service ,

Note 9 (SM-N960F Exynos) incorrect IMEI

Disclaimer: So its not a stolen phone, prior owner was just being nasty. I bought the phone from a 2nd hand shop (Cash Crusaders, Kathu, South Africa), where they told me that a lady sold the phone to them, came back after 3 months and wanted to buy it back for the same price (they guarantee buybacks for 1 month), they refused to sell it back to her at selling price, so she went and had the phone blocked. They went through the process of unbricking it through the ISPs, but in the meantime also got repair shops to try and fix it... They changed the IMEI number... So I bought the phone, fully functional, did a factory reset, saw that it had OEM unlocked and figured it was the cause for the biometrics not working, turned that on and thats where my mission started. OEM locked, custom firmware detected... Used Odin to flash on stock firmware (from Frija), got the phone functional, but emergency calls only and no cellular. I have tried rooting and using console, I have tried changing it in the EFS file, I have tried changing it via ADB Fastboot, via dialer (does nothing even with Google Dialer Framework V5)) no dice, it keeps the incorrect IMEI. I have looked up the IMEI on IMEI.info and its clean, so I take it they managed to get it unblacklisted, which is why I want to get the original IMEI back.
What I would like help with is does anyone know how exactly I can change the IMEI number on my phone (Rooted with Magisk and TWRP, but eXposed framework is finnicky and doesnt register properly, even through I installed the RIRU (V23) and RIRU EdXposed (Canary, both Sandhook and YAHFA on seperate occasions) packages via Magisk (V21.1 and V8.0.3 for manager) as per instructions.
P.S. I am a student on a tight budget, so I would prefer to do it on the cheap/free and I live in Namibia, so sending it to Samsung isnt quite an option.
Also please let me know if there is any info, logs, etc. I can attach that might help.

I have my receipt and they have theirs. So by all means verify the IMEI yourself 356630093456642.

Thing is phone got cleared. Original IMEI is clean, which is why I wanna reset it back to it, only problem is they seem to have used a flash-kit to change it in the recovery partitions too (bricked the damn thing when I recovered it (accidentally turned OEM lock on...), I've tried everything down to loading the engineering combination file (interesting though, its android 8.1, which shouldn't actually be possible to do from Android 10) on it and trying through there, no dice. Also asked local repair shops if any of them have a flash kit, none have 1... So I'm stuck at this point, cant even do the normal 'pay a repair shop to fix it for you' method.
