[Resolved] How to instal Stock rom LEeco Le Max X820 - General Questions and Answers

Hello everyone,
I bought the leeco le max 2 via geekbuying last week and got some issues with wifi and mms (among other issues), and i would like to instal an indian stock rom.
I will try to be as clear as possible and give you as much info as i have, but since i don't really master the subject it will be a bit messy i gess.
On the box it is said that the phone is a X822, but when i go in the options, it says it is a X822, so i don't know wich one it is. It has 32g and 4gb of ram (http://www.geekbuying.com/item/LeTV-LeEco-Le-Max-2-X820-4GB-32GB-Smartphone---Rose-Gold-374437.html). It has eUI 5.8.018S installed on it.
I downloaded 2 indian roms the 16s and 19s (https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/how-to/le-max-2-official-stock-firmware-links-t3433761), but what is the difference ? Also i found some recoveries but what is this for ?
Yesterday i installed a stock rom on my redmi note 3 pro via adb (http://en.miui.com/thread-235865-1-1.html) and it was very easy.
I cannot find such a tutorial for the X820, i could need some help.
I tried to install with this method : https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/help/how-to-stock-rom-recovery-t3419377
1) Download the Indian Le Max 2 ROM from here. Download fastboot and adb and install to your PC from here
2) Keep the firmware zip file in the fastboot, adb folder of your PC. In that folder, press Shift + Right click and click on "Open command window here".
3) Boot into TWRP recovery of your phone. (Power + Vol Up) button together at boot. Perform full wipe so that there is no OS installed.
4) Enter Adb sideload
5) On PC's command prompt window which we opened earlier, enter these commands adb sideload LE_X2_X820-OS-OP-FGXOSOP5801507066S-5.8.015S.zip
6) Wait for stock firmware and recovery to be installed. Takes a long time. You can again factory reset if you want to but I did not need to do it.
7) Phone should be stock now with google app store and least bloat in Indian ROM.
But i get stuck because the adb "cannot read" the zip file. The adb find the device and the X820 go into EDL mode easily.
I also tried this : http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/20/leeco-x820-max-2-super-unbrick-guide/. But it also didn't work. It says "manifest.xml not found in flash".
Then i tried to rename the rom "update.zip", copy it in the phone internal storage and go into recovery (power up + power button) but it doesn't find any file. "failed to uptade!" cause : APK not found.
I don't really know what to do next, i'm a bit lost.
Could you help me installing a official rom so that it fixes my wifi/network/mms issue please ?
Thank you in advance, if you need any other information or have advice i would be really happy
Sweet-death

Huawei Ideos U8150 Recovery Guide

Many people seem to be having a lot of trouble flashing recoveries for their Ideos so I figured I would write this thread because I haven't found any other guides for flashing U8150 recoveries.
Method 1
1. Install Terminal Emulator from the market.
2. Install Root Explorer from the market.
3. Download the recovery of your choice and copy the recovery.img to your sd card. (if its not named recovery.img rename it)
4. With Root Explorer, navigate to where the recovery is and copy it to /system/bin/ (remember to select mount as R/W first in order for it to copy.)
5. Open Terminal Emulator and enter the command "su" (without the quotes)
6. After that enter the command "flash_image recovery /system/bin/recovery.img" (again without the quotes)
7. That's it, the recovery has been flashed. Reboot in recovery to confirm.
8. Once you've confirmed the recovery flashed properly remember to delete the recovery.img from /system/bin/ (using root explorer, and mount as R/W)
Method 2
I find this method much easier because you don't have to go through the trouble of installing drivers. Also you don't need to connect your device to your PC. Your device needs to be rooted though. If your device isn't rooted simply download z4root from the market and root it.
1. Download and install ROM Manager from the market.
(If you simply want to flash the latest working ClockworkMod Recovery and not an older version or UltraJack skip to step 6.)
2. Navigate to the folder /clockworkmod/download/mirror.sea.tdrevolution.net/cm/recoveries/ (create the folders if they are not already there)
3. Delete any files in that folder.
4. Download the recovery you want to use from the recovery links below. Unzip the file. Rename the "recovery.img" file to "recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-ideos.img". (See note below)
5. Copy the renamed "recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-ideos.img" into the recoveries folder (/clockworkmod/download/mirror.sea.tdrevolution.net/cm/recoveries/)
6. Open ROM Manager and select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery. It will bring up a list of devices, just scroll down until you find Huawei U8150 Ideos and select it.
7. ROM Manager will flash the recovery image for you and you're done.
Now you have a working recovery. To test select Reboot into Recovery from ROM Manager.
Since you are renaming the recoveries remember to keep track of which recovery is currently in the recoveries folder.
Note: recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-ideos.img is the name of the latest ClockworkMod Recovery in rom manager at this time (28/04/2011). If it is updated and I haven't updated the thread, change the name of the recovery to the latest version.(i.e if the latest recovery is ClockworkMod 3.0.2.5, rename the img to recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.5-ideos.img instead of recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-ideos.img)
Method 3
Installing Drivers
Windows 7:
Download and install PDANet. That should install the drivers for you.
Alternatively, you could download the drivers and install them manually. First download the drivers for your OS from here.
Drivers Windows 32-Bit Mediafire Multiupload
Drivers Windows 64-Bit Mediafire Multiupload
Connect your device(you don't need to turn on USB storage) then open device manager. Right click on your device and select properties, select the hardware tab and then select properties. Select the drivers tab, then select Reinstall/Update Driver. Choose the option (Browse my computer for driver software) and select the drivers you just downloaded. (Extract the zip file first)
MacOS
Download and install PDANet. That should install the drivers for you.
Linux
Follow this guide by bloodychaos to get ADB working.
Flashing Recovery
1. Once you have the drivers installed download the recovery of your choice from the links below.
2. Extract the zip file and open the folder.
3. Turn off your phone.
4. Connect your phone to your PC.
5. Reboot your phone in bootloader mode. (Turn it on while holding the Volume Down button and the End(Red) Key.)
6. Run the install-recovery file/script for your OS found in the extracted recovery folder.
7. Once it flashes your phone should reboot.
N/B If you have trouble with the drivers or any other problems try Method 1.
Now you have a working recovery. To test turn off your phone, then turn it on while holding the Volume Up Key and the Green(Call) Key.

For some reason the ideos does not appear on the list, I have no idea why, you might have to try one of the other methods to flash a recovery.

Thanx for the quick reply, i ended up using method 3.
Just one thing about method 3, the batch file doesn't exist in the ClockworkMod 3.0.2.4 (by marcnvidic) link as it's only an .img file. So i simply downloaded the ClockworkMod 3.0.1.(by udK) zip file, and replaced the image with the newer 3.0.2.4 after unzipping it.
Thank you for the guide, i've successfully flashed clockworkmod, and backed up the phone. now all i have to do is choose a ROM.
which ROM do u suggest???
cheers,
Simon

That was the official link from marcnvidic, the multipuload & mediafire mirrors should have the batch files. Anyway, for the rom I would suggest FUSIONideos or Dronix 0.4, there's a poll somewhere on this forum and those are the most popular, Gingerman V4 is also pretty good but I wouldn't suggest it as your first rom because its still relatively new and is still being improved so it isn't perfect as a daily use rom yet. I switch btw fusion & gingerman, but I can tell you fusion is pretty stable. One thing to note however, if you are not using gingerman or another cyanogenmod port, I would suggest using clockworkmod by udK as your recovery, cwm 3.0.2.4 has some issues making backups of other roms.
Mate, I'm loving this
So far i've flashed CM6.1 port, Fusion, and Dronix 0.4! hehe i'm addicted now! Right now i'm back to CM6.1, but will try Gingerman V4 soon
Thanx for your help mate, you're a champion.
EDIT: thought i'd explain why i'm on CM6.1. Reason being is that I even though i think Fusion is the better one so far, I can't seem to have a solid 3G connection.
I'm from Sydney Australia, and with Optus. The APN seems to be correct and all, but the phone keeps switching from 3G to H.
tq for this information...i have done it
thanks !!!!!
I'm having a bit of trouble.
I was trying method 2 and clicked the wrong phone model. I went to change it but found that "Huawei IDEOS U8150" is not listed. Now I cannot access my recovery menu, and cannot install clockwork recovery. How would I fix this? I've been searching for hours and only found ways to remove it via the recovery menu.
Everything is functioning fine so it's not a big problem, I just can't get to the recovery menu/boot loader.
Also, I attempted method 1 because it doesn't involve the use of the recovery menu. It says, "flash_image: not found" when I type the command.
Nevermind, put about another hour into searching. Thank you so much for this guide it helped me alot.
I installed ROM Manager and pressed "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery".
It downloaded some files and flashed the Mod.
(I have my u8150 rooted using SuperOneClick)
Now it shows that my ClockworkMod Recovery version is 3.0.2.4
BUT the problem is that:
1>If I press reboot into recovery, the phone reboots and I end up staring at the IDEOS logo for ... like ever.
2>I pressed Backup Current ROM and after giving it a name (Stock ROM), I pressed OK and again the same result.
3> I found on the internet that to go into the recovery mode I need to press the SEND (green button) and the Volume UP together and then press Power.
I did it, even held the three buttons in the next try... but sadly every time the phone got stuck and I ended up looking at the IDEOS logo.
and the only way to get the phone working again was to take out the battery and press Power. (the phone itself is running fine)
PLz kindly help me out on this.. am I missing something??
Thnx
That means the recovery didn't flash correctly. Are u sure u selected the right phone from the rom manager list. Try flash recovery again. But first u need to delete everything in the clockworkmod/download directory on the sd card. Or if you know how to, just delete the recovery image in that folder.
yes I selected the corret phone i.e. Huawei u8150 Ideos
i deleted everything in the clockworkmod/download directory on the sd card
re-flashed..
still the same problem
btw.. during flashing, twice I got a pop-up asking me to either "force close" or "wait" and I pressed "wait" both times.
P.S. I just noticed after removing the battery that it says the model of my phone is U8150-D. I wonder what the "D" stands for?
It shuld not be force closing. Maybe rom manager has a problem. Try reinstalling it. If that doesn't work I suggest trying one of the other methods to flash the recovery.
ok so ive just tried Method 1 and followed every step... and the funny thing is that when I enter the following command in terminal emulator:
flash_image recovery /system/bin/recovery.img
.. it says
flash_image: not found
lol
now im downloading ultrajack
Update:
Ive tried Method 3:
and for 10 minutes now.. my command prompt is still showing this message:
< waiting for device >
:-(
For method 3 try running the bat file first then when it shows you the waiting for device message turn on the phone in bootloader mode.
just did as you said, i turned off the phone.. ran the bat file, when it said waiting for device I plugged in the phone (battery charging started), then I pressed power while holding Red and Volume Down...
the result is the same..
(the same was the result when running ultrajack)
>im just wondering... do I need to install any kernel or something before doing this??
>also I noticed that the CWM's recovery.img that I got from this forum is 3.94MB, while the one I downloaded through the Rom Manager was 3.71MB (on both tries).
P.S. how do I completely remove CWM and its files? so i can start the process fresh. I read at some forum that there is some file related to this called update.zip... whats that?
(Sorry for being a bother and thnx for your help)
UPDATE !!!
Its done... its finally done. Yattaaaaa!!!
ok so here is is what I did....
>I deleted everything in the clockworkmod folder like you once mentioned before.
>You said that while flashing I shouldn't be getting a pop-up that asks me to either force close or wait.
>So I had a hunch that the popup that appeared during the flashing might have been caused due to the screen timeout set at 30 sec (i mean a clash of two processes)
>So, i set the screen timeout to 30 minutes (hehe) and pressed Flash ClockworkMod Recovery from the Rom Manager.
>It flashed without any pop-ups and it successfully booted into recovery mode (and the first thing I did was to backup my phone)
Once again thnx for your support wachw.
... and if you don't mind can you help me with one more thing (if it's convenient for you)... plz guide me how to install multitouch for my phone provided here (coz nobody at that thread has been generous enough to guide me ;_; )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014183
[i have downloaded the multitouch patch and the complied kernel, plz guide me on what to do next. thnx ]
Sorry about the delay, been busy, but, if you send me the link to your provider's rom I can make a multitouch version for you. Why don't you want to install a custom rom?
here is the link to my provider's rom:
http://webftp.myppc.it/index.php?dir=Ideos/ROM/
direct link
http://webftp.myppc.it/index.php?dir=Ideos/ROM/&file=U8150 V100R001C230B828SP02(Pakistan Ufone ).rar
custom rom, hmm.. well ive heard about them but for now i want to see how much can the stock rom be modified xD
btw is it really possible to edit the rom and remove the simlock
someone here says so:

[Root] lenovo k4 note running on marshmallow (6.0) official rom

This procedure has been tested on LENOVO K4 NOTE MARSHMALLOW (S219) and it worked perfectly fine.
i posted this thread since the previous procedures only covers rooting prior to S218.
verified working on s219

take note that the next step will definitely hard reset your device.
step 3:

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU WON'T TURN ON THE DEVICE UNLESS THE NEXT STEPS ARE DONE. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TURNED ON YOUR DEVICE REPEAT TO STEP 1.
c. press and hold vol up+vol down+ powerbutton simultaneously for few seconds, once you felt a vibration, release power button whilst still holding the vol up and down button
it will show the lenovo screen then go black. (don't worry it means you successfully flashed recovery.img)
d. connect the device to your computer
if lenovo shows on your device, now is the time to recopy aroma file manager and supersu. if not just wait for the screen to turn back on.
e. once twrp recovery is on, go to mount and check SYSTEM. (do not touch anything aside what i unstructed)
d. go back to previous menu and go to install
install aroma file manager and wait for it to finish
f. once installed it will go directly to aroma file manager, go to system folder and scroll down. look for recovery-from-boot.p and delet it
g. once deleted exit aroma file manager (button can be found on right corner)
h. go back and install beta supersu which you copied. (browse sd card)
i. once flashed, reboot system,
step 7:
a. if you made it this far, then you are almost done.
b. just finish the lenovo start up.
c. once done, connect your device again on your computer and copy xposed apk and xposed arm to internal or sdcard
d. install xposed apk
e. turn off your device
step8:
a. reboot to recovery (press vol up and down and power button simultaneously, once you felt a vibration release power button whilst holding vol up and down button. lenovo screen will show and it will eventually go to twrp recovery)
b. click install and install xposed arm
c. onced install. reboot system.
THERE YOU GO... YOU ARE DONE. YOU CAN VERIFY ROOT BY DOWNLOADING ROOT CHECKER FROM GOOGLE PLAY STORE.
WELL I WAS FORCED TO ROOT MY K4 NOTE JUST TO PLAY POKEMON GO.
I WILL UPLOAD SCREEN SHOT ONCE I ALREADY COMPILED THEM. THANK YOU
IF YOU LIKE AND HELPED YOU A LOT PLEASE HIT THANKS AND LEAVE A MSG.
IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, JUST COMMENT IT HERE.
Thanks it worked. I was about to complain when twrp recovery does not show up. BUT IT WORKED THANKS
xposed isn't necessary to root the phone. Am I right? Maybe you should explain that in the OP. You'll get people confused down the road if they don't already know what they're flashing.

Will it work on s219?
I just badly wanna root amd this is the easiest way i found..
Thanks:cyclops:
And yes,one more question,
During unlocking the bootloader, will it only format my phone or both phone and sd card?

hi
will it erase internal phone memory (i mean after flushing ROM can i get my data using any recovery software)
i am also using same s219 Rom model lenovo k4 note phone.
Actually i deleted some files unexpectedly from internal memory but i want them back, so i tried many ways but no software is identifying internal memory as a drive. I tried to root using root apps but marshmallow not allowing.
i found this topic, but i have only doubt is after flushing the rom can i recover my data using any recovery software?
Thanks in advance
thank you so much!
now to answer some queries and give thanks...
@Duffy144: glad you like it.
@Bdwilk: thank you for the input, i will do that.
@infected_162k: i haven't tried yet since i haven't been able to check latest OTA, but i will try it now since s218 causes lag and memory leak when using facebook messenger. and as you've said. thanks for the confirmation for s219, at least i am more confident. btw, does this really solve the memory leak of the s218?
@anvesh.k yes it will delete all files as the procedure requires you to factory reset your handset.
Rooted K4 Marshmallow
Damn. Finally. I got root. Can finally get rid of that Cell Broadcast. Thanks Sir ansei. The unlocking of bootloader, flashing of twrp and supersu process is pretty much straight forward and will only take you about less than 10 minutes.
Am not sure if this is a systemless root i have. If so, it's great. I am on S_219. Zero performance or stability issues.
I feel my K4 Note runs smoother and snappier compared to S150 row. Still getting the hang of the revamped user interface though.
Overall, Marshmallow 6.0 S_219 runs great with unlocked bootloader, twrp and supersu.
Can someone confirm if this works with 2 gb / 32 variant?

Amm, about that memory leak thing, i basically know what that is cause it was a huge problem in my father's phone(gionee m3). But i exactly don't know how to know if it's still there or not as I use messenger hardly 2-3 times a week. guide me about this so I can tell you exactly.
Another thing that will help other users: I have to factory reset my phone due to a google error ( unable to communicate with Google server). I was not sure about root and xposed will be gone or not. But here is the result : lost both, root and xposed. Just flashed both again, super su and xposed framwork, worked

Old data? Not sure what you are referring to. After the unlocking of bootloader, flashing or twrp and root, restarted the phone in normal mode. Went through the setup wizard and all. Reinstalled my usual stuff. Back to where I left in Lollipop. Zero issues with Marshmallow 6.0 S_219.
Sir Ansei, everything is fine except 1 minor issue, when rebooting to TWRP, I often get the black screen. Power cycling the phone works. Any ideas?

May be what he trying to tell is he accidentally deleted some of his important stuff and now he wants to get it back with the apps that use root to dig around. But as per my experience, it only work if that portion of sd card of internal storage is stayed untouched not if overwritten by something else. But if you already rooted, just give it a try...maybe you'll be lucky...

Thanks for understanding my problem
call fastboot.exe flash recovery recovery/recovery.by.gursewak.img - needs to be edited? make sure path is correct and image name.
call fastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
Just put recovery.img in the same folder
I cannot get fastboot to recognize my device & perform the bootloader unlock. Whenever I type in " adb reboot bootloader" or click on that "unlock_recovery.bat" file, I get booted into a dark screen where "fastboot" is written at the bottom & the command prompt window says < waiting for device> & I am stuck there until I reboot my phone.
Please tell how to get past this!

[Guide] Install Custom Recovery for Blu Advance 5.0 D030UX

Before we start this post, I just wanted to say that I am new here (like today new) and XDA does not have this device listed in their website at all so I did not know where else to post this rather than the General Discussion, I do apologize for this annoyance and please forgive me. One last thing, I am not the developer of this, I am only the poster person........guy...... ;-; ....... the person who developed this custom recovery is @lopestom!! Please give him the credit he derserves, not me!! With this being said, let us move onto the post now!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE NOR IS THE DEVELOPER FOR ANY DAMAGE YOU CAUSE TO YOUR DEVICE!!*
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Greetings XDA Community and Blu Users!
Today I am Sharing this Custom Recovery that was made by @lopestom for the Blu Advance 5.0
Now before we get into this you will need to do the following first for the recovery to install.
You will need to install the MTK VCOM Drivers and the SP Flash Tool.
-How to install MTK VCOM Drivers for Windows 8: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693906
-How to install MTK VCOM Drivers for Windows 10 64-bit/32-bit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-m2/help/windows-10-mtk-vcom-usb-drivers-32-64-t3267033
-Installation for SP Flash Tool: https://androidmtk.com/smart-phone-flash-tool
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now once you get this done, you will want to install the custom recovery files for which I am providing to you Blu Advance 5.0 Users from [B @lopestom[/B]. (download link at the very bottom)
Once you install the zip, follow these simple steps and you will have the recovery installed in no time!
1. Download zip file and then unzip to then where you will see two files: *recovery img and scatter file*
2. Open SPFT, and load the scatter file from that folder unzipped
3. Click the Download Tab, and edit the settings as follows:
A. Make sure 'Download Only' is selected
B. Only Recovery Partition box is checked
C. Make sure correct scatter is loaded
4. Double click in 'Location' field next to recovery partition and select recovery.img
5. Click "Download" Button
6. Power off phone
7. With "Download" button clicked in SPFT, connect phone to USB without powering on (VCOM DRIVERS MUST BE INSTALLED FOR THIS TO WORK)
8. Wait for SPFT to flash, popup with green check-mark will display when complete
9. Disconnect phone from USB, hold power + volume-up keys until boot into TWRP Recovery
10. Done!
11. You have successfully installed this custom recovery for your Blu Advance 5.0!!
As a perk, you can now root your device if you have not already with Super Su: https://download.chainfire.eu/964/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328.zip?retrieve_file=1

When is TWRP installed?
Sorry, as a noob, I have no idea at what point TWRP needs to be installed, if at all. Andvance 5.0 isn't on the list in the official TWRP app, so installling that from Google Play Store doesn't help. Do I get blutwrp.img -and how do I install it? Do I flash twrp, too, or install it another way ? Should twrp come up automatically here? I'm totally confused with this guide.

This post looks pretty new. So I thought I'd drop by just in case you never figured out how to install TWRP. At the bottom of the guide there is this:

That download URL is TWRP. If I were to guess, the download is an unofficial port of TWRP. Since TWRP doesn't have an official build for BLU Advance 5.0, you have to use the file provided by OP (I am not aware of any other unofficial ports of TWRP specifically for BLU Advance 5.0).
It has been a while since I rooted the BLU Advance 5.0 for my friend, but I believe it is not possible to directly flash a custom recovery onto the device. That's why you need to install SPFT which was also generously provided by OP:

However, in order to use that tool, you must make sure you have the right drivers so your phone and computer can communicate:

After you have installed the proper drivers for your computer and SPFT, you are all set to follow the steps OP provided. Any instance where it says "zip file" he is referring to the zip file you should have downloaded from androidfilehost.com (first link I quoted from OP).
As long as you know that, here are the steps 1 - 11 you should follow:

I may be misreading this sentence, but incase I am not, I'll explain. The primary reason people install a custom recovery is so they can root their phones. In the case of BLU Advance 5.0, that phone only has an internal storage of 4GB, which I have recently learned is apparently taken up entirely by Messenger itself (if you download Facebook Messenger). What's the point of having a smartphone if you can't install apps on it? There is an app called Link2SD which can trick the phone into believing the external SD card space is internal (more or less). Link2SD needs root though.
After installing TWRP, now is when you can flash things the way I imagine you're moderately familiar with from your comment. The only thing you should need to flash via this method should be SuperSU, to give you the root privilege necessary for Link2SD. OP has also provided this:

If you followed all the steps properly, you should be able to power down your device, and boot into TWRP by holding the Power and Volume Up buttons until you see the white BLU boot screen. From there, you can flash SuperSU.
Hope this helped clear some things up for you!

While this helps, I've been doing this for months now... And now I am faced with the problem of the new OTA they just gave me, which blocks any and all root access that I had before. Now my problem is figuring out if I need to re-flash the previous version to my firmware or unlock the bootloader and just install a custom ROM, given that a universal ROM is compatible.
A way to unbrick?
So, I have one and bricked it when flashing a recovery I found when I searched blue advance 5.0 custom recovery on google
when I searched, I used the one I found at the blueroms dot info site
it is now in a boot loop, and I can't access anything except the menu between booting factory mode and recovery
is there a way I can fix it, and flash this?
Thanks!
Thanks for not only the instructions, but for accepting the possibility that I may have figured it out myself.
As a regular linux user, I'm not sure why the xda comunity depends on: SP Flash Tool, MTK VCOM Drivers for Windows and MTK VCOM Drivers for Windows 10 64-bit/32-bit. Especially at this point shouldn't there be some tools from Chrome OS? if not Linux itself? Sorry that's kind of off point, but your help is indeed appreciated.
Trying to Root
Hello everyone, I have been desperately trying to root a Blu Advance 5.0 HD that i just got. It runs Android Version 6.0 Kernal 3.18.19 Custom build BLU_A050U_V04_GENERIC 19-09-2016\
So The farthest i got was clicking download and plugging in the phone. It gives me an error and suggests i Format+download. Doing that semi bricks my phone and i have to flash a oem firmware. I even tried using the oem files and just replacing the recovery which did the trick in making it run, but did not install twrp. What am i doing wrong, Id rather not return the phone but i may if i cannot root it.
Thanks anyone who can assist me!
Nothing happened
Greetings,
I was able to install drivers on the PC and flash the recovery through SPFT and directly from fastboot but it didn't work. Although both methods gave me OK, when I boot into recovery I still get the stock recovery 3e version of the BLU. So, is there something that I'm missing?

[Resolved] Trouble shoot for Xolo Era X and 4G Twrp installation.

Hello Everyone -
Welcome back , In previous post i explained " How to install twrp and root Xolo Era X,4G" but i forgot to mention some things which resulted errors for many users making it non-beneficial , I mean wasted time , data , or may be the android rom. Thanks for describing problems in previous post. Now it's mine turn to return you something original , something good .Search your question answers here and problems.
Please note that this thread is only for Xolo era X , 4G marshmallow 6.0 version only , 5.1 is not supported .Sorry but update to 6.0.
1. `adb` is not recognized as an internal or external command
Ans - If you are facing this error then probably you are not in the folder where adb and fastboot tools are installed .
You have to open command prompt only where adb tools, drivers are installed.Still not solving then google it.
2. adb devices = blank (nothing is shown)
Ans - I think you have either not connected your smartphone with usb debugging on or you have not installed proper version of adb and fastboot drivers. Please google for different versions of adb and fastboot.
3. fastboot devices = blank (nothing is shown)
Ans - Same as in above answer.
4. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img = <waiting for device>
Ans - It means that you have not installed fastboot drivers properly or you have not connected your devices in fastboot mode.
5. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img = no such file found or recovery.img not found.
Ans - You have not copied or moved recovery.img(twrp or cwm image file) in the folder where adb and fastboot are installed .So put the recovery.img (it can be twrp.img or somename.img) in the adb and fastboot tools folder(it can be either found in local drive C or at any custom location) .
6. Recovery Installed successfully but still booting in stock recovery or Computer shows installation successful but still opens stock recovery.
Ans - This is a great problem for many users and it is happening due to security policies of android 6.0. To fix it Do as following-
(1) Install twrp recovery and when it say success plug your battery out .
(2)Put battery back and open smartphone in recovery mode by holding VOL Up + Power Button for 15 seconds.
(3)Now your smartphone will boot in TWRP recovery but your twrp recovery is still temporary .
(4)Install SuperSu.zip by twrp recovery and this zip file will patch boot.img and system files.
(5)After installation of zip file reboot your smartphone .
(6)Your smartphone will restart 2-3 times and finally will boot .
(7) Finally you have rooted your smartphone and installed TWRP permanently .Now install busybox and enjoy.
Note: Please Select Expert Mode when you open SuperSu app first time after this process(you will be asked by SuperSu app to select two modes 1 Expert , 2 New User ; always select Expert or root will not function properly).
I hope you got what you wanted . If i helped you then please Subscribe , like and share also Hit thanks here on xda.

Flashing kingo root superuser is not a bad idea, you can try it but be aware of risks so take a backup through TWRP.You can try anything new after taking backup,if something goes wrong then restore your backup.Good luck.
Need latest twrp recovery
I want the latest version of recovery for xolo era 4g and want some custom roms....plz make it.....plzz
I'm facing an issue with the OEM Unlock toggle in developer options. When I toggle it On and select OK for the pop-up box that comes. It automatically disables it. Can u help me out with this and tell me why I'm facing this issue?
yes.. i was too facing this problem but if u are trying to install custom rom then u can flash 5.1 version through SPD Upgrade Tool and then toogle that option then install ur custom rom...
no option is there!

[GUIDE] Rooting Blu Grand M and Install TWRP ( STILL WORKING ON IT )

HOW TO ROOT Blu Grand M
Disclaimer: I hold no responsibility over what happens to your phone during the beginning,in the middle, and after you follow this guide
backup your files, if you don't then you're about to lose em.
(keep in mind, work in progress, sort of... ?, your choice to follow this guide)
DON'T 100% TRUST THIS YET, BECAUSE THERE IS NO CUSTOM ROM OR ANY WAY I KNOW TO ALLOW YOU TO INSTALL STOCK OS AND KEEP BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED AT THE SAME TIME. APOLOGIES. YOU CAN TRY TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT IF YOU WANT. I DON'T HAVE THE DEVICE TO WORK ON THIS.
--start--
Now, before you start. I feel that you need at least a VALID reason to root.
like, why do you want to root? is it for some app that requires root privileges? cause it'd be pretty useless to go
through all this without a proper reason .---. , I'm going to divide the steps into 4 Chapters (hehehe)
also the entire reason why this post exist is because I was helping a friend gain ROOT privileges cause they have an Blu grand M haha..
I don't see that many posts regarding this.. this is just to help people , if you already knew how to root your phone from the beginning then good for you.
Chapter 01: Getting prepared!
Just, WHAT are the things you need to begin rooting exactly???
well(downloads in here aswell):
a computer
a cord for your Blu Grand M
SD card
TWRP recovery for Blu Grand M from Original forum post here , by Laelson , here's a google drive link
SuperSu flashable zip file > http://www.supersu.com/download
make sure the drivers are already installed aswell
ADB > https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
STOCK ROM > https://www.needrombd.com/Rom/blu-grand-m-firmware/
Chapter 02: Getting started!!
enable developer options by going to settings > system > about phone > keep tapping "build number"
enable "usb debugging" and"OEM Unlocking" in developer options
plug phone to PC
open CMD on your computer then do CD <driverletter>:<into ADB folder>
in cmd , type "adb reboot bootloader" and press enter
put .IMG file into same folder as ADB
on CMD do "fastboot oem unlock"
choose YES
your phone is wiped.
Chapter 03: Flashing TWRP and using SP flash
now, with 2nd chapter done. and the IMG file of the recovery is in the same folder adb is inuse the cmd and type "fastboot flash recovery <nameofFILE>.img then reboot to twrp and then POWER OFF , once its off. open SP Flash Tool extract the downloaded STOCK ROM to its own folder and on SP flash tool and select "scatter loading file" and locate the scatter file of the stock rom after that. you should see on the big box that there are alot of things. unckeck "recovery" and click "download" , and wait for it to finish once it is finished unplug and BOOT PHONE INTO RECOVERY
Chapter 04: Flashing SUPERSU and reboot ;D
make sure you put your supersu zip in your sd card or phone storage by now, if not then put it in there first , ok so tap on install and locate SUPERSU zip, flash then reboot ;D
CREDITS
- @Laelson , if no TWRP for Blu Grand M then root isn't going to be on this phone for a while , so thanks
Not confirmed by anyone else but my friend. but try it if you want
My twrp worked Bro?? Congratulations for your tutorial. ?
it's showin internal storage(0mb)...
adb do not working good for my devicve... I download every thing right but when you type
adb oem unlock..... you see ( wait device)... and stop my phone in fastboot mode.... I can not get out from that... when you type ( fastboot devices) no thinge occure ... and you stay in fastboot mode....... I could not get out of it ... I tried several methods and could not .. Just left my phone until it was completely extinguished ... Then I re - shipped it .... It works now .... Maybe work with you ... but never never Succeed with me ..
Will this work with the Blu Grand 5.5 HD as it has the same chipset, processor and GPU? It has a different screen size and resolution
Hi all, I just want to let you know that
* yes, it does work, my friend was able to install it and boot into twrp but so far I have not seen a proper custom ROM for the device I was helping my friend with. so we quit (he eventually got a new google pixel phone anyway)
note: yes, we have installed TWRP and booted into it. but someone has to: make custom rom for device or try to find a way to install STOCK OS and keep bootloader unlocked at the same time. will update OP to warn everyone. sorry.
P.S: sorry for the really late reply, was busy with life.
Hi bro! I tell you that the terminal that I have now, I CANNOT flash anything, it has the BootLoader closed and I can't penetrate or delete it. Any suggestions? Scripts commands do not work, they issue an error message.
