Howdy,
What's the fastest/snappiest ROM for S2 Plus?
I don't care about having the latest version or not, I will keep this phone as backup, so KK/LP/MM, any will do.
I just want the UI to be snappy without lagging.
I won't be playing games on it, just apps and maybe taking a photo from time to time.
Currently I've installed ResurrectionRemix Marshmallow 5.7.4 by doriandiaconu but it feels kind of laggy.
Heck, I'd stay with the stock Samsung ROM if it wasn't laggy as hell
So, any suggestions?

I suggest you CM12.1 of andixlm or CM13 of GHsR
I'd suggest CM 12.1 and installing a custom kernel. Plenty of 'em in this forum.
Good luck flashing!

It honestly depends on what you want in a ROM as what works for me won't be good for you. Right now am running the Avatar ROM which is CM 10.1 with MIUI themes which is stable for me but like all ROMs you might not have the same experience.
Stable
Official cyanogenmods are usually stable. You can look on their site to find their downloads if you're confused by the unofficia; vs official. Other than that as was previously stated, test out the rom (I usually give the rom a week to see what issues may be present) and use that to determine features you may like. If you want recommendations on roms I would say AOSPA (Paranoid Android), AOKP, Cyanogenmod, carbon rom, rootbox, liquidsmooth(but you already used that), Blackbean(You can try 7, but 8 is on the way), and that's pretty much it, also don't completely turn away from unofficial builds yet. Read the forums and find out about them a little. I've been running an unofficial rootbox with cherrypicks for the last two weeks and it is rock solid for example. Hopefully this helps you out with you decision. Have fun and happy flashing

I haven't tried Paranoid. I can say that Slimbeans is very stable, fast and beautifully constructed. You really won't find any problems that don't exist in the 4.22 ROMs, as a whole.

such a question can actually terminological war!!!
anyways...
I use cyanogenmod
this is the best and and the most stable one (although nightly build)...
based on android 4.3....
you can also try the unofficial cyanogenmod 11 build based on android 4.4.2...
FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE FLASHING (especially before the cm11 4.4.2 )
The most I like is CyanogenMod 10.2 because it has Android 4.3.0 and the performance in games is amazing! I could have all Gameloft games, (with foldermount) And lag never comes.
I'll recomend you that rom.
Regards
Thank you guys for your reply

I was on CM 11 but then I moved to slimrom. Im trying that now.
i love pacrom
i was using pacrom 4.4.4 with multi exclusive features but i had a bad sound quality (main problem with cm 11, omni, slimkat and some few others). Due to this I'm only stuck at paranoid 4.4.4 ..great features but i prefer pacrom and cm 11. Any sound quality changes then i get those roms back. any help plzzzz

CM12.1 unofficial ROM by Android Andi
I use this some graphical glitches only no big isssiues
Here is my experience with the roms I have flashed so far:
CM11: My current ROM, not the smoothest, but pretty stable, weekly OTA updates, stagefright fixed
Slimkat: Pretty smooth, minimalistic, fast, stagefright vulnerable, no update since Dec 2014
Omnirom kitkat: Also fast, complicated pull down menu, stagefright vulnerable, no update since May 2015
unofficial CM12.1: few glitches, not very fast,
MIUI: Never again!
@puflynx
Explain about your problem. I too had some audio problems in that rom.
---------- Post added at 05:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:27 PM ----------
Slimlp is also a good rom.found a bug where it reboots randomly atleast 5 times a day.
Now my current rom is resurrection remix which is pretty fast, no bugs so far.

Hi Andi, I know that this is an old thread but I want to know your opinion about. I use my P3110 mostly for Internet browsing and music listening with Bluetooth speakers. What rom combines the best of both characteristics? I'm using the last release of your CM13 mostly because I like the V4A Mk-mod but seems to be a little laggy to me. Of course must be stable and speedy enough. Thanks in advance.
For me its Paranoid Android version 3.99.. tried many others and always come back to this one
Cm13 by Andy
So which rom do you recommend for daily use? Thanks in advance

I can't tell you the best one.. All roms have some bugs, sometimes not so bothering than others. 5.1.x roms have BSODs(blue screen of death) therefore aren't stable... Kitkat roms are not so popular so .. CM12 is stable/fast for me
CM12 + Thunderzap 4.14 ?
Stock
Sent from my C2105 using XDA Free mobile app
After trying different roms on my xperia L, I think that the stock rom is best for daily use. CM 11 is also good, but in my experience after using it for a couple of months it started to get very slow and also had a few critical bugs. CM 12 was very disappointing for me. It is very slow even on clean install, app open times are extremely slow (especially when using link2sd), ram management is terrible (launcher often redraws), internal memory fills up qickly and battery life is worse compared to CM 11.
Delete some of your apps/data lol
---------- Post added at 09:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:35 PM ----------
cm 12 works good for me
I'll stick with stock then. Thanks for your answers i have taken my decision.
Theres no best rom for any device. It's the users that realise which rom suits best according to their need. So it could be different for everyone.
Developers work very hard for their development and comparing them is the worse thing that could be done
I have been working around with many ROMs lately and had a hard time with all of them. Most of them were based on CM. And most of them had network/Sim issues. I just found out that a good stable ROM for GT-P3100 is SLIM 4.4.4. I have not tried it yet but i would like to try something with Marshmallow instead of Kitkat. Is there a good stable rom with Marshmallow?

I just installed a custom ROM for my galaxy s6 (g920p) along with stock gapps. But my touchscreen is unresponsive. I am able to use my phone with a mouse and physical buttons. My camera is not working, sim card is not working, flashlight not working. Any fix for this issue.

It's probably a better idea to post in the lineage os post, the rom has bugs and releases different builds of the rom, are you using the very latest build available?
Yes it is the latest version of the Lineage ROM but I tried installing AOKP ROM before but it had the same problem then

Currently there is only resurrection remix, aokp, and lineage os which based on stock Android, they all have very similar bugs and some only support g920f/g925f variants, so I guess you'll just have to wait until better builds are released
---------- Post added at 04:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:13 PM ----------
Just to note, exynos based devices are hard to develop fully bug free roms as samsung will never release the source for there system, that's why you have these bugs in the roms that are stock Android. Tbh were lucky to even have these stock roms working to a certain extent.

I think your main issue you have is they have not developed a working kernel for your variant, I think they only have g920f/g925f kernel at the moment which is why you have issues. No probs you're welcome.
