I can't tell you the best one.. All roms have some bugs, sometimes not so bothering than others. 5.1.x roms have BSODs(blue screen of death) therefore aren't stable... Kitkat roms are not so popular so .. CM12 is stable/fast for me
CM12 + Thunderzap 4.14 ?
Stock
Sent from my C2105 using XDA Free mobile app
After trying different roms on my xperia L, I think that the stock rom is best for daily use. CM 11 is also good, but in my experience after using it for a couple of months it started to get very slow and also had a few critical bugs. CM 12 was very disappointing for me. It is very slow even on clean install, app open times are extremely slow (especially when using link2sd), ram management is terrible (launcher often redraws), internal memory fills up qickly and battery life is worse compared to CM 11.
Delete some of your apps/data lol

cm 12 works good for me
I'll stick with stock then. Thanks for your answers i have taken my decision.
Theres no best rom for any device. It's the users that realise which rom suits best according to their need. So it could be different for everyone.
Developers work very hard for their development and comparing them is the worse thing that could be done

Hey guys,
So I really want to get an AOSP rom but seems whenever i go to one i have problems. I tried LiquidSmooth R2 last night and had problems(LED light not working for SMS).
What would you recommend? I keep seeing CM10.1 but theres so many unofficial builds that i dont know which to go with. I just want stability which i know is a big thing ha. Any suggestions?

It honestly depends on what you want in a ROM as what works for me won't be good for you. Right now am running the Avatar ROM which is CM 10.1 with MIUI themes which is stable for me but like all ROMs you might not have the same experience.
Stable
Official cyanogenmods are usually stable. You can look on their site to find their downloads if you're confused by the unofficia; vs official. Other than that as was previously stated, test out the rom (I usually give the rom a week to see what issues may be present) and use that to determine features you may like. If you want recommendations on roms I would say AOSPA (Paranoid Android), AOKP, Cyanogenmod, carbon rom, rootbox, liquidsmooth(but you already used that), Blackbean(You can try 7, but 8 is on the way), and that's pretty much it, also don't completely turn away from unofficial builds yet. Read the forums and find out about them a little. I've been running an unofficial rootbox with cherrypicks for the last two weeks and it is rock solid for example. Hopefully this helps you out with you decision. Have fun and happy flashing

I haven't tried Paranoid. I can say that Slimbeans is very stable, fast and beautifully constructed. You really won't find any problems that don't exist in the 4.22 ROMs, as a whole.

From what I'm gathering in the forums, the stable release if Liquid is coming... Soon... Rejoice and be glad of it.
For me AOKP and Eclipse were the most stable. So it depends on your phone n your setup also preferences

I'm using slimkat for my Captivate. It seems to be the fastest from the ones I have tried so far.
Slimkat 5.0
Hi,
I tried lot of roms, but now i am using SlimKat 5.0 Stable Link here, is the fastest kitkat rom i ever used.
Initially i face some issues at first in this rom, font & icon size are too small, then i download an dpi changer application and set to 233 (cappy's default resolution), then works perfectly.
* i use gapps (slim_minimal_gapps 4.4.2 which was lighter only 67 mb)
* i use Galaxy Laucher (downloaded from play store)
* Atrium for Facebook (alternative, because it takes too much ram)
* Pluma for Twitter (alternative)
* RAM 417 MB
Conclution:
Even using whatsapp, facebook & twitter, still i have 135 mb ram free.I highly recommend this rom, because it is fast, stable & better battery.
C-RoM Mix v25
I also tried lot of roms but now i am using C-RoM Mix v25.
Smooth Jellybean Rom and was using kitkat 4.2.2 but faced auto shutdown issues in different roms.
1. Using Galaxy Launcher instead Touchwiz with Weather to save more ram and only google+ and whatsapp installed.
2. Games are working fine so many like (a) Hill Climb Racing (b) Zombie Diary (c) Zombie Diary 2 (d) Raging Thunder (e) Dr. Driving but after close wifi or net connection.. not working fine Candy Crush.
3. RAM 396 MB and while running gapps with whatsapp 100 MB Free..
When i still had my cappy before it was aquired via 5-finger-discount from me i last ran CM as my DD. It made that phone into an otherworldly beast; it was like the breath of life giving birth to a 10xs better device than when samsungs TW.UI was on there.
Slimkat 5.4 Weekly
I'm using SlimKat 5.4 weekly. Very smooth kitkat ROM.
My Cappy is now my secondary phone, so I stick with CM nightly builds.

I am also using slimkat, after trying 5 or 6 other ones. It is definitely the fastest ROM I've used. It is also the most stable one for me.
CM 10.1.3 - using my Cappy for Sports tracking and music. I keep it as a backup phone to my SGS3, so there is no SIM installed atm. I normally keep it in airplane mode, battery life is great, GPS works well.
Considering going to CM10.2 and maybe on to a KK rom, will see.
Currently running 2.3.5 (KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition). Although I've ran it through the infamous Android Kitchen and modified it to my liking, it's basically just a slimmed down, modded GB rom. When I actually have time to mess around (also have 3 other devices I experiment with and a full time job ha) I'll eventually try something newer.
Update: Got bored and picked up the Cappy. Went through the necessary procedures and flashed Optimum JellyBean by Likeman (4.3.1). Just because ... ha!
I am using CyanAOSP 4.2.2, supernexus based ROM. The fastest and most stable ROM I have used till date. Doesn't slow down after a week or even after months like few other ROMs. Have found it to be the best for my cappy.
Just changed, yesterday, to CM 10.2.1 from CM 10.1.3. After one day it seems to be an improvement.
Used it for 4 hours on the bicycle with a sports tracking app, the GPS worked magnificently. I am not using it as a phone any longer, simply for tracking rides and music.
So... I'm planning to switch to Nexus 5 because my current phone (xperia zl) is lost...
Can you guys suggest me a good custom rom? I mean lag-free (no lag when you pull down the notification drawer), and stable ?
Thanks a lot, sorry if i'm asking such as unimportant question, i'm new in here
Since AOSP is built for Nexus range, they're all about as lag free as each other and all pretty stable.
Just look for the features you want and try the roms...

But i've read on some website said that PA, Carbon, and Mahdi is laging.. .Is that true?
If they are, its users poor setup or certain apps. ?
Stock is noticeably faster than pacman cm based ROM no matter what my settings were.
Going to try a couple more aosp based Roms like rastakat for the missing features from stock.
Will definitely be sticking to aosp Roms now though and not bother with any cm based.

Also pa was definitely faster than pacman but since I didn't run it back to back against stock ROM I can't say if it was slower or faster.

Cm has always been a battery drain for me since cm6. Its never been more stable than anything else. Maybe their final versions are as stable as everything else, but all their nightlies and everything else released between the final versions always seem to introduce bugs. And they always change stuff that doesn't need changing.
I will never use cm again. Simply awful.

read the xda threads on xda in general, q&a. many many times its cm thats unstable. besides, i spent years on cm, i know what it can be like. anyways, for the nexus 5, there are many roms that id consider more stable than cm.
First time trying a cm based ROM on my n5 and first time I have stability issues. Had to hard reboot cause it wouldn't wake up at all.

MIUI or SMIUI's camera app is better - for most of the other features ivan's stock 5.1x rom is better. Haven't flash Paranoid Android - but am using xposed which works fine. Couldn't get coloros ported camera to work on ivan's 5.5.20 rom.
I am actually thinking of going back to SMIUI or the stock rom, just for the camera.
Checked Paranoid Android - OPO camera works on it which is good, but it is almost like a stock rom - very few extra features.
ive tested many roms, and right now i'll stick to Mokee ROM, it has many useful features & the battery is excellent. so far no SOD or any other major bugs
roms i recommend are:
mokee rom
omnirom
xenonhd
I think currently best ROM for Mi4 is CyanogenMod, it is quite stable within 5th built.
Have you tried?

Dirty Unicorn , it is official. No one simple problems, works well even with custom kernel GOD's kernel.
i like EOS, Dirty Unicorn and Resurrection Roms on my MI4
Maybe you can try win 10? it is very stable, and good battery life too.
cMIUI
best rom for BATTERY LIFE is cyanogenmod 12.1
believe me i get 5 hrs of scrren on time over 2 days of usage and i got max of 7 hrs on heavy use):
Cmiui 5.11.5 is the best rom for me with 7,5h sot
How the hell do you get MIUI 7 based off Android Marshmallow OTA? I've got MIUI 7.1.2 but its still KitKat?!!?!? I just want Marshmallow. Considering flashing CM13, but I actually liked MIUI.
Howdy,
What's the fastest/snappiest ROM for S2 Plus?
I don't care about having the latest version or not, I will keep this phone as backup, so KK/LP/MM, any will do.
I just want the UI to be snappy without lagging.
I won't be playing games on it, just apps and maybe taking a photo from time to time.
Currently I've installed ResurrectionRemix Marshmallow 5.7.4 by doriandiaconu but it feels kind of laggy.
Heck, I'd stay with the stock Samsung ROM if it wasn't laggy as hell
So, any suggestions?
