I am trying to reverse engineer deeper into how OTA update authentication works. I'm hoping that someone who got this update from Huawei via OTA (without using FunkyHuawei) can send me a PM with their primary and secondary IMEIs. Thanks in advance.
Thanks Duraaraa for your support.
I live in Italy. When i receive the update (ota), I'll send you my primary and secondary IMEI.

It's done with Huawei's private key. It's not possible to re-generate it, unless you find Huawei's private key. Perhaps you can become a ninja and infiltrate Huawei to find it?

Done. No ota at the moment.

OTA and full package just allowed for my IMEI that you have in PM. I checked like one hour ago nothing and now suddenly it is allowed.
Downloading right now.

I just confirmed. C432B138 is now being signed by Huawei for all IMEIs.
The same thing happened with B126, where there was an early rollout, and a late rollout.
I can make sure that everyone can get the update with the early rollout for the next update by using FunkyHuawei, but unfortunately, I did not capture the non-encoded IMEI of a phone approved for early rollouts, so I was not able to look into it deeper. Hopefully someone who received the early rollout will share next time
Sorry if this has been mentioned but I wanted to confirm my fully converted China AL00 to L29 has just received B138 OTA, I'm so happy Thank you duraaraa for all your help.

Great. That's the first confirmation of a successful OTA update after rebranding, so it's good to know it works as expected.
I think those who rebrand to Europe will not get the early rollout (unless they use FunkyHuawei to get it), but will get the OTA when the full rollout happens. Then, there are a few with a magic IMEI which are approved to install the updates earlier. I am trying to figure out the logic behind that, but I need more information. I have found a skeleton key for the C636 region, though.
hopefully C432B15x is already in works and you'll get some info from someone with magic IMEIs soon .
thanks again.

Indeed, let's hope so. I also hope for a LON-L29C432 build to be signed, but I've seen nothing from that yet. Nor have I seen any way to get MHA-L09C432 signed.
I'm interested in the US model and Alexa, as well.

Hello Duraara and thanks for figuring it out. Can you advise why many users did not received B138 for C432 version? Is there any dependency that blocks it?

Interesting. Should I try using another SIM from same country or just wait till Huawei will release it for my IMEI?
What's also interesting some folks reporting having B138 notification but not anymore.

I don't know whether another SIM will help, and I also don't know if Huawei will ever release it for your phone. It's all up to Huawei. I have an exploit that lets me offer it to all phones, but in developing the exploit I was not able to determine exactly what causes Huawei to push the update to a phone or to not push it, unfortunately.
So the B138 update is slowly running out?
If so, the will those who used Funky Huawei to flash, recover phone receive it?
Thx

It can't be known for sure. It depends on Huawei, and which phones they decide to push it to, and under which circumstances.

anyone heard anything about c567 rom?
it has been 5 months no upgrades, even security patch.
is NA huawei still alive?
I agree. Other regions get it but not the NA model. Hopefully Oreo comes along soon and gets us updates. Feels like another Samsung scenario.
I've had 3 huawei devices. Mate 2,8,9
Traditionally, the NA device appears to be the LAST to get the updates.
Personally, other than security updates, it doesn't bother me, as the 2,8,9 have been
rock solid for what I do.
Would it be nice to have the latest, yeah I guess. It going to bother me personally not to have
the latest? Nope, not a bit.
only need security patch, system is good.

I guess you could rebrand to something else. I mean, Firmware are supposed to update each month (security patches) but apparently they forgot C567. Rebranding is a workaround until they remember C567 again I guess.
Did any of you try contacting Huawei and ask why?

Hi folks - I'm a first time poster here, so go easy on me
I bought a second hand Honor 6X (BLN-L21) last week. It had Android 6 on it so naturally I checked to see if Android 7 was available for it. It was, but not by checking in-phone for OTA updates. I used the steps on this site STechGuide, perhaps in a bit of a rush...
So the upgrade process said it had failed after about 20 minutes. But after it rebooted it was indeed on Android 7.0 and EMUI 5, but now shows the Build Number as "NRD90M test-keys" and I cannot get it to check for updates. Also now each time I restart the phone I get a message saying "Your device has failed verification and may not work properly".
If I go into the 'eRecovery' settings, it connects to my home wifi and it fails to get package info and all I can do is reboot it.
So in short - how can I blast it back to its original firmware and thereby get official Huawei/Honor OTA updates? Also shouldn't the 6X have received Nougat in the UK by now?
Thanks and apologies for the newbie question that has no doubt been asked many times.
DM
You can ignore warning message. It wont cause any issue. This is because you may have unlocked bootloader while doing this.
What is the build number of firmware you flashed?
BLN-L21CXYZBXYC
please provide these details and I can help with the stock files.
we need OEMINFO file as well to get rid of this NRD test key stuff.
Namaste Shashank and thanks for the reply.
Although I can simply hit the power button to proceed, I would prefer it to automagically proceed to boot!! It was already SIM-unlocked when I bought it by the way. I bought this model second hand, so have the original box it came in and that only says it's a BLN-L21 with a S/N, EAN and IMEI1 (it's a dual sim model though a European model). It has 32Gb storage and 3Gb RAM. The sticker on the bottom of the box (with the S/N) says "This device may be operated in all member states of the EU" if that helps...
I was stupid enough not to take pictures or screenshots of all the system details before flashing it to Nougat, so I cannot give you the specific BLN-L21xxxxxxx information - I thought it might be found via the *#*#2846579#*#* USSD code, but while there is plenty of information there, it doesn't give a specific BLN-L21xxxxxxx code :/
I've tried attaching the phone to the HiSuite application, but it says everything's up to date. HALP!
How exactly can I determine the OEMINFO? I have a bunch of pictures I took with my other phone to illustrate the problem if you need them...

Sorry for the late answer brother, i just saw this post. So, i bought mine from Amazon and it is classified HW/EU standing by what my vendor.img says, my build it's C432. But don't worry, there's an easy way to know your build number in any moment; just write your IMEI here http://www.imei.info/ and details should follow

Oh i see... Well, there's even an adb method to know build and other props. To obtain Android version you can write on adb "adb shell getprop ro.build.version.release", while other the rest should be visible after that you write "adb shell getprop".
Let me know if you can figure it out!

There is an easier and much safer way to update if you still have a SIM card of the country you purchased the phone from. It doesn't even have to be active anymore. Just insert it and reboot, then connect to wifi and all the updates will pop up.
Hope that helps

Believe it or not but it matters! Maybe your friend activated the C567 phone with a European SIM card and that's why he receives updates.
I bought a C636 phone in Cambodia and am constantly traveling around South East Asia. I never receive updates of any kind but the moment I insert a Cambodian SIM card the updates pop up.

Well, if I had read it more carefully I would've said you need to downgrade to Nougat.
But it's done if you follow the instructions.
Sorry for the misinformation.
Edit: Though, with an oeminfo.bin from Oreo you should be able to rebrand straight to Oreo.

With the latest update, I got the faceunlock funktionality. If I try to the register my face, I always get the error message, that face recognition is not possible. Any Ideas?
I heve similar issue. My Honor came wiht 80.0.120 software. There is no face unlock full option. Only locscreen messages. OTA can't see any other (130) update. I have bought this phone in Germay and I am using it in Poland. Any ideas?
Hello, I just got this phone yesterday. It came with 120 (C432) software version and the November security patch. To be able to Face unlock the device, we have to have build version 130 with January security patch. I'm still waiting for the update to hit my Honor View 10.
Is there any way to update it to 8.0.0.130 manually? Honor Poland claims that I can't get official OTA update becouse my region is not supproted.
I have recieved information from Germn Honor Customer Service that my phone will be updated not later than 19th March 2018. Maybe yours also will be affected in the same time.

I got mine from Amazon.de last week and it was on 80.0.120 but updated itself to 8.0.0.130 (C432) immediately after first boot.
I have bought it in Poland. But it is from german distribution. I do not know if it is unlocked? I don't think so. It is strange. I thought that it will update after first boot. But nothing happened.
I received several updates over HiCare, but didn't get the 130 update. Did anyone tried to update via HiSuite?

thank you very much for your reply on this case.

Hello,
I cannot find the Region setting in the Language & Region setting? Since Updated mobile.
unlocked UK
I have tried full reset but nothing?
Am at a loss as to why?
Any ideas please?

No idea. I still have it.
However, in the past when I've updated I've ended up with a Theme Store (didn't work, but it was there!) Then on the next update, it's gone.
All you can hope is that it reappears next update? Most bizarre £1k flagship I have ever had the mis-fortune to own!

You could try flashing a different region version eg. Oppo Australia website has A23 available for download, flash that over your current version (you won't lose anything).
It's very strange you don't have it as it's a very basic default menu setting.
The Region setting is ROM specific, in the UK the region option isn't there with contract devices as it's running UK carrier ROM which doesn't need another region

But surely the ability to change the region is still required, people travel with their phones all the time and need to be able to change to the country they are in.

Although I understand your point of view, unfortunately I don't work for the ColorOS team, I can only tell you why the setting isn't present in the ROM not why they haven't implemented it
If it is because it's carrier specific ROM, then all you can do, as I mentioned, is turn off auto update and wait for the next global release to appear, and flash that from the website. Global ROM has the region settings. Don't use OTA until you have the global 'clean' ROM installed
Hello,
I have the same problem, (UK unlocked)
I spoke to a lady from oppo on Friday morning who called me back later and told me to wait for the next update as they know of some "glitches" in the software the Region setting disappearing being one of them.
Hope this helps?
But we can't get the updates because of the region is gone, installing a different firmware doesn't bring it back either
Where can I find the global ROM?

Do you know of a global ROM I can install via the recovery?
The last version I know of is Australia .23
the roll back version is .25
But until oppo send out an interim update you will not gain Region setting, if you try it will fail if your software number is higher
It's all down to oppo I'm afraid.

Exectly but I got a fix for that, the NEW rollback file is A.25 , the bugged rollback file was A.23,
So the old rollback file had issues with sim, so I flashed the new rollback file and it fixed that problem, so then I flashed the old rollback file again and it doesn't give me sim issues no more but still have A.23 and yes now flashing other A.23s work now but still no ota updates via vpn
If that sounds confusing, ino it is lol
Hello,
I reflashed the A.25 after reboot over the "fix" ROM A.25
This is the Oppo website for ALL the different countries hope this helps?
Some countries don't have find x2 pro

So you wore on the fixed A.25 then did you do a reflash of the same A.25? Did it fix anything

Did she tell you how we would receive the update because the OTAs or vpns don't work so how would we receive this one if we can't receive the July one?
