Has anyone had success with installing Magisk systemless root on the J700?
If so may you explain how you did it?
Thanks

Hi,
I was recently having some trouble with Magisk in that I flashed it however didn't gain root so I uninstalled it and thought I would try with SuperSU however upon flashing SuperSU then trying to flash Magisk there was an error with Magisk saying that there isn't enough space in the boot partition and to delete some ramdisks and right now I am at a complete loss at what to do. (SuperSU - V2.79 | Magisk - V11.6)
Any help at all is appreciated, thankyou

Thanks! This fixed it and now I have Magisk working however was wondering if you know whether Viper4Android's Magisk Module would work with the S6 or there are more steps to follow if installing to a Samsung device?

Hi,
That depends on your kernel and what android version you are on.
Take a look at this guide, read the last pages for a little gudie on how to do it
Official V4A page can be found here, under post #2 you can read where it says "For Samsung devices"
Hope this helps.

Anyone know if I need to downgrade to MM and re-flash twrp to get Magisk working for systemless root?
I can install SuperSU but Magisk automatically reboots the phone while flashing the Zip file in twrp.

I followed the root thread and have root with superuser su.
I am interested in switching to magisk.
With no TWRP port yet is it possible to uninstall magisk if I bork it?
Have any of you good people tried to flash magisk on this phone yet?
From what I've bin reading using magical mite not be a good idea !
So can we now unlock boot loader and root it with chainfire binaries?
which version of superuser.zip do we have to flash with ?
please post questions in the Q&A next time.
Unlock Bootloader
Flash TWRP in fastboot
Flash latest SuperSU.zip you can find on the supersu homepage.
...or flash a prerooted custom rom
you can also root with magisk su btw. That way you can pass safety net etc if that is needed for you.
How do you pass safety net with bootloader unlocked. I want root for ad block but also want Android pay. Possible?

Magisk lets you use apps that do not work with root, such as mobile banking apps or Android Pay.

hey I could not find xposed module for oreo in magisk modules. how did u install?
It's in there, at least that's where I found and installed it.
yea its in there near the bottom
So don't you need a recovery for installing xposed with magisk?
I have my bootloader unlocked and I'm rooted with magisk, so can I just install xposed via magisk app? Without a soft-brick?
