Did anyone successfully flash Mt7 TL10 Chinese with KangVIP (b560 or b571)??? - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have MT7 TL10 Chinese. After 15+ hrs I managed to install TWRP MM, do Nandroid backup, flash SuperSU. Thank you for great support and tips on xda.
Now what I would like mainly to have is split screen like on Samsung phones with all the apps. But I can't install KangVIP b571, as I cannot flash stock b571, which is only for eu. I can't change my region, because when I run SRKToolHuawei-STABLE-V1.3-20160619, it gives me error errors such as files and system not found.
I dload'ed b500 transition package and MM is the fastest and most responsive on it. So for now I'll stay on it, as b561 lags like crazy. Camera takes few seconds between snap sounds and actually taking picture. Maybe I'll try to install TWRP and root it, and then try https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/help/split-screen-apps-t3233403.
To summarise, I have Mate 7 Gold, Chinese version, rooted and all, and can't flash with KangVIP, because I'm getting an error at the end. Did any of you managed to do it on the same unit??? Because I can't afford Samsung S7 edge at the moment, I'm trying to see what my options are while sticking with Mate 7.
BTW, it's amazing that people still participate in 2 year old phone forum

[Q] MT7-TL10 Europe Version - Reset to Stock

[email protected]
I get a new Mate 7 some days before and after a root process i'm trying now to reset the Device to the stock State and i'm little bit confused about all the Firmwares which are available for a download.
My Mate 7 is a MT7-TL10 Version with a preinstalled Firmware- Version MT7-TL10 V100R001C00B120SP04. I'm searching on the Huawai official Site under Region Switzerland for my ROM Version and i found and download it, but after extracting the ZIP File, i found a Word Document named MT7-L09 instead of MT7-TL10. So i'm not able to flash it, i mean i didn't try it because it's not the same Model and i wan't brick it. After reading three different Forums about Firmaware and flashing the Mate 7, i download the Global ROM MT7-TL10V100R001C00B119SP03. I was able to flash it and after a completed Factory Reset in the Stock- Recovery with Wipe Data/System & Wipe Cache it looks like SuperSU it's gone, BUT!!
I get some new Stuff on my Phone like Opera Browser and Payment UICC, and i'm not able to get OTAs. If i search for it on the Phone i allways get the same Message, there aren't Updates available. I thought if i flash MT7-TL10V100R001C00B119SP03 i would be able to get to MT7-TL10 V100R001C00B120SP04 by OTAs but it looks i was wrong.
Can somebody explain to me what to do to get the Fimware Version on the Phone where it was delivered with it? Please..
Many thanks!
[email protected]
I solved my Problem with Restore to Stock.
And this is how i do it:
After i wasn't able to download the ROM Version MT7-TL10 V100R001C00B120SP04 from Huawai Global Site when i choose Switzerland as my Conutry even though a download was available, but after unziping the File you get instead MT7-TL10 a MT7-TL09 ROM, i choose Italy as my Country and i get the right ROM.
I unzipped the ROM and copied it to the local Store of the Phone, then used the EMUI Updatetool and choose a local Store update. The Phone does a restart and boot up after the Update was done. To remove Opera and other Stuff from MT7-TL10V100R001C00B119SP03 i do a Factory reset. After the Phone boot up again, it was the original State like it was delivered the first Time. After check for OTAs i received a new Update and was able to install it successfull, so im now on MT7-TL10V100R001C00B125SP02.
Maybe it helps someone.
Thanks again!
Hey bud, so what's is the major and minor improvement of this latest firmware compared to the older one do you think?
Does your Huawei MT7-TL10 have dual SIMs?
yes, the gold version.

You couldn't solve the problem ? I tried to flash some other lollipop versions but it didn't succeed. I think the only option remaining is to wait for a rollback for TL09. What do you think ?

Yes. I tried to re-download the Marshmallow update twice to make sure I was not flashing a corrupted file, and I tried to flash B326 again, but my phone is still stuck in bootloop.

Here's the solution to your problem if you know your way around rooting, unlocking bootloaders,
installing custom recoveries and custom ROM's:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/general/tried-to-roll-b511-to-b326-fail-try-t3302479
If you don't understand the terms above, I am assuming your Mate7 has never been rooted/unlocked
and is running the official Huawei software/firmware/ROM. In this case, I can only suggest that you install
the official marshmallow to lollipop downgrade package for your Mate 7 phone model (TL10, L09, etc.),
after which, you can install the official Lollipop firmware for your Mate 7 phone model.
Unfortunately, the official marshmallow to lollipop downgrade package for Mate 7 TL10, L09 (non-China versions)
still does not exist. We have to wait for Huawei to release that package. Only the Chinese version of the
marshmallow to lollipop downgrade package has been released. (Applicable only if your Mate 7 is China version:
TL00, UL00, CL00)
You therefore have to wait for the downgrade package or send your phone to the service center
If not, then maybe you can try installing the official lollipop to Kitkat downgrade package for
Mate 7 TL10, L09 (non-China versions):
Lollipop to Kitkat Downgrade packages: (install in SD card main directory, under dload folder using
'force upgrade' <volume up + volume down + power button>)
TL10: http://consumer.huawei.com/my/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=47724&key4=MATE7
L09: http://consumer.huawei.com/it/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=45422&key4=MATE7
IF THE ABOVE IS SUCCESSFUL, then you can install the full official Kitkat software/firmware:
TL10: http://consumer.huawei.com/my/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=35105&key4=MATE7
L09: http://consumer.huawei.com/my/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=34805&key4=MATE7
IF NOT SUCCESSFUL, then you just have to wait for the release of the official marshmallow to lollipop
downgrade package or send your phone to a service center (assuming the service center personnel
are well versed with Huawei software).

I also have a Mate 7 TL10. My update to marshmallow beta B511 was successful. It's the best firmware I've used for my Mate 7 TL10 even if it is beta software. I having tried the official lollipop firmwares (B329, B326, B324) and official KitKat firmwares (B119SP03, B120SP04, C00B130) but none can quite beat the marshmallow beta.
Maybe your B511 file is corrupted. Try re-downloading it using the download link provided by Carbon Tesla for TL10:
[Go to carbontesla.com/2016/01/download-ascend-mate-7-b511-marshmallow-ota-zip/]
Try reinstalling [force upgrade (volume up + volume down + power button)] the new download.
If not successful, you may need to try the downgrade package I mentioned earlier in this thread.

Hi everyone, just want to share my experience in this problem, it is not with a positive outcome but to save your effort and cut it short, maybe someone can continue from where I stopped and then we reach a solution. Let me tell you first that my phone is Huawei AM7 MTL10 , I was on Lollipop b324 before I tried to upgrade to M B511, I download the file from Carbontelsa site, installed on internal phone Dload directory and updated successfully and the phone restarted , and boom this was the last time I saw my phone working that was 2 weeks ago( now in boot logo loop, non stop till battery drain), since then, I am moving from one Forum to another for people to help me and to tell you the truth everyone is trying, except the Huawei service center or the Huawei global support which are all not up to your knowledge or expertise, they just say we cannot help. Ok sorry for being long but, I wanted to give you the full picture, here are the facts.
First, my phone is locked, bootlader locked and never been rooted.
Second, the phone hardware was perfectly well before the upgrade.
Third, now, in Bootlogo loop as all of your devices.
Fourth, you can only access two options in this disaster problem, either the EMUI ( with the three options either, reboot, factory reset or partition format) the other choice is by connecting it to PC with USB and fastboot mode. So our choices with a locked boot-loader are really limited.
Fifth, you cannot flash any official rom which is a version less than B511 and EMUI 4, phone won't accept! Always accept reflashing the same B511 many times succefully ( and this is a proof that it is not a hardware problem)
Now this is where you start to follow from where I stopped
Forget about unlocking boot loader , you are wasting your time! !
One of two directions to follow,
One: is to download the latest Hisuit version 4.0.0.42and go to fastboot and rescue mode and connect to PC , open Hisuite , press home on the upper left corner and choose recovery down, please download the Chinese version of this Hisuite or else others not working, however everything goes well till the last step then it fails.
Two, we have to wait for the mighty Huawei people to come out with higher version of Marshmallow or a special downgrade software to solve the problem, at least they have to show some respect to their customers who are trying their beta software!
I am a doctor and I wasted a lot of time trying to save my HM7 phone because I did not accept the fact that it cannot be repaired , but now after 2 weeks I just bought the Samsung galaxy note 5 and I'm so happy with it, one last thing, I always say, When you buy something important like a phone or a car, you buy a company not only the device, you buy the time , care and dedication of this company to support you when you are in trouble. Hope this help in a way
Really did not expect many had their Mate 7 phones (TL10, L09) bricked by the B511 marshmallow beta update. I see it here in xda and also in gsmarena Mate 7 opinions. It's sad Huawei is taking so long to release the official international marshmallow to lollipop downgrade package. I guess I'm one of the few who got B511 working for an international Ascend Mate 7 (TL10) phone. I'm actually loving the marshmallow beta (B511) on my phone so much that even when the downgrade package does come up, I'm not going back to official lollipop or official Kitkat. I'll just wait for the final version of Marshmallow (when it's no longer beta).
Here's my story how I updated to Marshmallow B511 without bricking my phone: My TL10 (dual sim) phone originally had KitKat B119SP03. A week after owning the phone, there was an OTA to KitKat B120SP04 and then another OTA to KitKat C00B130. Due to the promise of a better software in Lollipop, and the fact that Huawei was taking so long releasing an OTA for my phone to Lollipop, I tried installing manually (via local update), several Lollipop versions (C900B324, C900B326), downgrading to Kitkat AFTER EVERY Lollipop install using the official 'Lollipop to Kitkat' downgrade package (C900B300).
I did not want to risk a 'dirty' install by flashing one Lollipop version over another Lollipop version. Even though it is possible, it can have unpredictable results since you are not starting with a 'clean slate'. When I heard about marshmallow beta, I was on Lollipop C900B329 because it was also around that time when there was an official OTA from KitKat to Lollipop for my phone. From Lollipop C900B329, I resisted the temptation of installing marshmallow beta B511 directly onto a base firmware of Lollipop C900B329 because I read beforehand B511 marshmallow beta only works with Lollipop C900B326. I also resisted the temptation of a 'dirty install' from one Lollipop version (C900B329) to another Lollipop version (C900B326). I had to downgrade back to KitKat for a clean install, disabled the OTA to C900B329, then manually updated to C900B326, then to B511 marshmallow beta. In between each update (KitKat to Lollipop to Marshmallow), I updated all apps especially google services.
I hope this will help others have a successful marshmallow installation and avoid any more bricked Mate 7 phones because the marshmallow update really is much better than official Lollipop or official Kitkat even if it is still in beta. There are many more additional features and options never before available in Lollipop and Kitkat and it's a smoother and a much more refined software than either of the two.
I'd like to add that my phone is not rooted in any way with no custom recoveries/ROM's installed whatsoever and with the bootloader still locked (factory default). Those with previously rooted phones and/or with custom recoveries and/or unlocked bootloaders may have unpredictable results (including ending up in a bootloop or being bricked).

Thanks for sharing your experience, you have been more careful than me I admitt, my phone also is original factory default never rooted but I guess now , it makes no difference, it is dead in the drawer waiting for Huawei to release a downgrade or the official Marshmallow update.
Till then I am enjoying my new Samsung G note 5.

Guys I have mt7-l09 and its working with marshmallow, yes it drains more battery and some lagging in some areas but this should happen because its a beta and incremental release. For people who got spoil their phone while installing, you should read the requirements very well before downloading this rom. Its clearly mentioned for B326 and for un-rooted phones. so before you install you should install the B326 (you can download using this link: http://m.huawei.com/pkmobile/c... make sure to choose mt7-l09 or mt7-l10 and after installing the B326 install marshmallow beta.
For people who wants to downgrade, yes you can but you have to choose a full release like the B326-B327-B328.
N.B. ONLY Marshmallow BETA rom, Don't unzip the after downloading, its not like the other updates. You should copy the zipped file as is to inside "dload" folder.
Just a tip, some releases are not supporting 4G lte especially when it marked Europe.
For people who keep rebooting, try to connect you phone to pc or take out the memory card and use card reader and access your files and then delete the files from the "dload" folder and then download using your pc any full release rom (b326 or b327 or b328) and extract it and then copy the "UPDATE" file to the dload folder and then turn off the phone and then boot your phone while holding Vol up + Vol down + Power buttons at same time to automatically trigger the update installation and should go smooth.
Hope my comments will help

If you have a bricked phone any suggestion to restore it to working condition is worth trying.
I really don't know if the original author (wissam marrash at Carbon tesla website) tried this himself,
but it seems from his original post here (comments section):
http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/01/download-ascend-mate-7-b511-marshmallow-ota-zip/
it is INTENDED ONLY for those who are on bootloop while upgrading to b511.
Here is an excerpt of the original author's (wissam marrash) quote:
"For people who keep rebooting, try to connect you phone to pc or take out the memory card and use card reader and access your files and then delete the files from the "dload" folder and then download using your pc any full release rom (b326 or b327 or b328) and extract it and then copy the "UPDATE" file to the dload folder and then turn off the phone and then boot your phone while holding Vol up + Vol down + Power buttons at same time to automatically trigger the update installation and should go smooth.

Maybe you can ask the author (wissam marrash) at Carbon tesla website if you have doubts. As for me, my Mate 7 is not one
of those bricked by B511. I had a successful upgrade and have no plans whatsoever to rollback to Lollipop and KitKat which to
me are not quite as good and loaded with features which make me love B511 marshmallow beta.

ROM from Honor 6 Plus on Mate 7

Hi guys, I have a problem. I bought brand new Mate 7 with KK. I put SD card from my second phone - Honor 6 Plus. I wanted to have a LP on Mate 7 so I downloaded it from HW site and put it to dload folder in internal memory. I starts upgraeding procedure. Everything was OK, but after reebot I noticed that there is a LP ROM from Honor 6 Plus which I had on a SD card... Now I try to back to stock KK or LP, how to do that? When I try to install transition ROM from Mate 7 I have a error "instalation failure" :crying:
If you flash honor Rom you must use honor transition pack

So, is your Mate 7 booting up and working with the Honor 6 Plus rom. That in itself is a huge surprise. Even if you apply a Honor transition pack I doubt you'll be able to downgrade to Mate 7 KK rom from that. If you have an unlocked bootloader, then you can flash custom recovery and then restore your phone back to life using someone else's nandroid backup. You are in a very unique situation and definitely need expert help...

I tried the rom. I flashed my X2 to 703L so I can only fastboot flash this rom. No way to do a full dload.
Anyway, It works fine and smoothly for my X2, but my X2 is originally TW version and this is for TW X2, so it's supposed to working fine and smoothly.
I think hardware wise, there aren't any different in TW or other version of the Gem-702L version. Correct me if I'm wrong
Hmm! Maybe I'll make a stock rooted debloated version of this

Hey, wow I appreciate this very much.
I Converted from 702 to 703 will there be a way to go back to 702L?
If u make a stock debloatet, can u make one without huawei and google stuff as well??
A pure Rom without any supplementary Sniffing Data Stuff would be absolutely phantastic.
Nevertheless, If u d'ont, u do not, Hell on wheels, that's ok for me as well.
Thx, Ray

That would be extremely appreciated if you can do that. I'll try then to see if it converts my 702L with 703L rom back to its original form.
Huawei's TW stock rom is with gapps already, and less Huawei apps. It's basically for international use, only with a regional name.
It will take less trouble than doing a CN stock rom

It was downloading last night but Huawei's site is painfully show. When it said it was going to take 4 hours to download I just left the computer on and went to sleep.
So there's no one that have manually installed this Beta 6.0 on the original 702L ?,

A lot of Taiwanese users have upgraded. The feedback is nice. I don't know about other regions.
I couldn't try it because My X2 has been converted to 703L. It just won't let me get through the dloading.
======
By the way, I don't know if this is useful, but Huawei Taiwan actually provides a downgrade pack for 702L users to downgrade to 5.0 if they are not satisfied with android 6.0
Here's the download link:
http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=81363&version=323452&siteCode=tw
It's only 1x kbs, really tiny pack. It says that dload the downgrade pack first then do the full B005(5.0) dload.
Here's Huawei Taiwan download page if you want to download other versions of stock roms:
http://consumer.huawei.com/tw/tablets/support/downloads/mediapad-x2-tw.htm
Anyone who wants to try might go ahead.
I've already downloaded both package, but unsure about wether I should upgrade or not.
Just read on http://www.mobile01.com/topicdetail.php?f=629&t=4812210 , on that the phone is laggy for some and it runs "hot".
All gem702L runs version b006 as latest, while the Taiwan version only has b005 as their latest.
@iamhcg You write yesterday the downgrade script will also convert your 702to703device back to original 702.
Even if it goes hot, you would have enough time to be able to do the dload method to that B201 version.
Are there any advantages to use a version 201 instead 211? Only the strange thing with miracast. Maybe they bugged this after 201. Is there a difference if you go via this version here?

For what I see, the udate.app in downgrade pack contains some img files you can't flash through fastboot, such as crc.img curver.img, etc; those img files are for android 5.0 formaton.. It is a the first step of downgrading your device, then the full dload do the job.
The only thing is that the downgrade pack is for gem-702L. That's why I need to fastboot flash system img files of 702L to make it temporary go back to 702L, hence get the full process done.

The version No. in different regions are not equivalent. Huawei normally develops CN version first, then they make a few adjustment and roll out to different regions. So I'll say B201 TW is very close, if not equal, to B209 or B211.
For advantages, I do contact local Huawei guys, the response is: for regional roms, they make some adjustment to be more suited to the local environment, such as GPS tuning and some stuff. So now that gem-702L B201 is out, they suggest me to flash back.
Besides the official story, my personal experience is that B201 is more compatible to my gem-702l.
China is a huge but closed market. They setup their roms for local use (Hence, no Google services). But they put everything back to TW/International Roms. I think that's why miracast or other stuff runs well on my 702L in B201.
What I feel now:
1. no a lot of useless CN or Huawei apps.
2. complete gapps.
3. Miracast works.
4. Back to warranty of course.
5. stable.
It's basically just close to the user experience of B209 or B211 for 703L users. I am quite satisfied with it.
I think I'll stay in B201 unless the development gap between 702L and 703L becomes huge again, then I'll consider switch between models.
Now there's a safe way to get back, it wouldn't be a problem.
Thank you for this additional informations.
What do you think about the 701 users who had converted to 703 and want to downgrade for some reason.
Maybe someday Huawei could offer a 6.0 for 701 with fixed gps. I really saw an inaccuracy of 10-30 m on only gps using offroad usage and don't know if this is a consequence of my conversion to 703)
I think it could be possible
- flashing the four 702 img files,
and the universal cust b112,
Then it might be possible to use the downgrade script for 701 model, too.
Then I would install universal cust again and dload the B003 firmware for the 701.
Any comments about this idea?

Ok.. I've finally decide to update my Gem 702L to this Android 6.0, and so far this is my review of this update.
Everything run smooths.
There aren't as many shortcuts in the pulldown menu as before.
DPI changer is a nice thing, otherwise there aren't many changes.

**sorry I have to edit my own post a bit:**
I am not a developer so I don't even know what the uiversal cust does. You probably know more than I do.
I only know there are 2 quiteria:
1. you have to cheat the downgrade script that your device is a 702L for the downgrade to work.
2. You'll need a 701L-cust zip when you want to convert back to 701L
I don't know if unversal cust does the job. If yes, then there's no problem. If no, I rememeber ZeuseZ made a 701 cust file here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66824282&postcount=62
I think "Channel_ru.zip" is a 701 cust in Android 5.0 but I am not sure. Maybe you want to check with him.
Once you have the proper 701L flashable cust, I suggest you to follow my steps, first to make sure you can downgrade to android 5.0 as a 702L. The downgrade pack will check if your device is a 702L. If it's not, the downgrade/dload will stop.
Once the downgrading is done, it is easier from here.
You can simply extract img files from stock 701L, fastboot flash them, format internal storage, flash the 701l cust, then do the full dload thing. Then you should be back to 701L stock.
Yes I see. I doubted zeusez script would do the downgrade. Now we know that this is indeed only a partial of the process.
It just sets the system to a cust folder for region ru and offers that file.
I would need 'eu' for Europe.
I got that original eu file from a user with a untouched 701.
But it could be sufficient to set the model number and temporary to ru, so that dload for the B003 for 701 EU would work on the next step.
I will not test that personally until HW would offer a 701 upgrade. But I am sure there will be users who want to revert their phone for other reasons.

I've posted my process here. It's actually easy. You just have to go back to full B112 stock first; then follow the instructions. Where you are now is pretty much where I started.

No need to wipe first.

Stuck on android 6 Southeast Asia market 'specseas' build. How to update to 7 UK?

Hi all,
Having been in contact with Huawei facebook support, they have checked my imei and tell me my Mate 8 is for the Southeast Asia market - no surprise there as I bought it from eBay. So with a Mate 8 from Singapore or thereabout, how do I go about getting a uk rom on it? preferably emui 5 based? If it were a Samsung i'd just flash the normal way through odin, but I don't know with the Mate if region specifics are going to be an issue, or if i might wipe my imei or something horrific.. Is there a tut on updating an NXT-L29 'specseas' unit? I have looked!!
Sites like this http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/08/download-huawei-mate-8-b320-marshmallow-firmware-europe/ say things like 'This update should only be installed on C432 based European Mate 8 handsets'.
I'm currently on NXT-L29C636B193
Any assistance appreciated
Fred
Huawei's facebook team have come back to me saying 'The Mate 8 Build Number should be Mate 8 NXT-L29C432B192 or NXT-L09C432B192 (depends on the exact model number).' This has lead me to http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/10/download-huawei-mate-8-b192-marshmallow-update-europe/#more-9728 where I have downloaded the L29 version and copied the Update.app to my ext card as suggested. Could someone tell me if updating my phone this way is likely to cause me issues? i'm just copying off the entirety of my sd card expecting a full wipe at some point..
After forgetting everything I did yesterday I am now on build NXT-C900B192.
Where the heck do I go now??
currently installing NXT-L29C432B320 via the dload folder..
EDIT: Ok, update done and showing emui 4.1 but build NXT-C900B320. Any suggestions appreciated?
EDIT: Unlocked my bootloader and now copying NXT-L29C432B581 files over to the dload folder.. I'm starting to loose track!
Successful install of NXT-L29C636B560? yesterday then OTA updated to NXT-L29C636B563. Unfortunately the battery life has taken quite a hit, so now going to try NXT-L29C636B585 I guess!
EDIT: Using the firmware finder to download B585
EDIT: B585 installed through the firmware finder app! hopefully i wont get through the battery so quickly now!
