[Kernel][EOL][Alpha][CM14.1][n7100] Elite-Boeffla-Kernel - Galaxy Note II Android Development

Hi guys,
I want to present my kernel for the Samsung Galaxy Note II, that allows you to overclock up to 2.0GHz. This kernel is a port from Elite-Boeffla-Kernel (6.0.0.1-beta3), which was made for the Samsung Galaxy S3.
This kernel is currently an alpha version. Please don't expect everything to work fine.
Feature list:
- Every feature from Elite-Boeffla-Kernel for i9300 (6.0.0.1-beta3)
- no F2FS, because this doesn't work on the Note II using CM14.1
For configuration I recommend Boeffla Config.
You can use your old config you had using the official Boeffla-Kernel, but this may lead to minor problems. So I'd recommend to reset Boeffla Config before you flash my kernel. If you already use my kernel and just upgrading it you can use the old config without any problems.
WARNING!!! Nobody except you can and will be responsible for a damaged or bricked phone due to my kernel. It's very unlikely that my kernel harms your phone, but it's not impossible.
Have fun using my kernel and feel free to ask questions about it!

Hello and welcome to the note 2 development. We are happy about the kernel. Will give feedback after you give us download links .

I'm sorry for not providing any downloads, but I'm unable to attach any files to the download section. Every time when I want to accept the md5sum (after uploading) the upload form doesn't do anything.
I'll try uploading it later.

I guess uploading on another host like mega or mediafire and sharing the link on the main post is an alternative until the maintenance is finished here.

Yes, or just upload it to drive and paste the link

Waiting this kernel work with cm14 n7100 unofficial
Thanks

Uploading now works sir

Cool, and then we have TizenOS which is working on 4412 with a whole new and updated kernel source which can be ported to our device and significantly improve the performance of the Note II.
What kernel version is this?

Which rom are you on Andrew. That's good news could you share the news link. Would it work on Nougat.

It's a kernel based on the official kernel sources for CM14.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Note II (https://github.com/cyanogenmod/android_kernel_samsung_smdk4412)

I try your kernel. And I lost imei, no sim detected.
So I restore previous kernel and now work.
Please Check and fix
My Rom is latest cm 14.1

I know this bug. WiFi is also not working. I'll fix that when I get another Note II. I ported this kernel for a friend who wants to test something with it and he doesn't need RIL on his Note II. I will update the kernel when the team of Lineage OS apply some changes to the CM kernel but I can't do more at the moment because I can't test and debug my code.
So I can't guarantee this bug will get fixed. Sorry for that

Generally you can be on any firmware, it doesn't even have to be ICS. Just remember when we had the XXLQ7 leak, we didn't have new baseband yet. ICS modems are more optimized for ICS blobs and that gives some improvement. The latest official (ICS) rom is XWLP8 Indian ICS. It has DDLP3 modem and since it's the latest, it must be the best. Even if there are no changes in modems, we can't be sure, so it's the best to be use that baseband.
Very Smooth Rom.
I cannot connect device with pc (Also No option to select Mass storage or MTP mode).

Animation is attractive

No settings for launcher, Lockscreen and quick setting panel.
Glad to see Omni, its a great rom
@Adam77Root: It just a change in widget clock with dimensions.. I got the patches from google.. will post the link...
Where can i find the device source? I am stuck in AOSP, so now downloading SlimKat source.. Hope this will work

You can take logcat with adb without root. For root you have to install latest (!) SuperSU.
You can find some lockscreen settings in security settings, the others are not yet implemented.

Well, i try many times to merge cm12 patches to omnirom, the important patches like frameworks/av/base/native which contain fix for camera and other features but without result, omni framework's based on pure aosp so i can't merge cm12 patches because frameworks are not compatible if frameworks/base code's patch are not match with source i can't do anymore, anyway I will release SlimLP for our phone in this days, i was planning to do that last week but i have issue with my machine.
P.S. : i do a "half" port of Ubuntu Touch by getting shell access to the device, taking blank screenshots and also internal sdcard has been recognized without problem, the only issue to fix is broadcom gpu to boot up as well, if any dev are interesting we can port utouch

Will be updated soon
Issues:
Settings app: closed automatically when activate Bluetooth.
Kernel information: still appear on 3.0.101, i guess modules of MoshKernel should be updated too.
Android rebooting each 10/15 minutes.
Wifi: not working.
Code:

-I will make zImage and use as prebuilt kernel in my roms after add arch-capri drivers.

After done some google search about to find similar devices to our phone and some guys on Whatsapp group give me some useful information about Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 that device share same broadcom chipshet but the kernel is more updated (3.4.5), so I decide to port this version to our phone Samsung Galaxy S2.
I start some tests witnout arch-capri drivers in kernel/samsung/3.4/arch/arm just to see if Android boot or not, the result was really fantastic so from today we can port 3.4 kernel without any problems.

3.1.2 Kernel
-update patch like 3.0.31 -> 3.0.32 is adapted as well.
-now im apply the patch to update the code see ya.
3.1.2 in progress
I have a question dear @CoolDevelopment I manage to update the kernel of this phone from 3.0.101 to 3.1.2 using the patch of kernel.org's website.
here my questions:
-if got failed patch, should skip them in case can't found it code?
-I saw there are a lot of detected commit that already patched, should be skipped too and apply only the new code?
-is enough just downloading 3.1.2.patch and use patch -p1 method or should download kernel source too.
https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v3.x/
now I'm compiling a zImage seems no errors for now, if boot I will continue the port :good:
thanks in advance

Add the Issue Tracker link in the OP. There you can view current and resolved issues. Also I can confirm that there is a GApps issue...It should be fixed in today's/tomorrow's update.

New build up. ROM still not daily driver material but GApps now work. All I am going to say is you might want to check the Issue Tracker.
Another new build. This build was mostly a bug fix one. Check changelog for details. No major issues.

I don't understand. Is there anything to report in this ROM? Nothing since November. I just got my 5x so I'll try this ROM out. And report good and bads.
Edit: so I'm not misunderstood. I don't mean we need something from devs, that's not what Im saying. What I'm wondering is if anyone who has tried and ran this ROM had anything else to say on it. Yes, I see its still 6.0 but ehh I'm just curious.

This is a "blind" build without official source or even device !! So lets just call it beta for now.
Thanks to @Rx8Driver for the test
Not so "new", just beta kernel for MM 6.0.1. There had been N920T/W8 5.1.1 SkyHigh support in the other thread though . . .

Installed on my TMo Note 5 running Jovy23's 920w8 MM build, booted just fine, I can use Viper4Android (yeah!) and when I land later tonight will test phone and other functions and report any issues. Thanks for sharing!
Update: phone calls are working (i'm on AT&T) and no random reboots. will continue usage and monitor for unexpected issues.

Intermittently, yes, but I'm still testing and pulling kmesg and dmsg logs for UITA...i had the sleep of death but it may have been rom related so i need further testing on stock before i can say for sure...I'll have lastkmseg anx dmsg in a couple hours.

Users need to state the required information (as per Post #3) so others can see the bigger picture, what device, what firmware, what mods, what bootloader, what modem, what what what . . . . far to many "whats"
Without relevant info from user, we don't even know which device model ?? Maybe limited to N920T ?
Users will need to test on FULL wipe FULL stock firmware package from sammobile, and test without any mods, apps, debloating etc. I'm not going to even attempt to debug without this. If your device has not official MM firmware, then you maybe just need to wait for Samsung release of this or even official kernel source.

Yes and happy to have it back on MM!
Sent from my Note 5 or Nexus 6P
Decided to be bold and flash it on the Leak tmobile MM. It boots but then it shows that my battery is at 1% and it won't charge. but when i shut down it shows my actual battery percentage.

A few reports along this line with N920T. Maybe a issue with N920T leaked firmware (bootloader mismatch or permissions etc).
I will remove N920T support until official MM firmware is released.

It still hasn't turned off yet, which lead me to believe that its just showing the wrong percentage. Other than that, everything seems smoother than the previous kernel i was using.
After a full Odin back to COKC I'm back on MM and very smooth. Totally naked W8 fw wlout Xposed , yet. So far, SO GOOD! She's fast! will report as testing progresses...
Oops! Sorry UITA! I just noticed you removed support for T variant and as such prob don't Want posts here... I'll remove if you'd like and test quietly.

I thought it maybe worth mentioning to allow Synapse access to storage in the perms , in your Synapse section of OP... I had to manually enable it before synapse would react quite right. So far on this totally naked clean install l've yet to encounter any bugs ,..

I'm using Jovy, the w8 firmware won't flash on my t variant directly from Odin

And as an update the bugs still exist but i don't think it's the kernel, i think it's the leaked bootloader....i think the kernel is fine but something with this bootloader is causing even the stock version to go haywire once in a while...i have logs of anyone's interested, but I'm still going over them and haven't found the culprit yet...
