Hey guys,
I've contacted LG Support (France) and they told me that our great device will receive android Nougat. However, they don't know when. In any case, they don't forget us. :good:
Maybe the bootloader will be unlocked one day..
I guess in 2-4 weeks..
How did you contact? Email?

I called LG CEO and he told me we are not getting Android N, but we will get Android 8.0 :good:
Also he told me that LG sevice will install liquid nitrogen cooling in Flex 2 for free, so it doesn't overheat every 5 minutes.
LG Romania said that they don't have any information regarding Android 7 on Flex 2.

on my tmo V10 this option is disabled yet.
Having root and custom recovery installed will prevent anyway to OTA to install
Just curious. Wouldn't ota not really matter considering the bootloader is unlocked?

Hello idol 3 community!
Recently i contacted alcatel to ask if its going to be an update to marshwallow (6.0).
There response was:
" Thank you for getting in touch with us.
We have plan to update idol 3 to marshwallow 6.0 in the second half of this year, but we can't confirm the date for your country."(portugal)
Yeah i guess is great news!
Regards.
Lol In the last few weeks they gave us "soon" and "not planned" and "have no idea" answers. Second half of the year? Do you believe that? What do they want at that time? Android N's preview versions are expected in May.... Alcatel never will update us to Marshmallow
That's blasphemy if you ask me.

Too bad It will never get that major update. The other thread on XDA and Reddit or Alcatel's Facebook page is already full of promises like this.
I hope when the idol 4 will be here, that we'll can have an upgrade for the 3, because they seem to be pretty similar.

could be tomorrow or never. I hate to say that, but as an ex Optimus G Pro (E988) user, I've had a bitter memory with LG when they only released the Lollipop update to their Korean variant (F240L) but never on other international variants. When I heard G Flex 2 MM update is released for F510H and F510L, I was worried that the history might repeat itself again.

Available (not OTA though)
The H955 update is available through LG PC Suite (worked for me), or you can use this method: bit.ly 28TCbsk (add a /). Hope it works! Still mad at LG for not sending the update to H950 (have one of those too!).

Sorry but I dissent.
Certainly I am happy for official MM from LG and moderately curious about it.
But the equation root=life that surely hold true for you, is not true for a large bunch of other ppl.
If your life is a rooted phone, this is your call, but there are so many more exciting things in life that a rooted phone IMHO.
Sorry for the O.T.
On a more technical note root=superuser, suid on a shell without the protection of a password. Who don't know what's root and suid, and how to protect from their pitfalls, should avoid rooting.
It's like doing acrobat without being trained and without a safety net, it's like all of your phone open to everyone.
There's no protection from unpassworded root suid shell (unless you have good knowledge of unix system administration and programming).
And what about rooting methods, Superuser and the su binary itself? It's a matter of trust: would you trust an unknown, just met casually, sharing something of value? Actually sharing the entire content of your phone with the suid shell and every other program that uses it, is what happens when you root it.
Lol.. another O.T.

I'm not sure how people having been trying to update. I first tried just using the system update on the phone but it showed nothing was available. I installed HiSuite on my PC, connected my phone to it, followed instructions and voilà, there was the update. Possibly a timing coincidence, but I post what I did here, just in case people haven't tried.

Did it OTA over my home WiFi, no need to connect with HiSuite.

Malaysia! Seems like everyone getting the update is from Europe. Believe this is for the European release. Kind of sad that they neglected Asia ex-China devices. Guess we have to be more patient.
The B135 (in the chinese version) it's already with the improvements for camera?
Nougat for the 3GB/FHD models began to OTA on Decemeber 20th, so hopefully that means that our lowly 2GB/HD model will see it soon.
