Hello idol 3 community!
Recently i contacted alcatel to ask if its going to be an update to marshwallow (6.0).
There response was:
" Thank you for getting in touch with us.
We have plan to update idol 3 to marshwallow 6.0 in the second half of this year, but we can't confirm the date for your country."(portugal)
Yeah i guess is great news!

Lol In the last few weeks they gave us "soon" and "not planned" and "have no idea" answers. Second half of the year? Do you believe that? What do they want at that time? Android N's preview versions are expected in May.... Alcatel never will update us to Marshmallow

At Q3-Q4 I'll buy another phone. Idol 3 is not an Xperia Z3 which can stand the time.

here is the thing... this phone will not be able to handle the next gen devices but , is good to see a last gen phone receive at least one major update.

Too bad It will never get that major update. The other thread on XDA and Reddit or Alcatel's Facebook page is already full of promises like this.
I hope when the idol 4 will be here, that we'll can have an upgrade for the 3, because they seem to be pretty similar.

and others have emails with not planning update answers. 'till alcatel doesn't start to roll the update i'm afraid it's only a joke from portugal.

So there is a new update rolling out to fix the palm multi touch issue for us. Some people are saying that they have received it ...has anyone had the OTA hit their device here? If so has it really improved and noticed any other changes?

nice i guess ill be waiting a couple of days,,,still haven't received and its not available to manually download yet on tmobile site.

I've contacted LG Support (France) and they told me that our great device will receive android Nougat. However, they don't know when. In any case, they don't forget us. :good:
Maybe the bootloader will be unlocked one day..
I guess in 2-4 weeks..

I've directly contacted them on the LG official facebook page, but some technology websites are saying that it will receive this update.

what tech sites? any links? some community manager on Facebook trying to make a customer happy does not reassure me on the validity of the information for some reason.

I called LG CEO and he told me we are not getting Android N, but we will get Android 8.0 :good:
Also he told me that LG sevice will install liquid nitrogen cooling in Flex 2 for free, so it doesn't overheat every 5 minutes.
LG Romania said that they don't have any information regarding Android 7 on Flex 2.

I don't know what is new. It says no changelog. It says funkyhuawei reddit page:

But trying one day battery time maybe is improved. Here is screenshots.

So far this is working nice firmware. Battery inside one day before was finish 30% but yesterday was with 75%.

two questions:
1: what is FF? is it another repository for firmwares? any links?
2: also, i don't understand the disapproval regarding fu***wei.. I tried installing TWRP on my Mate 9.. ended up almost bricking it.. (it was stuck in a bootloop and adb showed it as unauthorized.. I didn't know what todo)
I used the fu***wei method and although it was a little cumbersome.. (had to do it at home so I could modify the modem settings etc.)
it actually totally worked.. (took a while but it worked) The guy was super responsive too. (I guess I go thte time zones aligned just right to ask my questions but yeah, he'd respond within minutes of my e-mails..)
(btw, I came to this forum looking exactly for this model MHA-L29C185 I wish there were clearer instructions on how to do these things without paying etc but if there is a resource like this why knock it? i'm seriously curious)

petraru1 is a senior member with 501 posts and 358 thanksmeter. I dont think he tries to fool anyone. Lets wait to see what he has to say. I have to admit that the site with the oreo rom seems legit (i have come across others that you could tell that they are fake).

Ok after waiting a few days i now have come to believe that petraru1 is full of s....t. Since bootloaders are still locked there is no way to import anything customized, as far as i know. So i guess there is no way this oreo rom is for real.
I was obviously trolling, forget about updates for this phone, it will never happen.
You can check for updates here http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/ just enter imei or search for your country or model. And i am not trolling now.

I've read the instructions, and the fact that is says "Don't bother to Google or search for this, because I have uploaded it for you." makes me thinking that it's not real at all. Also, it would have been posted on XDA before that article, so no, I don't think so, But you can try
