could be tomorrow or never. I hate to say that, but as an ex Optimus G Pro (E988) user, I've had a bitter memory with LG when they only released the Lollipop update to their Korean variant (F240L) but never on other international variants. When I heard G Flex 2 MM update is released for F510H and F510L, I was worried that the history might repeat itself again.

I sent emails to LG Mobile SG and HK yesterday and yet received any reply from them. LG will care about Korean Users first maybe because LG from Korea?
Available (not OTA though)
The H955 update is available through LG PC Suite (worked for me), or you can use this method: bit.ly 28TCbsk (add a /). Hope it works! Still mad at LG for not sending the update to H950 (have one of those too!).

Sorry but I dissent.
Certainly I am happy for official MM from LG and moderately curious about it.
But the equation root=life that surely hold true for you, is not true for a large bunch of other ppl.
If your life is a rooted phone, this is your call, but there are so many more exciting things in life that a rooted phone IMHO.
Sorry for the O.T.
On a more technical note root=superuser, suid on a shell without the protection of a password. Who don't know what's root and suid, and how to protect from their pitfalls, should avoid rooting.
It's like doing acrobat without being trained and without a safety net, it's like all of your phone open to everyone.
There's no protection from unpassworded root suid shell (unless you have good knowledge of unix system administration and programming).
And what about rooting methods, Superuser and the su binary itself? It's a matter of trust: would you trust an unknown, just met casually, sharing something of value? Actually sharing the entire content of your phone with the suid shell and every other program that uses it, is what happens when you root it.
Lol.. another O.T.

Having root and custom recovery installed will prevent anyway to OTA to install

Hi everyone,
I have just purchased an i7plus from dhgate and I was wondering if there is any way to root this device or install an Android ROM without the iOS theme? I have looked and can only find content for i6s not i7plus.
If I can root it then I can remove the Chinese bloatwear apps that are preinstslled but if I can just run a stock Android ROM that would be great too
Thanks

I don't know what is new. It says no changelog. It says funkyhuawei reddit page:
<<The unreleased MHA-L29C185B172 build has been added to FunkyHuawei. An accurate changelog has not yet been released, but the expected differences are better touchscreen response, and less power consumption for longer battery life, similar to the Chinese B173 build.
Even if you have another Mate 9 model, you can rebrand to MHA-L29C185 and install the firmware, with FunkyHuawei.>>
But trying one day battery time maybe is improved. Here is screenshots.

Hi guys! How is the performance and battery life of this update B172? Thanks!
hi everyone.
two questions:
1: what is FF? is it another repository for firmwares? any links?
2: also, i don't understand the disapproval regarding fu***wei.. I tried installing TWRP on my Mate 9.. ended up almost bricking it.. (it was stuck in a bootloop and adb showed it as unauthorized.. I didn't know what todo)
I used the fu***wei method and although it was a little cumbersome.. (had to do it at home so I could modify the modem settings etc.)
it actually totally worked.. (took a while but it worked) The guy was super responsive too. (I guess I go thte time zones aligned just right to ask my questions but yeah, he'd respond within minutes of my e-mails..)
(btw, I came to this forum looking exactly for this model MHA-L29C185 I wish there were clearer instructions on how to do these things without paying etc but if there is a resource like this why knock it? i'm seriously curious)
Seems we're not

Not sure of custom roms but yeah, at least Oreo is confirmed for us! Can't wait to experience it.
Then? LG is notoriously bad at update software. Unless we have custom ROM the phone will become abandoned in 2 years for sure.., unless oreo update has treble then maybe some little hope

I just updated my phone to the .128 (636) firmware and the improvement in the camera app is so huge compared to previous version. I was on .107(636). AI now detects the scene more consistently and apply the HDR extremely well. In my opinion the dynamic range is on par with pixel 2 or even slightly better with this version. I can shoot handheld night scene at shutter speed 1/24 without using the night mode which is usually at 4 seconds shutter speed (harder to handhold). The only way to get this firmware right now is via funky huawei though

Well you'll have to hurry if you decide to do it... Since they'll stop providing unlock codes soon. Just go to the uk support chat and ask for a bootloader unlock code, you should get it on you email in 2 days if they agree if not jjst go onto chat again and say you didn't recieve it... Lucky you, when I got mine it the site was down.
But I would really recommend doing it if you know yourself to be careful with your phone. The updated firmware is worth it...since it can be quite some times till huawei might push the update to your device/country/region. etc. so that's the only way to actually keeping up to date without having to wait a lot..
