How to root SM-N9100(Note 4 duos bought from China) on Android 6.0.1 - General Questions and Answers

Hi Guys,
I updated the firmware to Android 6.0.1. I tried rooting the phone in order to install GAPPS.
I tried rooting with CF Auto root, but i had a loop in Recovery Boot(i think CF Auto root ZIP file was not compatible with Android 6.0.1)
so guys,
1. can someone suggest me a way to root my phone?
2. guide me to install GAPPS and use PlayStore on this phone.
I'm new to android rooting and i prefer much information on your responses .
thanks

Galaxy S2 Root Problem. Lost root access

I rooted my galaxy s2 i9100 using CF Root 5.3 . As all know CF Root 5.3 has SD Card installation issue. The solution is to install CF Root 5.4.
But i unknowingly uninstall SuperSu . Now even if i reinstall SuperSu i cannot get root access.
So what should i do?
I already have CWM present in my device. Should i reinstall CF-Root with version 5.4 or 5.5(SD Card issue solved) on the top of it by using ODIN
..
If that is the solution then Ok...
Or should i reinstall SuperSu from the android market, If i do that i am getting binary error .. I can't open SuperSu
Can someone point me in the right direction
Also can someone tell me which CF-root version is for my device.. My device info is
PDA: I9100XXLPQ
PHONE:I9100DDLP8
CSC:19100DDLP7
OS Version:4.0.3 ICS . No custom roms installed
Kernel Version:
[email protected]#3
Help would be appreciated.. I already searched the forums for answers but could not find them..Cant Install apps on SDCard due to this.
And Sorry for such a Noob Question.
Thanks in Advance

[Q] installng cwm

Hello, I'm new to rooting but also to this tablet. I am thinking of rooting with c.f. auto root but would I be able to use Rom manager from the play market and install cwm or would it be incompatible with chainfires way? Hope I can because I don't want a brick haha
CF Auto root works fine, BUT ROM Manager is not yet compatible with the N8XXX series. If CWM is already installed it can use it, but it will not install it on the Galaxy Note 10.1
Install CWM manually or just use Mobile Odin which is what I do
Steve
Thanks for the info
Could you please tell me how I flash it to my device or a tutorial on here? Sorry for such a noob question but I have to start somewhere

[Q] about mobile odin pro

hello
I used mobile odin pro to update my galaxy note 10.1.
the update to the latest germany firmware CM8 was successful.
but i didn't get root access
I only clicked everroot option and installed supersu after the boot
supersu cannot update the binaries (no root ??)
what can i do ?
thank you :fingers-crossed:
ps: sorry for my poor english
Install CWM from the developement thread. It will root and install CWM. If you don't want CWM then install & run triangle-away and flash the stock recovery back on.

Hi
I did some test.
I returned to 4.11 XEF with Odin PC.
rooted my device with ExynosAbuse APK v1.40
I installed mobile odin pro and checked the everroot, inject su and inject mobile odin pro boxes
the update to 4.12 CM8 germany was successful
and finally my device was rooted:victory:
anyway thank you very much for your answer:good:
I had some problems running the exynos abuse exploit when I upgraded to a newer OS. I personally wouldn't recommen but if it works for you then kudos....

Hi mate
Well if you only want to root and stay with your stock rom CF autoroot is the way to go , you do not need the extra steps , you keep your stock recovery and you do not need to format your data
But if you wish to flash a custom rom the you need a custom recovery (TWRP) so then is easier that do it (root and TWRP ) all in one procedure .

TWRP on rooted J700p

I have a Samsung Galaxy J700p (boost Mobile) on software version J700PVPS1AQD1 that I rooted using CF Auto Root. I want to install TWRP recovery, but I don't know if being already rooted changes anything. All the guides I see show only how to install TWRP and root at the same time through Odin. I want to be extra cautious about this, I don't want to have to re-flash the stock ROM again.
