[Q] about mobile odin pro - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello
I used mobile odin pro to update my galaxy note 10.1.
the update to the latest germany firmware CM8 was successful.
but i didn't get root access
I only clicked everroot option and installed supersu after the boot
supersu cannot update the binaries (no root ??)
what can i do ?
thank you :fingers-crossed:
ps: sorry for my poor english

Install CWM from the developement thread. It will root and install CWM. If you don't want CWM then install & run triangle-away and flash the stock recovery back on.

Hi
I did some test.
I returned to 4.11 XEF with Odin PC.
rooted my device with ExynosAbuse APK v1.40
I installed mobile odin pro and checked the everroot, inject su and inject mobile odin pro boxes
the update to 4.12 CM8 germany was successful
and finally my device was rooted:victory:
anyway thank you very much for your answer:good:

I had some problems running the exynos abuse exploit when I upgraded to a newer OS. I personally wouldn't recommen but if it works for you then kudos....

Galaxy S2 Root Problem. Lost root access

I rooted my galaxy s2 i9100 using CF Root 5.3 . As all know CF Root 5.3 has SD Card installation issue. The solution is to install CF Root 5.4.
But i unknowingly uninstall SuperSu . Now even if i reinstall SuperSu i cannot get root access.
So what should i do?
I already have CWM present in my device. Should i reinstall CF-Root with version 5.4 or 5.5(SD Card issue solved) on the top of it by using ODIN
..
If that is the solution then Ok...
Or should i reinstall SuperSu from the android market, If i do that i am getting binary error .. I can't open SuperSu
Can someone point me in the right direction
Also can someone tell me which CF-root version is for my device.. My device info is

PHONE:I9100DDLP8

OS Version:4.0.3 ICS . No custom roms installed

Help would be appreciated.. I already searched the forums for answers but could not find them..Cant Install apps on SDCard due to this.
And Sorry for such a Noob Question.
Thanks in Advance

Yes i read some reports of users who used it successfully to update cwm
But when i tried it it did not overwrite my old recovery
So you could try it
If no result then use Odin and if you are afraid about counter increase, use triangle away app, will reset counter to zero as if no odin used (worked fine for me)
Sent from Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Tab2
already updated Galaxy P3100 to jellybean but now want to root d devic wid CWM update
I already updated my galaxy tab 2 GT-P3100 to jellybean update(leaked and got from XDA-developers.com ) but now I am thinking to update CWM update to this device and want to extend ROM and root the device....
I got a CWM update by Odin and many other options from the net and XDA-developers But That was old and was a CWM update for ICS 4.0.3/4 ...But I already updated it to JellyBean 4.1.1 so I think that old update will not work...
So please anyone help me to do this Update... If anybody have any information about CWM update for root the device Galaxy GT-P3100 and on 4.1.1 JellyBean OS then inform me...
Thank You..

[Q] installng cwm

Hello, I'm new to rooting but also to this tablet. I am thinking of rooting with c.f. auto root but would I be able to use Rom manager from the play market and install cwm or would it be incompatible with chainfires way? Hope I can because I don't want a brick haha
CF Auto root works fine, BUT ROM Manager is not yet compatible with the N8XXX series. If CWM is already installed it can use it, but it will not install it on the Galaxy Note 10.1
Install CWM manually or just use Mobile Odin which is what I do
Steve
Thanks for the info
Could you please tell me how I flash it to my device or a tutorial on here? Sorry for such a noob question but I have to start somewhere

Rooting GT-n8013 Android Version 4.1.2

I want to update my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8013) Android version 4.1.2 (Build JZ054K.N8013UEUCOI1). I saw an article in this forum by Samir_a as a sticky thread dated in Jan 2013 and I would like to follow that thread (once I find it again). Title it was a sticky with the title Guide - Installing Firmware, CWM recovery & Rooting.
First I have some questions: 1) will my data and apps still be there? If not is there an easy way to backup my stuff so I won't lose it.
The following are questions I have from Samir_a article.
("Firmware - you can download either from Samfirmware or http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2016792"). ("Once you download the files you will need to extract, the extracted file should have the following extention .tar.md5 remember the path where you extract the file"). Is this the ROM or what? If it is the ROM, how do I find the right version? I didn't see 8013 listed.
("Odin - you can download again from the above link.") I did find ODIN 3.12.3 as a download: is this the correct version??
("Note drivers - Should be installed with Kies (Make sure you exit kies before proceeding further)" What are these drivers and where do I find Kies.
Sorry to take up a lot of your time but I want to do this right. I have flashed BIOS on PCs before but this is different.
There is no update for N8013 last version is 4.1.2
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-N8013/
Root and recovery are only required for custom firmwares not stock .

I do want to get beyond the standard 4.1.2. I'm asking for guidance on that subject. First question is will I lose my apps and data??
But your question is .
Rooting GT-n8013 Android Version 4.1.2
Then you are asking about downloading firmware from sammobile = stock not custom .
Next you say you want custom not stock .
Sorry i don't know what you actually want .
custom roms .
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-1/development
If its a custom rom first choose your custom rom then read its instructions .
I'm sorry if my questions have not been clear but I DO want "custom" software which I think comes with "rooting" my tablet. I have my tablet for years and there seems to be nothing on the horizon beyond 4.1.2. Therefore I am willing to root my tablet to get to newer version of android.
Choose your custom rom .

I have updated my bios rom on a pc but have not done any of this on a tablet or phone. I am looking for some step-by-step instructions on how to do this. Is there a link you can give me to start this process?
Recovery .

Flash as tar via Odin .
Then choose your custom rom .

TWRP on rooted J700p

I have a Samsung Galaxy J700p (boost Mobile) on software version J700PVPS1AQD1 that I rooted using CF Auto Root. I want to install TWRP recovery, but I don't know if being already rooted changes anything. All the guides I see show only how to install TWRP and root at the same time through Odin. I want to be extra cautious about this, I don't want to have to re-flash the stock ROM again.
