Hi,
I am new to Xda. I have successfully fixed carbon ROM(kitkat 4.4.4) for Sony Xperia SLT26ii. I modified it to 'Asterisk' (new name). I want to help poor teens like me(I am just 15) still stuck with sony Xperia SLT26ii. I need to know how to upload it to Xda.
Regards,
Fazeel CF
P.S :- May have misplaced this thread. And I have successfully flashed the above ROM using CWM(Doomlord exploit).:good:

Hello Guys I want to ask you how to root my Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman Android 4.0.4? I want full procedure in brief step by step. Please do help me!!! I have searched a lot but can't get how to root Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman Android 4.0.4?
Anyone please help me!!! Please!!!
In my opinion, ICS is still new to most devices so there's no root yet for it.
I don't think so. So how can I root my phone then?
how about this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460 its the most updated so far.
it says for many phones but doesn't list SE Live With Walkman so, use at your own risk and good luck. ^^

I've managed to root my Wt19i(Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman) having the latest version of Android 4.0.4 but I have an unlocked bootloader using the information from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30465156#post30465156
I can give you assistance on unlocking the bootloader (using the testpoint method) if you're blocked. There are several threads on this forum describing how to do it. I will help you tomorrow when I'll be on my pc.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Miro, Tipo (Dual) and J
Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), and J
This a short list of frequently asked questions in this device forum and the answers often given as a response. It should serve as a starting point for gathering knowledge and finding solutions to many common problems. Please only post in this thread with feedback on how to improve this document. Do not post "Thank you" type responses. If you have additional questions or require more help, try to find an existing thread or create your own. Do not use this as a general help thread.
Q1: Why isn't Flashtool working? If you are getting an error message about the header of your ftf, then you will need to copy loader.sin into your ftf file before flashing. Make sure that the drivers for your device are loaded and that you wait for Flashtool to ask you to connect your device. Your device should be in msc mode and USB debugging needs to be on. There is a thread dedicated to issues with flashing here.
Q2: How do I root my device?Rooting is usually done by applying an exploit or sometimes it can be done with Flashtool. Rooting can be a little bit confusing because not every version of Firmware is vulnerable to the same exploits, so some rooting strategies require changing the Firmware as part of the rooting process. It is probably best to consult one of the rooting guides for your device. For example: here or here
Q3: How do I unlock the bootloader?Unlocking the bootloader is essential if you want to use custom kernels. After unlocking the bootloader you will have to use Flashtool to update your device because PC Companion and SUS won't recognize your device, unless you relock your bootloader. You can use either the Official Sony Unlocking method or SE Tool to unlock your bootloader. See the guide here
Q4: Will --fill in the blank-- work on the Dual?If it doesn't explicity say that it works on the Dual, it probably doesn't. Make sure to read the OP carefully and have a recovery strategy in place, for example a recent nandroid back up, just in case.
Q5: What is the best ROM or kernel? This is probably NOT a good question to be asking. Asking this question will most likely get you made fun of, and since it is against the rules, your thread or post will most likely be deleted. The best ROM or kernel will depend on how you use your device and what you are hoping to get out of it. So, only you can answer this question, have a little bit of fun testing different ROMs and kernels and then pick the set up that works the best for you.
Q6: Where is everybody? Why am I so alone?lol, don't worry, sometimes it takes a little bit of time before Development of a device takes off. It is already clear that this is going to be a vibrant place for Development.
Q7: Where can I get more information? What if I don't see my question here? The search functions in xda are pretty powerful and they will help you find what you are looking for. They can usually be found at the top of all the forums and the "Search this Forum" box usually does a good job narrowing your search down. There is a good index/all-in-one guide in the Development section: here and a "Help for any topic" thread here Make use of them!

No, all xperia phones have no recovery partitions, but it's easy to enter flashmode and fastboot mode, and using flashtool software on pc, you can fastboot kernel, flash roms etc.

Question re custom Roms for xperia J
@ mods: If my query is not at the right place, kindly move it to it's appropriate location.
I am thinking of buying a xperia J in India. Are there any custom Roms which have call recording enabled for this particular phone? I have tried to use the search feature on Xda prior to posting this query and have also tried a google search for xda and freexperia but have not found any pointed answers.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me resolve this query.

I'm stupid
Hi!
First of, im not that bright as you will see:
What i've done on my miro is, well i had cwm and the gimlo custom rom, everything worked nice except my sound (it worked for a couple of days and then just stopped), as I wasn't sure if it was a hardware problem i tried to reflash the rom, and here comes the problem.
As I booted into cwm I did a system format so I can properly re-flash the rom, and as gitsy as I am i just pressed reboot phone now instead of flashing the rom first.
Now I can't get to recovery and I can't get it past the sony logo on boot. How do I fix this problem?
EDIT: Fixed! I got it to flashmode (plug in and hold the vol-) and flashed the original firmware via flashtool! Will keep the post if someone has the same problem. Feel free to ask a question or two if you need help from me ..aand not to forget, my sound works again!

Is there a clockwork rom for tipo dual with gsm support yet? Last time i flashed it had no gsm support (fxp222).
Or where can i find such info?
Hello guys,
These are stock .ftf’s. What does that mean? Well, these are just all the available firmwares for our single and dual Xperia E devices that have been released officially by Sony. You can use these to flash with Flashtool, to get, for example, out of a bootloop/soft brick. Or if you want to flash CWM, you will need 11.3.A.0.47 as your firmware(on E single). That’s what they basically do. For additional information, if you’re unsure what to do, and how to use these, please ask in this thread.
Follow this great, and easy to follow tutorial to flash the firmwares using Flashtool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240614
Note: Mirrors aren’t guaranteed to work! Please keep that in mind. The ones I’ve uploaded are all tested, and work fine!
Note 2: DO NOT SPAM THIS THREAD WITH QUESTIONS LIKE: ‘’OMG, I’m such a noob, I have no idea how to use this, but I want it. Sorry for my bad english blabla! Help me, otherwise I’m going to commit suicide! ‘’
Well, you get the idea. Please, use this thread only for reporting corrupted .ftf’s or bad download links, and not to post stupid questions that can be solved with a small Google/XDA search.
Thank you in advance!

Note: if you are flashing this from CM10 you must first flash any stock based kernel(Zeus for example)!

I found a very similar issue report here.
Fortunately it was solved.
Hopefully this can solve your issue too.
If not, just ask in this thread again. The developers of both ROM versions (for the Miro and Tipo) are watching it and have already posted answers in this thread.
EDIT:
And make sure that you flashed this ROM version for your Sony Xperia Mico.
Detailed installation instruction are in post #2 of this ROM thread.
Hey there,
I'm completely new to flashing and other stuff. I really love CM11 (just by seeing it's screenshots in the group) and would love to have it on my Xperia L! I have the latest version and firmware and it is rooted.
What I'd love to see is Varun Chitre's CM11.. but the problem is.. I'm completely noob. I don't know where to start with. Can someone give me a step by step instructions, PLEASE? My warranty has expired and I'd love to learn new things, modify and customize my xL!
I have downloaded the cm-11-20140620-UNOFFICIAL-taoshan.zip from the given website, and I'm confused what to do now.
The thread of the development: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/orig-development/ldevelopment-cm11-android-4-4-t2735551
Do I need to download anything else except the cm11taoshan.zip (the original file download link of 210mb)?
I already own Flashtool and I've downloaded the main 4.4.4 free xperia project file. I'm confused what to do now..
Thanks in advance
Ayush
First you must root your device,
next do a backup of drm files,
next unlock bootloader
next flash kernel and install CM11 from your internal sdcard.
All tutorials you have in Xperia L-> General
