What's your computer's O/S and what version of Kies do you have?

So ODIN recognises my phone (Kies doesn't), but I can't seem to flash anything. I got stuck at the "Firmware upgrade encountered error" message. I'm just trying to use Konane's method of getting back to stock but my ODIN only shows "Initialization" then sits and does nothing else.
Please help me out here - I'd rather not have to take my phone to AT&T...
This is the method I was following: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340526
Spoke too soon - it's my bum-a$$ computer at the house that didn't recognise my phone every time I connected via USB. Love XDA!
I tried to install something with Odin 3.07 and then all of the sudden my phone said "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". I connected it to Kies and it wouldn't connect. I tried to use the emergency firmware upgrade and it wouldn't connect. I also tried Firmware Upgrade and Initialization and when i put in SGH-T595V it says "please check the model name and enter it". I can't go into recovery mode or download mode. When i restart this, I just get the same message. Is there anyway I can fix this?
Please give the link for what you tried to flash.

Actually this is download mode my friend. Just load odin and you are gonna be able to flash a rom in the phone and you'll be back on track in no time

I had to flash the ClockworkMod-Recovery first because it didn't accept any ROM.
It worked just fine. now I'm running the AoCP 6.4 ROM and the phone is way way faster than before
Thank you so much! )))))
Hi All,
I'm hoping someone can help me with my non-rooted Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Tablet (GT-P110). The tablet won't go into download or recovery mode, and it's saying "Firmware Upgrade encountered an Issue. Please select recovery mode in KIES and try again". I've tried using Kies, but it's not recognising the device.
I've downloaded Odin 3.09 and a stock ROM from Samsung Updates. When I go to flash the ROM via ODIN it fails at around the 60-70% mark. I've tried a different stock ROM, but the same thing happens.
Is there anything else I could try?
Many Thanks...

Try a different cable if possible, different pc/laptop and go to samsung website and download drivers for your tablet model. Sometimes Kies doesn't do a good job with drivers.
Try rebooting tablet and connecting it right away to pc/laptop.
Good luck.

I have tried a different cable, laptop and downloaded the drivers from the Samsung website, but I was still stuck with the same problem. I tried using Odin 3.07 and this got me further than before. It went through the flash process and I then got the blue reset message. The problem is that the tablet doesn't reset and just goes to a black screen. When I try to manually reset the tablet it comes back with the same message "Firmware Upgrade encountered an Issue. Please select recovery mode in KIES and try again"
Has anyone got any other suggestions I could try?
Many Thanks...
I've had the exact same issue before and in my case simply removing the external sd card before flashing with Odin solved the problem.

I never thought of that because I keep a nandroid copy on my external SD, so I always pull it from my phone or tablet when flashing /reset just to be safe. Doesn't everyone do that?

my tab is stuck at error message " Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select kies recovery mode in kies and try again". I have tried Kies but it does not recognise the device. It says this device is not supported. tried smart switch too but the same result. I tried to flash the firmware using Odin but it failed too. I do not know what I am doing wrong. Any help on this will be appreciated. Thanks In advance
Give me logs of odin.
The most common reasons for odin to fail would be absence of USB drivers for your device.
HIT THANKS IF I HELPED YOU!!
